This is Carmina burana on steroids. The old classics are great but Soken takes it to a whole new level. The only reason (imo) why this isn’t considered better then orffs song is time. I’ve been a fan of classical all my life and this wins. It’s not even close
One of the coolest things about 16's soundtrack is if you've got a keen ear you'll hear multiple elements drawn from 14's soundtrack, masterfully reworked to fit this new entry. If you look up "wicked winds whisper" which is the eureka field theme then around the ~54 second mark you'll hear the theme played at 1:34
This combined with away, beyond the heavens, and ascension is the musical equivalent to hearing Beethoven, Pavarotti, Arnold Roth and then Mozart in one sitting for a FF game
first time played this on BENEDIKTA battle, i wasn't enjoying the game that much until that boss fight, then heard this OST, and the rest is history, 10/10 overall.
