This was my favorite movie as a kid. I recently rewatched it and I can't believe this was supposed to be middle school. I always thought this was high school
ThisForeverr Here’s the thing... that’s too stupid so I refuse to believe you. I just refuse. She had a possessive boyfriend and I could have sworn some of them drove. No way were these girls 14 max. No way! Even if they were, I refuse to accept it! _Refuse!_
I am not latin but i love them love the culture and everything about it.........and yes this movie was underrated......was only a lil girl when this movie came and loved it ever since MY IG@ _officalkai_
@@jeniferlopez3057 it was very diverse and gave us móvies that where actually based on true events. Raven was our it girl with one of the best and highest ranked shows. Sadly it will never be the same. But hey atleast we now have disney + for that nostalgia feel.
The end of the movie always gives me chills. I love❤these beautiful ladies right here. They all inspired me to dance. They don’t make Disney channel movies like this anymore. It been 21 years since this movie came out. It feels like 2002 when this movie first came out. The time just flies by so fast. I remember me and my sister watching this movie all of the time. Disney channel will always live in my heart. No matter how old I get.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Tammie Page haha it’s still a big stretch though. I was age 11-13 in middle school. That’s 13-15 years younger than this woman was. I could maybe see her playing an 18 year old but come on. Haha.
I remember when this came out and i was super excited bc school was about to start. My mom and I were at Walmart back to school shopping, and i told her we had to get home bc Gotta Kick It Up was on soon lol. This is probably my favorite Disney Channel movie. I always wanted to do cheerleading or a sport, but i had arthritis. my mom was always scared i would have a never flare up so, i wasn't allowed to join anything like this. I started 4th grade that year, and it was a lot of fun. I remember 5th grade being a lot of work and projects. Our teacher said it was preparing us for middle school. Little did he know, he was right bc i went to catholic middle school. Anyone that has ever been in catholic school knows how hard it is lol. what a time to be alive though. i'm glad I grew up with this Disney Channel.
My older brothers use to pick on me because I used to watch this movie as a kid.. but now if they where to tease me about today.. I’ll b like, so and I’ll watch it again!! This movie is definitely a classic.. Disney don’t make em like they use to..
This is my all time favorite Disney channel movie. I love this movie it brings back so many memories. This movie brings back my childhood memories.😘😘😍😍
Ok I just realized a full circle moment when watching Barbie. This was the first film I saw America Ferrera in and their phrase was “si se puede!” Thats where I learned what it meant when I was a kid. At the end of Barbie, America Ferrera says “si se puede” whoa.
one cool thing about Gotta Kick It Up: Valente Rodriguez (aka: Ernesto "Ernie" Cardenas) played Esmeralda's dad. He would also star in another Disney Latin sports biopic film McFarland USA which also starred da legendary Kevin Costner.
I was OBSESSED with this movie as a kid. They dancing was A1, the representation and body diversity was so good. Also, I like how the white dance teacher wasn’t portrayed as a savior to the girls
0:12 can’t believe she just standing there! And not even dance yet! I know she was nervous but she dance through it and I’m glad she didn’t standing the whole dance!
This was one of my favorite Disney Channel movies. I recently rewatched it and omg brings back so many memories If it's a dance team then why do they have pom poms? Pom poms are for cheerleading. They're not really cheering in this movie tbh
They are middle schoolers … she has a boyfriend who dropped out of school… of middle school? More like high school no? Besides she mentions she needs credits for university
0:12 alyssa push daisy and I know she try to wake her up! And I know she trying to dance and daisy just standing there still and if they would loss this competition and we already know they gonna blame on daisy!
I loved this movie. But seeing it now, Cherrleading contests are SO MUCH MORE INTENSE. Like...the big moment for this was the split. Cheerleading has come a looooooong way
This was my favorite movie as a kid. I recently rewatched it and I can't believe this was supposed to be middle school. I always thought this was high school

Yes I realized. Disney had a lot to offer back in the day for different diversities. Now it's not so much
Laya-Lay Burke Fr...and ppl say that Disney wasn’t diverse back then....I feel like it was more diverse then than today

I love this film! Latino/Hispanic representation! Was really hoping for a sequel back when it aired ❤
One of the few Latino representations of Disney movies I had during my childhood. Great movie!!!
I love how serious n almost eerie the best friend delivery was
whispers quick “ let’s go!”

Back when Disney knew how to make movies that were realistic.
It is based on a true story, that's why it was realistic haha
Yea a 25 year old playing a middle schooler is so realistic
@@RipiaKim, I actually forgot that this and some of them were 😅
I love how this is supposed to be middle schoolers and the lead actress was a 26 year old woman 😂 right. That’s realistic.
Actors never play their age and plus she looks young so what

I believe they were actually in 9th grade- Highschool.
Noona loves Jeonghan no it says they go
To Marshall Middle School.
It’s actually based on a true story about a middle school cheer team.

Si sé puede!!! Yessss, this scene was so hard!! 👏👏
I loved this movie sm when I was little. 😭😭
yass. the original wildcat cheerleaders 🤣🤣
so Camille as daisy plays a middle-schooler at 26 - gotta love the commitment to her art
A 9th grader to be specific. & actors in their 20s often play characters in their teens
I miss my childhood omg this was one of my favorite movies ever
so glad i can watch this again on disney plus!
So underrated
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I felt so grown watching it cause it wasn't a cartoon lol. #Disneymemories
my cheer squad did this dance for a halftime dance and even our dance team was impressed....
Favorite scene was when her boyfriend pulled up with the homies to get her to the competition.
I haven’t seen this movie in years!! I feel old lol
Latina power!
I have ALWAYS wanted to know what the song was in the beginning but never could find it
Wow so the main actress daisy was 26 during this film 😱
This is my all time favorite Disney channel movie. I love this movie it brings back so many memories. This movie brings back my childhood memories.😘😘😍😍

This movie is basically a kid-friendly version of _Bring It On_

He is her real husband too!
Whoa
I was OBSESSED with this movie as a kid. They dancing was A1, the representation and body diversity was so good. Also, I like how the white dance teacher wasn’t portrayed as a savior to the girls
I love this movie as a kid!!! This was my first ever romantic movie I was rooting for chuy and daisy, I really wanted a bad boy after this🤧😂😂
Dont be the best which is always changing. Be Your Best very valuable lesson
The first song sounds almost exactly like bombs over baghdad by outkast mixed
Everyone loves this movie
Yesss! Throwback movie💯🙌🏾
I love this movies so much I wish it was in again
I LOVED THIS MOVIE!
I met the cast member from this in 2009. I was working as a Waiter at this hotel. Camille Gauty was the guest.
Side note how are they in middle school in this movie but arent even middle school aged 😂
same reason why in even stevens and lizzie mcguire they had high schoolers playing middle schoolers
some places consider 9th grade middle school
Yea and daisy's boyfriend had a car lol
Molly Wolly not to mention he was a drop out so a middle schooler dating a high school drop out yet this was a Disney movie....
This was before Disney Channel was so closely monitored. It used to be really good😂🤷🏼♀️
Loved this movie 😍
Same
They were GOOOOOD
I remember dis movie 🎥 still one of the greatest disney movies 🙌🏼
I’ve been looking for this movie for years .. I always keyed in Kick It Up.
Celia TruckerLady it’s on Disney +
They’re just dancing and jumping no cheering, stunting, or tumbling. But still a good movie for young kids.
This was the best of the “nice white lady” movies
The remix is still 🔥🔥
I loved this movie!!!!
I freakinggg loved this movieeee 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Back when Disney used to make good movies
Loooove this movie!
0:18 I’m glad America said let’s go to Daisy and she saw that look of America Ferrah
This was my movie when I was a little girl 😊😊
what song is that called? I've been trying to look for that song!?!
Lady Earth FR!
Omg me toooo!! 😭😭
I wonder if Susan Egan(Ms. Bartlett) as a professional dancer, was involved at all in the choreography for these numbers
still one of my favorites
0:12 can’t believe she just standing there! And not even dance yet! I know she was nervous but she dance through it and I’m glad she didn’t standing the whole dance!
I remember this when it’s on Disney channel since childhood
This was my favorite movie
What song was this I've been trying to find it
Tell me why I still know this dance?
One of the best Cheer related Disney movies ❤
Awesome!!
This was one of my favorite Disney Channel movies. I recently rewatched it and omg brings back so many memories
If it's a dance team then why do they have pom poms? Pom poms are for cheerleading. They're not really cheering in this movie tbh
Is that La Fiera from the rookie !? Lmao I love this movie! I was so young and lied to about what school was gonna be like lmao
This was my childhood 😊
Omg I miss this!😫❤
It’s weird they said middle school when her boyfriend was a high school dropout that worked as a mechanic
I had a crush on Chuy (Daisy's Boyfriend)
What the songs they danced to?
I need a full extended version of the song Shake Shake by Charliene Licera. Where’s the link to the extended version?
The main character reminds me of Mario Lopez
What's the name of the last song that was playing in this clip
Freaking awesome
Thank you Disney+
do you know the name of the first song?
No
Nicole it’s called shake by Charlene licera
No not shake but literally the first song that they danced to shake was the second song
Sharolaid! ❤️

Cheerleading has come a looooooong way
This isn't cheerleading. It's a subcategory of Dance and Cheer called Pom.
My youth
The movie in italian language Is possible?
Good stuff!
Sharolaid brought me here
Just watched on Disney+
"Si se puede"!
Wats the name of this song 🥰
