I hope you find this helpful and that you see that it's OK for things to not be perfect. I'm far from perfect, but I can still train my horses, and so can you. 😊
I loved this video, as I have a two year old that I am trying to teach. I am not experienced, so I appreciate seeing the mistakes. Sometimes I feel like if things go wrong, I blame it on myself for not knowing enough. I really just need to start again, relax, and not pressure myself if things are not going 100% right ! I really admire your training style. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
@@BasicHorseTraining oh my goodness! Will you be recording any of her first outing? This will be fun to see. 😁 Looks like Wayne has recovered quite well? Always nice to visit with you Josie.😊
I have recorded her first outing, where I did groundwork first and then rode - that video is in BHT Academy, and she was a hot little number 😆 . Her first "proper" outing is to a dressage clinic and it is this week. I will video some of it and maybe post it, but I will wait until after to decide ... I may need a parachute 🪂 Wayne has recovered, thank goodness, but he is still working too hard!
Thank you for another wonderful & informative video! Beautifully done and lovely mare! I am curious as to what material that is that composes the ground of your paddock in this video?
I practice this with my horse. I can move my horse sideways with his shoulder, but then he will not move forwards...... He remains standing still...... I don´t know how to solve this problem..... I can walk next to/with my horse, but he stops, when I am standing still......
If you watch you see me "lead" Lily forward with my hand. You need to teach the horse to follow the feel of the rope and your body language to move past you. 😊

Thank you Josie, we have a 2 1/2 year old Friesian filly. We would like to start lunging. When is a good time to do this?

If you mean the surface of my arena - It is softfall and sand. Softfall is a type of bark chip that is used under playground equipment.
