The black background, the flowing long hair, and the Fender beginning to smoke as its master shreds one of the most legendary songs in Earth's history-this is the epitome of greatness. Clapton is God!
3:05 to 3:24 is my most favorite part of this, solely because of that bend. He's done that many other times too, but that bend spoke volumes to me. Sensational!
@@EthanCruz95 It's a 2 whole step bend, Ethan. He's bending the B string from the 18th to the 22nd fret. Be careful whilst practicing that. Wish you good luck!
You can see how the audience loved this. The much love and respect that we have for this great man is because of the passion that he puts in his performances. Keeps winning my heart, E C. Thanks a ton for uploading this video! I am deeply grateful to you, E.C. Chronicles!
I wish they would show more of the band. You’d barely notice Phil Palmer, Ray Cooper and Alan Clark were there as well playing their respective asses off…. Great performance.
Usually I would agree about showing the others, but seeing the way he looks here, I can't imagine why anyone would want to see anyone else. Put a suit on a statue of a Greek God, and that's Eric Clapton. Gorgeous song and super gorgeous man.
at 3:05, there is a section of the solo that has a ringing D power chord throughout but is still playing the descending and ascending part of the original riff, does anybody know how to play it??? or is it impossible with one guitar?
The difference in his expression and energy during the whole coda section between this performance and the 1988 tokyo performance before the divorce is so sad :(
I don't care what anyone says about his sometimes 'blandness' and 'boring' output every so often... The fact is that when E.C. is on form he's easily one of the world's best and most listenable musicians.
The cigarette burning while he's on fire is the best irony ever. Clapton is more than a God.

Yeah he doesn't bend up a step... it's sometimes a whole staircase !
@@alicegrant3731 Haha! Good one, Alice.

Yes Alan Clark played 1990. Chuck Leavell played 1991
It's actually Greg Phillinganes and Chuck Leavell on keyboards in this concert

Okay, as you can see and hear that Eric is just playing the D chord, so he isn't playing the riff. The riff is played by Phil Palmer.
👌👌👌👌👌

2024 🎉
yeah....24 Nights is the third greatest live collection behind Frampton Comes Alive (2)...., and Jimi Hendrix at the Filmore. (1)
The difference in his expression and energy during the whole coda section between this performance and the 1988 tokyo performance before the divorce is so sad :(
i thought he don't do Layla in 24 nights, thank you!
He did perform Layla a lot of time in 1990 and 1991 I.e. the 24 nights period. You can find the whole concert videos from those years on TH-cam.

To me he is never ever not on form 🌟
