Is it better than a 5980?

Hi, they are very similar, depending on your needs. Same movement base, the 5980 is Chronograph Flyback only while the 5990 adds a Travel Time function that allows tracking a 2nd time on your watch (1 hour hand for Local time and another one for your Home time). Very convenient to use as a traveler. The 5990 is only 0.3mm thicker.
A little difference on the chronoraph though: the 5980 has an additional 12h chronograph hour hand hence more useful if tracking >60min. events.

@@HighTime1 Hi, thank you for thr reply. I Appreciate you taking the time to offer a more in-depth description of this watch.
Does the 5980 have a higher retail value than the 5990?

@@AyandaKula My pleasure, I'm glad it helps. On Patek's website, it seems the 5990 is more expensive (+8/9%) than the 5980.
