I know this is an old video but this is by far one of the fairest reviews on the platform. I've taken my 2014 Q50S to the track a number of times and the observation that it enjoys rotating is also what surprised me the first time I took it out. These cars love a little bit of trail braking and the chassis seems to be pretty agile, even more so with some suspension mods. My Q is 6MT converted so it's helped tremendously to make it more predictable/controllable - as you said these cars have a lot of mass but they are great fun to drive and I think possibly one of the best cars to come out of Japan in the last decade.
Nah, not a baby GTR. Takumi makes the 3.8 VR by hand... it's worth searching around youtube to find videos about it. Just 5 dudes. They each build their engine from beginning to end and stamp their name on it. It's a work of art. These 3.0 VRs are made on an assembly line. Considering a reflash/tune will add 100hp no need to wait for the factory.
There's also a box plug in that will add even more power
A simple tune can break the 400hp set up. The AMS bolts on brings it to 470hp. Of course anyone want this thing beyond that will need a lot of Benjamins.
Infiniti 560+hp Black S, is the new GTR.......
This car is underrated, the motor makes 450 at the crank and around 370whp at the wheels.
Simple bolts ons have shown on a dyno to put it at 400whp.. almost 470ish at the crank on a stock tune and fbo...
I imagine this things bad ass. Kinda wish they put the old 4.5 dual over head cam engine in it like in my M45s. Idk just my opinion v8s sound so much better then any v6.
So much easier to hear you talk in a car with the stock muffler.
Would love to see the Q60 AWD vs the Audi RS3. Both have 400hp and both are AWD... make it happen please.
Wait...7 liters per 100 km is what? 34mpg? On this drive train? No way.
Yes LOL 400HP and getting 34MPG :) have a q50 RS400 and LOVE IT BEYOND
Agree........NO WAY he's getting 33mpg. Even babying it on long drives I think the best I've gotten is 26-27mpg. Around town in spirited driving with a JB4 I'm averaging
It's the smaller engine with turbo. That's why Accords,Altima, mustang and camaro are abandoning their v6s for a turbo 4.
i get 33mpg, with the nismo factory exhaust w/ muffler which is known to give you less mpg. that was over a 6 hour drive for 250 miles
@@karbondioxide I plan to do something similar to my Z in a year or two.
Infotainment and weight. Matter of fact bring back the 300zx with that motor.
Z1 Motorsports threw in this engine into a 370Z, pretty bad ass
i have a q60. love everything except when it rains. Does not handle well in the rain or slick conditions.
ditch the stock tires. they suck.
Those seats look a bit like braum seats I'm digging that
"i did not expect it to be this driveable around a racetrack" well, luis hamilton was involved with development of the car... he drove the test car and gave feedback on it
Wasn't Sebastien Vettel involved with EAU ROUGE ??
@@bigden2755 one of those guys 😉
View from your helmet GoPro is hard to watch since it requires us to change our view back and forth with your head too many times. Feeling sick now lol. Thanks for he review though.
As a G37 owner I'd like to know how it handles with head soak from say a 15 minute track session on and off all weekend. Mt G doesn't really like doing it with it's 7 speed auto.
run a oil and trans cooler, youll be fine.
Hey!! You're missing your old G35's lap time in there! 1:22.90 after coil overs, bolt ons, brakes, and differential.
Nice!! Nice car. Great track performance!
I like 2018 Infiniti Q60. I hope Infiniti make Q60 convertible again.
WJ Kim I hope they don’t those things were ugly
It isn't a baby GTR motor like everyone thinks. It's an entirely new engine.
4000 pounds
400 HP
And 7 liter per 100km
I don’t believe that
I believe Mercedes is using this Infiniti/Nissan engine. Great review sir, well done!
Yes the 2.0L I4 not the Premium or Red Sport Infiniti aren't going to share their V6 knowledge with Mercedes so they can steel from them like they did DaimlerChrysler when they merged for a few years the 4.7L V8 Cherokee Limited & Mercedes Benz 430 SUV is the same exact vehicle check underneath each vehicle..
Surprised he was praising the "balance" of the car with the insane amount of understeer he was getting. Hell the only time I saw the car rotate was while turning under hard braking
beautiful and reliable car
I'm trying to decide between the the Q60 red sport, the Alfa Romeo Gulia or the Porsche Cayman 718
What did you get
@@sryofcrwsntme9517 I got the C8 Corvette and the Alfa Romeo. Check out the videos on my channel
@@vip_supercars3652 ok I've had 2 c8's. Looking at gr86 rn, pure drivers car but maybe to slow?
I really wanna see new design from Infiniti
Come check out Infiniti of Bayside, queens, NY if anyone wants to look more into the q60 or our other models.
Looks way better than any gtr to me
The looks can’t compare to the g35, one of the most beautifully designed coupes ever imho
Don't think it was really necessary to totally disable the TC as Infintii gives you a lot to work with in the sport modes,
but looks like you had a lot of fun with it.
Not sure how you were getting 7L/100KM though, best I've heard people getting is about 9.5-10L/100KM. lol
Liked because you used l/100km :)
Metric FTW!
I killed myself because there was no translation
This is giving me Vertigo
I love the design
Manual transmission plz
The base for next generation Fairlady Z?
That trombone exhaust 8:40😂😂
Guys check out the infiniti project black S thats the real GTR killer
