Let’s not only praise the flyer, but also the bases. Whooooo! All that arm, shoulder, leg and back strength they have. Not to mention focus. The flyers having trust in them and the bases trusting her, it’s a connection that you have to have with your team and group.

As a base you have to be strong and keep good communication with the rest of the stunt group if not things won't go well. As a flyer we have to be strong,steady, tight etc if not we will hurt ourselves and our bases and that's good. This past year I had three concussions and I tore my Achilles tendon to the point I needed multiple surgery's and I'm still on physical therapy for it and won't be able to do my senior year of cheer. I wish people would stop hating on cheer saying it's to easy it's not a sport etc etc but unless they are in it I guess they can't understand

Kaya Thomas Hey to be fair it takes a lot of strength to lift a girl in the air and balance her while she’s doing a bunch of flips, the flyers are probably in the most safe position because even if they fall they know their stunt group of person is there to catch them. While the flyer is falling the person on the the bottom might get kick, slapped, of scratched. Both positions are very hard

When I showed up for cheerleading tryouts for the flyer position, all the girls who had made fun of me were there too. Guess which one got to be the flyer😏 I wouldn’t be the flyer if i was like everybody else. Embrace your true self!
I give gymnast and cheerleaders mad respect on what they have to put their bodies through just to be able to do any of this. I definitely give the gentlemen and ladies a standing ovation to hold their teammates off the ground/in the air I don't know how to put it but they're amazing.🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗😘😘😘😘
You see .. my trust doesn't come easy , and even when you have my trust I wouldn't even trust you to lift me up in the air and do all of those things . I was a cheerleader but I'm glad I didn't do none of that.
THEY ARE SUPER FUN!!! The trick is to be confident in your base, in my opinion. you just REALLY need to be confident and that’s the main thing. flexibility too

People say cheerleading is not a sport. Like, dance, AND GYMNASTICS are sports, and cheerleading is a mix of those, WITH all of this in the video. As a cheerleader who trains countless hours a week to be able to do things like this, it hurts when people downplay it. If you don’t think it’s a sport, if you call it ‘easy’ then go ahead and do this stuff. Then you can tell me it’s easy.
