    16:10 shots fired.
We shouldn't need to have these excerpts in the hobby about dealing with slavery and bad things, but since wotc and other publishers feel the need to virtue signal and stick their heads in the sand about atrocities, I praise the author for putting injustice and bad things in their world for players to fight against as well as putting their flag on the hill where they stands. if there is no reason to be heroic, why even play in the box?

Exactly. I think it’s great to have this front and centre so therefore not hiding it.
Agreed, we shouldn’t need this things but hey ho, this is the world in which we find ourselves
Thank you for watching and commenting on my video

i think the metal rarity is my favorite aspect of the original Dark Sun.
The slavery portion: slavery still exists today. sure its horrible but ignoring it never helps.

Agree. It’s such a different spin on the fantasy trope but maybe it’s why it was (or seemed) never as popular as your classic worlds

personally, i like the art. it is in line with what i get hired for. thats ok- art is subjective. 😊

I don’t dislike the art, I’m just not a fan of such rapid changing art style from page to page. Though I never complained about White Wolf doing it (I’m sure a hypocrite 😂)
Cool, need to see the style you do. You’ll have to share more in the discord

    SWEET!
Anyone else have a problem with the affiliate link?
I use it and it takes me to the main page, not directly to ShadowSun product.

Yes the affiliate link will take you to DTRPG and should still link to anything you buy. I’ll add a specific one now for you too and remove the other one

My problem with they way some people react to controversial themes is how selective they are. Slavery is a big no-no, but feudalism is fine? Colonization is not something you can have in a game, but brutal wars are? And as an european I always find it hillarious that some american games shy away from themes of sex and nudity, but casual violence is somehow fine. Now I respect that people have different tolerance levels for stuff like that and don't want it in their personal games. And that is not a problem at all. But in return I'd expect that when I run games in ancient times I can have themes of slavery and colonization in my games without having to explain that this isn't the same thing as endorsing it. For me rpgs are opportunities to explore characters and societies different from the ones I want to see in the real world. For instance I abhore people who casually uses lethal force to solve problems, but rpg characters do that all the time. And it doesn't make us violent psychos.

Hi there. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I completely agree. People are way too offended by certain things (what tends to be the buzz of the week) but happy to let many more terrible things fly. Look at the music industry, rock music (satanic panic) always seen as evil, causes violence and many "evil" characters in films have it on but modern rap music gets a pass.
All of most of the past is considered evil for the modern viewpoint but without it, we couldn't learn and not repeat. It only those in charge felt the same and I guess like me, I RPG to escape from the modern day and live to try to (as well as we can) experience new things, the past, the future, in our imagination.
We can't change anything, but neither does erasing it help. Learn from it so no one repeats it.
