Here is the detailed video of the Patek Philippe 5990 Nautilus Chronograph Travel Time explained in details by Mr Philip Barat, Head of Watch Development at Patek Philippe.
Hi, they are very similar, depending on your needs. Same movement base, the 5980 is Chronograph Flyback only while the 5990 adds a Travel Time function that allows tracking a 2nd time on your watch (1 hour hand for Local time and another one for your Home time). Very convenient to use as a traveler. The 5990 is only 0.3mm thicker. A little difference on the chronoraph though: the 5980 has an additional 12h chronograph hour hand hence more useful if tracking >60min. events.
@@HighTime1 Hi, thank you for thr reply. I Appreciate you taking the time to offer a more in-depth description of this watch. Does the 5980 have a higher retail value than the 5990?
Is it better than a 5980?

@@AyandaKula My pleasure, I'm glad it helps. On Patek's website, it seems the 5990 is more expensive (+8/9%) than the 5980.
