I used to feel like an absolutely useless mess when it came to home repair and improvement. Like, picture a soup sandwich holding a hammer. Thanks to hours and hours of your videos, I have the knowledge and confidence to do so much good work to an old house and garage I am inheriting. Thank you so much for all the work you put into these videos and for explaining everything in such great detail. I'm tremendously grateful.
I've discovered, and suspected, that in colder climates (below 30°F ) the plastic versions tend to break if used often, like landscaping equipment, blowers, weed whips, edgers, requiring extensive dismantling to replace it. Plus flying critters usually nest up inside the cover when not in continuous accessed or activity around outlet . Love the finished look though. Now if these are made with unbreakable thermal plastics..I'm in. I could sell these dozen a week, installed. !
You do nice work. Been watching your videos amazing how many haters and trolls saying how they would have done differently but don’t have any content posted. Keep on making great videos 👍
Good video. The only thing I was change is use commercial grade receptacles. They are slightly easier to install and generally have heavier duty components for durability. Though, I understand why most builders use the lighter duty recepacles to reduce costs.
Josh, you should look into the Arlington "IN BOX". It recesses the outlet into the wall with a nice flush cover, so you don't have to have the huge bubble sticking out of the wall.
Do you have a link to the sifing video? It did not show up on the screen. Looking forward to all these videos, I am doing a big outdoor kitchen right now and running power and lighting to a shed
You can't. Either need to install an outside, that is not inset, box as he did, or there are outdoor boxes that have the receptacle junction box on the outside as well, very bulky but would work in your case.
Really enjoy your content, but unfortunately the particular province that I reside within Canada requires "Red Seal" certified trades people to complete all electrical, plumbing and HVAC installations for municipal inspections...which totally sucks. I would love to save some $$$ and perform many of your DIY tasks that you have explained so well.
6:50pm I watch these videos too learn how to do something. It is very hard to follow when your going in fast forward. Imagine playing an album made for 33.3 on 78.

Good explanation. I will say that any outlet connected to a GFCI outlet on the down run is also GFCI protected.
Love the information. I’m going to put new siding on my house starting next week and I need to add some outlets.
Thanks 🇺🇸
Thank you for recording and posting this valuable educational video.

the best video on this topic.
That looks like a better version of the in use outlet cover I installed about a year ago.
I have used these now for a couple years and really liked them. They definitely work well!
Hello my friend I am watching from India🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳and I love Canadian and American infrastructure so much please make regular videos 😊😊😊😊
You attach what you call an electrical box (around 5:50) to the wall. What is this box? I don't see a link and can't find it. Thanks for your help!

Thanks, Denny! I don’t pay attention to negative comments or people. STAY POSITIVE! Thanks for watching!

I could understand that. Thanks for your input!

Those outdoor covers have come a long way. My house just has those spring loaded covers from back in the day.
Oh yeah, you don’t see this much anymore!
So in new construction we are having our shell built can we install the boxes for outdoor outlets before we wire the house?
Nice details on the installation.
Thanks! I do try to put in a lot of detail whenever I make a video. Thanks for noticing. Stay tuned for more videos to come!
What would you use in a situation where you have external lights that have a transformer that is too large for a standard in use cover?
Do you have a link to the sifing video? It did not show up on the screen. Looking forward to all these videos, I am doing a big outdoor kitchen right now and running power and lighting to a shed
Do you have a link to the electrical box?
Great video and very informative. What make and model impact driver are you using in the video?
do those gloves help prevent from getting shoked by electricity?
where can you get the siding trim out box kit
I got that from Certainteed. Hope that helps!
Do you install it in Jacksonville TX?
What if i don’t have a receptacle box installed under the mounting block ? How do i secure a receptacle?
You can't. Either need to install an outside, that is not inset, box as he did, or there are outdoor boxes that have the receptacle junction box on the outside as well, very bulky but would work in your case.

Thats too bad. in our area, you have to be licensed to do work on other peoples homes, but for your own, you do not need that.
I am having trouble locating the electrical box in this video. Can you someone point me in the right direction?
Stumm electrical box
@@reesebarrett2880 Thank you.
Why didn't you use a GFCI?
The breaker is GFCI. The whole circuit is protected as a ground fault. I hope that helps!

You can set the video speed to .5 or .25
I was hoping to learn something, but with you hpyer speeding the video up, i didn't learn anything.
go to settings and slow it down, he did that in the areas that were just stripping wires and connecting them to the outlets.
Those covers are junk and break quickly, and do not keep the water out.
And bugs love to nest in them. Yay black widows and wasps. 🤦
