As for John Anderson’s commentary, I was listening on the radio and you would have thought the players were all incompetent in front of goal when in fact they were immense. Great win for Eddie and the lads.

That could be Newcastle's undoing Incase they reach the final (Lack of a killer instinct) Am yet to decipher whether it is a genuine lack of potency in attack ...or they are creating multiple chances but of poor quality.
In almost 40 years, I have never seen a Newcastle TEAM like this one right now! It's bringing me to tears to see this lot come together over the last 12 months to fight for each other, lose together and celebrate as a group. Right from the start of Lord Howes era, he has galvanised this club with its fans again and I honestly don't care if we still don't win anything, all I ever want is to have a smile on my face after watching us play! HWTL!!!

@@ktom5262 Yeah, was gonna say. Best footballing moment I have was as a kid watching Newcastle 5-0 Man Utd with Phillipe Albert rubbing salt into the wound. Worst moment was Collymore 4-3. Hopefully these lads can give me and NUFC fans even better memories. HWTL.

I live in Atlanta in the US, but NUFC has been my EPL team ever since Miggy moved over. Will be there in April for the Tottenham match. Super excited!

An Evertonian here. We have huge problems at our football club but as a neutral if there's one club it's nice to see doing well it's Newcastle. Fans absolutely starved of success and some of the best fans around who have had to put up with some rubbish for many years under Mike Ashley. It's amazing the transformation under Eddie Howe in just two transfer windows. It's just shows you...If you get your recruitment right....

I know Longstaff missed a sitter. But my god the man is playing so well, the numbers of times he finds himself in those scoring positions but also vitally back to make the counter breaking challenges is astounding! Hats off man! Just add some composure to the finishing and this man would be an awesome but often undervalued part of this team. But the composure on finishing comment can be made about the whole team. This team has a wonderful balance about it, I know it feels like we must have lost some steam after the Leicester game by failing to score but we are playing some amazingly balanced attack and defending football, the only thing missing has been the finishing. Some luck and a bit more settling and I am sure we will get back that scorching form from before the World Cup! Going back to Longstaff , he finds himself in scoring positions but also back to make challenges whereas in earlier part of the season he was getting caught out constantly and his lack of speed was glaringly evident, Im sure eddie made him work on his tracking back, now he constantly finds himself in the right place to score and also make the challenges needed. I am quietly impressed.

It’s such an unfashionable style unfortunately. Keep ball seems to be the name of the game, when I was a kid we watched Serie A for that type of play (which I find boring to be honest). Good to see a team making it work 👍

Very overlooked and uncredited player, he's amense i think never stops running at the defence, every time he gets the ball he starts most attacks off, runs at the defence every chance he gets, pulls players apart and creates a shit load of space for other players, see him in this game alone 3 or 4 players chasing him for the ball, one of my favourite players if im honest.
Agree. I remember him being in the crowd after we’d signed him from being on loan, and we were playing rubbish. He was with his parents and all 3 watching the game looked super-glum. We said to each other ‘bet he wishes he’d never signed for us’.

I say this every time I watch one of our games... please don't break up this team. I don't even want to see big transfers to bring big names in, just look after this core. The culture and team chemistry is paramount. Fucking love seeing this after so many years of watching us struggle.
