A lot of cheer is turning into a sport called “stunt” it’s a shame that some schools still have unspirited teams, however lack of funding and the media always making cheerleaders look bad really discouraged a lot of people. I would like to point out that this is a drill team not a cheer team. Hopefully one day every school allows cheer to be more competition/all star style!

@@peewee2136 while there are multiple forms of drill (like winter guard, color guard, military guard, jr cheer), this is very much a cheer drill set (even if being done by a dance team or a various form of drill team, it is still how cheer drill sets are choreographed). But as they are in cheer uniforms, and not any sort of dance or drill uniforms, I will still call them a cheer squad (as many cheer squads don't actually cheer on another sports teams, but are dancers & athletes in thier own right that compete themselves at their own meets & for their own championships by doing routines such as this).

I love finding gems like this because they make me so happy seeing stuff like this. Sure you can hit some of the coolest moves in choreography, but if y'all ain't in sync then it fucks everything thing up, so props to these girls for being so on the ball.
A little background information for anyone wondering🤗 This is a drill team. There is a cheer team too, but what we do in drill is quite different. In drill, there are different styles of dance: military/drill (the sharp arm movements you see), Pom (kinda more “bouncy” with jumps, turns, & leaps), funky (more like normal upbeat dance), floor (on the floor obviously - and that thing when they were hooked up in two lines and used each other to move all at once, where the guy yelled, “what is that?!”, is called venting), kicks, ripples (in some sort of line(s) doing things in a ripple or synchronized movements, in which they try to line up their arms and body parts so it looks like one person from the front), and it’s not seen in this routine, but little hints of hip hop too. The team captains and lieutenants choreograph and teach the routines. This is for a school spirit assembly, but there are competitions too, which look quite different from this. The team also performs at football games on the field with the marching band doing get down and halftime, and at basketball and other games as well for halftime. Hope this helped^^

Seeing shit like this is truly remarkable, demonstrates how time truly does fly. I am in 11th grade rn, the class of 2021. I just think at times they were the class of 2012, but now 8 years later there is whole new class, different people the class of 2020! What I am tying to say is that if you are in the same grade as me the class of 2021 is a big year however thinking classes such as 2031 or 2045 is just insane. I will restate what I mentioned prior, in 7 years we will one day look back, reminisce on how our class was the best, relive our great moments, remember old Friends, but sadly remember that it is in the past and that time is cruel. I’m going to rant now bc im in a vibe wave. So currently I have a great group of friends, they are my bros for life, but with the ever so knowing that college is approaching and that Jake will be going to Virginia tech and me going to Michigan, while Connor is going to UT, just truly paints a depressing tone for the future. Yes I cherish my moments everytime I am with them, but I know one day we will have to part our ways, grow up and explore the world, and set up our futures for the hopes of one day starting a family, and beginning the new chapters that come to follow. I am 16 at the current date of February 23rd 2020, and I hope that when I look back in the coming years I can say that I lived, I conquered my ambitions, shot my shots and remained in touch with old friends. More on that later. I think I first experienced the realization that high school fly’s freshman year when I was watching our weekly student news and one of the seniors read out a short list of names saying that the people’s names he just read, he wants them to stay in close touch. Hearing that struck me hard, knowing that in high school we are held together under our parents roof, but going to college is the marking of the end and beginning of a new era.
And my biggest fear is that I will lose touch with these guys. That one day they will never return my text or snap and that is the last I time I had ever heard about from jack black. I know it is petty shit to be complaining about, but I believe it is smart to be prepared for when the time does come. But I guess as the late great master oogway would say yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift that’s why it is called the present. Well, I’m going to wrap up this long ramble with saying class of 2021 I am damn proud to be part of you! We will roll on into the unforeseen future, take the twists and turns, but one day wake up to found we made it. So class of 2021 believe in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eludes us now, but that’s no mater. Tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther... and one fine morning... so we beat on,boats against the current, Bourne back, ceaselessly into the past...
this is so weird, I had friends that went to this high school, it's legit like 20 min away from me. we'd always play them in sports (and usually lose). their drill team was always sooo good, so this doesn't surprise me hahah. it's a drill team not a cheer team so that's why there's no pom poms and such, I think it's called military style? idk
as a former high school dance team coach I would say you're 100% correct and likely military style although in our state military is a bit more complex and rigid.

wow this is beautiful choreography! everyone is very synchronized and i love everything about this. i feel like cheerleading is not as appreciated as other sports. i’ve never done cheerleading before, but i think cheerleading takes lots of strength and team work, i want to join a cheer team, but i can’t stir up the courage to join.

Emi Hayashi It's really not even that satysfying. take it from someone who does actual drill, not this "drill" they're doing. watch actual drill teams or exhibition drill teams and you'll be much more satysfyied. believe me, I fall asleep listening to the USMC Silent Drill Platoon.
Anyone who has cheered or danced realizes this is not difficult technically. All the moves are very simple, it's just about timing and cooperation and it looks amazing.
Most of what they did could be done by any of us. It's the synchronization that is really on point here and what gives it that kick. Their coach did a great job of working with what she had and turning it into gold.
It was good don't get me wrong. However I was a little underwhelmed, I was a dancer all my life, and on our dance team. The only thing I was really impressed by was the end with all the hand and arm movements. That was by far the most difficult thing.

So currently I have a great group of friends, they are my bros for life, but with the ever so knowing that college is approaching and that Jake will be going to Virginia tech and me going to Michigan, while Connor is going to UT, just truly paints a depressing tone for the future. Yes I cherish my moments everytime I am with them, but I know one day we will have to part our ways, grow up and explore the world, and set up our futures for the hopes of one day starting a family, and beginning the new chapters that come to follow. I am 16 at the current date of February 23rd 2020, and I hope that when I look back in the coming years I can say that I lived, I conquered my ambitions, shot my shots and remained in touch with old friends. More on that later. I think I first experienced the realization that high school fly’s freshman year when I was watching our weekly student news and one of the seniors read out a short list of names saying that the people’s names he just read, he wants them to stay in close touch. Hearing that struck me hard, knowing that in high school we are held together under our parents roof, but going to college is the marking of the end and beginning of a new era.
And my biggest fear is that I will lose touch with these guys. That one day they will never return my text or snap and that is the last I time I had ever heard about from jack black. I know it is petty shit to be complaining about, but I believe it is smart to be prepared for when the time does come. But I guess as the late great master oogway would say yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift that’s why it is called the present. Well, I’m going to wrap up this long ramble with saying class of 2021 I am damn proud to be part of you! We will roll on into the unforeseen future, take the twists and turns, but one day wake up to found we made it. So class of 2021 believe in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eludes us now, but that’s no mater. Tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther... and one fine morning... so we beat on,boats against the current, Bourne back, ceaselessly into the past...

this is so weird, I had friends that went to this high school, it's legit like 20 min away from me. we'd always play them in sports (and usually lose). their drill team was always sooo good, so this doesn't surprise me hahah. it's a drill team not a cheer team so that's why there's no pom poms and such, I think it's called military style? idk
that makes a crap ton of sense because as a drill member, they had really good alignment for a cheer team. it was too good to be true ;-;
I did JROTC I’m highschool and we had something called unarmed drill that was sort of like this but this looks more like a color guard team to me
as a former high school dance team coach I would say you're 100% correct and likely military style although in our state military is a bit more complex and rigid.
@@pogieogieoh Yeah I was in JROTC and on the unarmed exhibition team. We did ripples and formations similar to these. We never laid down on the floor though, I think it was against the rules lol.

wow this is beautiful choreography! everyone is very synchronized and i love everything about this. i feel like cheerleading is not as appreciated as other sports. i’ve never done cheerleading before, but i think cheerleading takes lots of strength and team work, i want to join a cheer team, but i can’t stir up the courage to join.

Anyone who has cheered or danced realizes this is not difficult technically. All the moves are very simple, it's just about timing and cooperation and it looks amazing.
Most of what they did could be done by any of us. It's the synchronization that is really on point here and what gives it that kick. Their coach did a great job of working with what she had and turning it into gold.
It was good don't get me wrong. However I was a little underwhelmed, I was a dancer all my life, and on our dance team. The only thing I was really impressed by was the end with all the hand and arm movements. That was by far the most difficult thing.
