Please enjoy this piece of history by the late legend, Yusuff Khan. Born in the year 1943 in Couva-Tabaquite-Talparo Regional Corporation, Trinidad & Tobago, Khan was praised for his original compositions. Yusuff Khan, also known as the "Mighty Crepsole", made his first big public apprearance on the Sunday Morning Indian Hour Programme over Radio Trinidad through Mr. Moean Mohammed in 1962.
From the album "Gharam Masala of Trinidad & Tobago - W.I.", released in 1981.
The front of the LP sleeve reads:
"Yusuff Khan Vol. 4
Produced by Moean Mohammed for Windsor Records"
No information regarding the musicians are given on the sleeve.
Do you have a list of the musicians on this album? and thanks for posting, Uncle Yusuff was a legend, he had such a unique voice. Never mind on the musicians, I just saw you said no musician info was given on the sleeve. I was curious to know who the tabla player was back in those days. He sounds good!
I'm very curious myself! Musicians back in those days surely were talented despite the lack of written knowledge available to them. I have the rest of the album coming shortly so stay tuned!
@@rajinrambaran97 I look at Mastana Bahar and Indian Variety clips on TH-cam just to see the musicians and singers, they were indeed talented despite any formal training.
Film: Jai Bharat (1936), Singer: Pyaru Qawwal, Genre: Ghazal,

As sung by Pearu (Pyaru) Qawwal (Ustaad Aziz Ahmed)
0. (Ref) Bābā koī nahī' hai ghair. Bābā koī nahī' hai ghair.
Koī nahī' hai ghair, he bābā; koī nahī' hai ghair. (ĀĪŪṛāīūḥɛ)
Bābā koī nahī' hai ghair. Maiyyā koī nahī' hai ghair.
Father, no one is an outsider. No one is a stranger, O father.
Father, no one is an outsider. Mother, no one is a stranger.
1. Hindū Musalim Sikhī Īsāī; dekho sabhī hai' bhāī bhāī. (2)
Bhārata mātā sab kī māī (2); matalab tamannā me' bair. (Ref)
Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, & Christians; look all are brothers.
India is the mother of all, meaning there should be no hatred.
2. Bhārata ke sab rɛhane vāle; kaun sā gore, kaun sā kāle.
Rām samajh Rehamāna samajh le; dharma kun īmāna samajh le.
All are residents of India; whether he is fair or dark. If you understand
the Lord, you'll know this. If you have honest religion, you'll know this.
3. Kaun sā masjid, kaun sā mandir; Īshvar kā sthāna samajh le.(2)
Kar dono' kī sair; he Bābā koī nahī' hai ghair. (Refrain)
Which mosque, which mandir; understand the abode of the God.
Just visit both (the mosque & mandir); no one is a stranger, father.
4. Bharat ke sab rɛhane vale kaise gore kaise kale;
chūt achūt ke jagdhe pale, paṛ gāī jis ke jān ke lāle;
phir kāhe kā bair, koī nahī’ hai ghair.

Film: Mera Naam Joker (1970), Singer: Mukesh Chand Mathur,
Lyrics: Neeraj, Music Director/Composer: Shankar Jaikishan.
0. Kɛhatā hai jokar sārā zamānā; ādhī haqīqat, ādhā fasānā.
Chashma utāro, phir dekho yāro; duniyā nahī’ hai cheharā purānā.
The entire world calls me a joker; it's half reality and half story.
Friends, remove your glasses & see; the world is new but the face is old.
(Ref) Kɛhatā hai jokar sārā zamānā; ādhī haqīqat, ādhā fasānā.
Kɛhatā hai jokar. (ĀŪṛāīūḥɛ)
1. Apane pe ha’s kar, jag ko ha’sāyā; ban ke tamāsha, mele me’ āyā (2).
Hindu na muslim, pūrab na pashchim; mazahab hai apanā, ha’sānā ha’sānā. (Ref)
I made the world to laugh with jokes on me; I entered the gathering as an entertainer.
Neither Hindu nor Muslim, neither east nor west; making others laugh is my religion.
2. Dhakke pe dhakkā, rele pe relā; hai bhiṛ itanī, par dil akelā (2).
Gham jab satāye, sītī bajānā; par masakhare se, dil na lagānā. (Ref)
There is pushing and shoving all around; there is a crowd but the heart is lonely.
Blow a whistle when sorrow torments you; but never fall in love with this joker.
