I know someone who was in the cast of this show in the 1990s. He and other cast members were fired by Cathy's husband because they were Gay. The way he put it was, "I can fire someone for having brown hair!" But he missed the actor who played Captain Hook who was also Gay, but the man knew that if he complained about the purge that he would be next. That's what I think of when I see Cathy Rigby as Peter Pan.
I saw this show live back in 2004, and in 2007 i played Wendy myself in the theater group I was in, they changed this this scene is supposed to be only Peter and Wendy. It’s a little irritating when a good thing is messed with.
Because, if you are not aware, Peter Pan has been portrayed by women onstage since the beginning of the original play from 1904. Many famous women actors have portrayed Peter Pan onstage, as per tradition, ever since. And, Captain Hook is always portrayed by the same actor as plays the father. This is for emphasis that adults are viewed as the bad guys/are out of time, 😜 (Crocodile with the clock inside reference) ...
Of course, there have now been a few live action movie versions that have used male actors. And I love them. But there is something about the stage musical that makes my heart fly… pun intended. 😊
Cathy takes amazing care of her voice and it shows.
I've never been able to find another version of her singing this in the show other than the movie! This is awesome to hear her sing live!

Cathy Rigby has been acting as Peter Pan continuously for more than 30 years.
The fact that she did it for as long as she did is pretty impressive.
@@Leamichellefan2244 She ever came to Hong Kong to act performance of Peter Pan in a big football playground during the early of year 1976.
@@byktangify yeah but that’s when she didn’t sing or speak I think.

Why does Peter look like a fifty year old woman?
57 and iconic.
