I've made a couple of trips to Mexico city this year and it's interesting how the news says Chinese EVs are "dominating" the market but after spending quite a few hours stuck in traffic I probably saw around 10% of Chinese EVs. Probably half of them are used for Uber. They have certainly grown very quickly to that 10%. In my opinion, it all depends now on how reliable they can be and if they become aspirational with the upper middle class. Most of the privately owned Chinese EVs I saw were in less affluent neighborhoods. My .02 cents 😅 Happy New Year and the best for 2025!
My father-in-law worked for Nissan/Datsun in Japan. His personal vehicle was and still is a Toyota. US carmakers arrogantly (see, labor unions) ruined their reputation and devalued their products. I never bought a U.S. vehicle after 1976. 2023 4runner ~ and loving my choice!
If Nissan partnered with xiaomi, it would be a game changer. Xiaomi has affordable Evs with incredible range. Xiaomi knows software since they were a threat to the iPhone at one point.
The new armada and frontier are stellar truck. Nissan will not go bankrupt because it’s a legacy Japanese brand. They won’t allow it, I actually bought come stock in the brand.
If Nissan can manage to chuck together an XTERRA it will literally save the brand. The off-road guys will love the drivetrain out of the new frontier. With the new 4Runner flop this is Nissan chance to pounce.
Hopefully this pulls Nissan 🆙 and not Honda Down!
Great commentary, gentlemen!

What if Honda took the Mitsubishi Triton and rebadged it for the US??
i hope it is not like the mcdonald douglas boeing merger where boeing went to crap.
Make Nissan the truck and SUV division of Honda.
You're welcome! hahaha
😂
More cheap CVT cars
Honda wants Nissan/Mitsubishi trucks. End of story.
