I found her because I liked grocery hauls, cleaning motivation and cooking. I stayed because I worried about her kids. I left because worrying about her kids caused me mental health issues. I've stated before on your channel I was never able to carry or to give birth to a child. That ability was taken from me in a heinous way (he is in prison now) but I always wanted to be a mommy. I married a man with 2 beautiful girls and I cant explain the overwhelming joy being a bonus mom gives me. I would give my life for my girls and seeing Alicia as well as other family vloggers treat their children as cash cows breaks my heart.

I’m so sorry about what happened to you.
But I wanted to say I’m glad to see someone else say “ bonus” instead of “step”.
I grew up with “ bonus dad and bonus family”
Now I have finally found my biological dad and his family and now also gained amazing new bonus family :) xx

I started watching her because of her Grocery hauls . Then it Started to dawn on me she was being wasteful.. I raised 5 kids as a single mom so I found it interesting and was impressed she didn't have to worry about money.. Then I found your channel and started to see things differently..

The thing I have questioned from day one is this: I follow Amy Maryon. She has 10 kids and she vlogs about grocery shopping and cooking and her family. She goes to Costco, low cost grocery stores, where sales are. Drive to a different town to a food haul at a cheap grocery. She cooks big batches of food labels and dates and will have freezers full of meals for the family and stuff the kids can bake or microwave on their own. She has “fragment fridays” where she pulls fragments (leftovers) and puts them together and makes new meals for snacking on weekends no waste! She’s great!
Why does this woman do virtually no cooking! No meals in pans in the freezer. Name brand everything and tons of it the “we don’t judge eating” is their excuse! You sit the kids down and explain the concept of a budget and income! Two name brand outfits the rest from places like Old Navy or even a really uptown thrift store?! They spend money like they are printing it! You can find great stuff you just have to look often!

My daughter got $500 for her birthday.. we took her shopping today to go spend her money. She wanted clothes and shoes. After buying 3 pairs of jeans she realized how fast money goes. & said “yea I’m done shopping” 😂
That’s when I said “yea so when you ask me and dad for this & that and wonder why you always done get it… now you know.. money doesn’t grow n trees & it’s something you need to work for them treat yourself” I think it was a good lesson for her. She needed to see how fast money goes on just a few things.

We have four kids, I shopped for 2 at a time. Spent under $400 us for full winter wardrobes including rain boots, full snow suits, school stuff for one kid, winter coats, school clothes, etc. We bought second hand, some stuff new with tags not that it matters, anything nice by the end of the season gets saved for the next kid. I literally cannot fathom this much money on back to school, we spent less than half of it on our week beach vacation!

The rest are adopted. You're so right though foster kids are not meant to be on any family vlog that's why I am so annoyed of Now I Am Known who popped up on my you tube feed with a vlog I'm getting a new kid. I watched it and was so annoyed that on camera he made his new foster kid age 3 to put on sun glasses so he can be in the vlog. He makes his other 2 foster kids wear sunglasses too. I couldn't watch and then commented on the vlog and I got slatted for writing your foster kids shouldn't be on camera.
I also was in thr care system and in my days yes things were very strict.
Things and times have changed in that even if a child is adopted or fostered (includes the UK) they can set up their own social media accounts.

My mom worked and still found time to take us shopping and split us up. She took my sister and I together (we're 17 months apart and we were always close in sizes). Then she would take my brother. We got her attention, and she was able to make sure we got what we needed. Took her two trips. Not hard.

The kids are having fun and taking full advantage of the shopping buying/choosing what they want. They are new clothes not hand ne downs, good quality, so shouldn't be a problem or anyone else's business. You think Alex is unhappy because he has a new jeep and living the best years of his life playing high school football, and teenage years. They are all growing up and doing things the kids otherwise couldn't do in other families.

Granted I do not have 12 children but I have five and fixing to have another one and it’s pretty easy for us to go to the store for school clothes and shoes and drop a couple thousand dollars and my kids get to pick what they want what they like but I’m obviously double checking sizes I’m not letting them go buck wild because I know in another couple months they’re going to have outgrown this shit and I’m going to have to be shopping all over again so it doesn’t pay when they’re at a growing stage to spend so exorbitantly I mean yes I spent $370 on custom Nikes for my son he plays basketball he wears them out he’s old enough now that he can wear a shoe for longer than a few months without outgrowing it and I work very hard to be able to provide those things for my kids and it’s not at the cost of our future either it’s not taking money out of our savings this family should be concerned because they can’t do TH-cam forever and ever this gravy train is going to run out and one teacher salary can’t support 12 kids in this lifestyle to which they have become so accustomed. Especially if she gets canceled like she should

I shop at the same Wegmans that Alicia does... they had to set ground rules with her for her to be allowed to continuing vlogging there (my friend works in the cafe there so I have a little insider info 😂) She has to come between either 6-8am or 10-12am when the store is least crowded. She has to inform them IN ADVANCE when she's coming. She cannot have her camera on anyone and certain areas of the store like the pharmacy and restroom areas are banned completely. They had to put guidelines in place because customers AND staff complained about her camera. I can assure you the managers are not fans of hers... But remember they're a business and they have to make money so turning her away is a loss to them. They compromise... I think it's fair BUT I've definitely seen customers in her vlogs.. she plays it close to the edge. 🤬

I lived in Rochester for two years about 8 years ago and we had SIX FEET OF SNOW because of the lake effect. I cannot even imagine buying summer clothes in august. Insanity.
I also wanted to touch on the name brand thing. Not really in this video but the overall. A lot of people who donate to shelters, schools who give to underprivileged families etc, usually donate name brand clothing. I’m not sure why but from personal experience I’ve seen this a lot. Possibly off season, very discounted items.
