    That pastel tile was soooooo much better than what they always do. I'm not one to "follow the trend" and be a copycat. I want the design of my house to be uniquely me. When it's time to sell, then I'll dumb it down and do what everybody else does.

      This is flipping not home decor.
      The pastel tile would be so hard to work with thd nes owners furnishings Basic neutrals are better.

      I hated the pastel tile, and I like color. When you're flipping a house, you have to remember you want to sell it quickly.

      I would have choosen the pastel tiles. So many furniture would match to them. For that pricerange it has to be outstanding.

      And most furniture clashes with that pastel as well as creating a distinct style clash.

      Agree, the pastel tile was way better. The grey is just ugly and out of place. They should’ve gone with MCM style throughout.

    Bathroom floor didn't go with the house. The kitchen needed more storage. Should have eliminated the door in the kitchen

    The exterior after could have been a lot, lot better. It's hard to say the exterior is improved. Kitchen island turned out too small, backsplash is cool up until the green light, lol. Interior is better overall but euro showers would have been much better.
    --It's been a long time since they've showed this house. I have zero recollection of it. Wonder what the source of the smell was from??

    • @angelbulldog4934

      I sometimes wonder if, after everything has off gas and the aroma from paint and carpet and such as disappeared, the bad smells come back. I've seen that sort of thing happen.

      Good point. Think it quite likely if they never dealt with the source. If you correctly use proper enzymatic products the results are great, however.

    That house looked like in a more suburban area. You can't get those high prices for a suburban area. People pay high prices because they want to be in the center of it all.

    I've been watching Christina and Tarek's programmes (from Australia) for years. I'd love to see them create an accessible home for someone in a wheelchair. Disability bathrooms are functional but incredibly ugly and a wheelchair accessible kitchen is a challenge for designers. If Christina and Tarek can make a disability bathroom work Christina makes it look beautiful, she could start a new design trend of enormous benefit to the disabled community. She certainly has the talent.

      A euro shower would add accessibility and a sense of spaciousness but you never see it added.

    • @josewilliams6094
      @josewilliams6094 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@b_uppy I looked up the 'euro' shower (thanks) and it's similar to what we call a roll-in shower. A main gripe is Aussie disability showers are invariably ugly, with slippery tiled floors and stainless steel safety / grab bars. The shower head that slides on a post is often too high to reach so two shower heads, both with mixing taps are needed - one at waist height. There seems to be one Australian design, based on the sterile looking hospital roll-in bathroom with a hard, uncomfortable wooden folding seat. There's very little shelf space provided and I've yet to see bathroom pull out storage baskets on sliders. Hooks for towels and clothing often placed too high on the wall - a spacious shelf with a low mirror is needed next the basin for shaving or makeup - and I've yet to see a heated towel rail in the right place. My gripe list goes on.

      True. Much of the designe is very able-bodied, male/(tall person) centric. Some 'handicapped' adaptations would benefit a lot more people but designers tend to ignore that. Love the euro shower because it also helps with overflow issues. Think designing for optimal benefit is the way to go.

    • @josewilliams6094
      @josewilliams6094 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@b_uppy You've raised a major point re overflow, always a problem with roll in showers. A soaking wet floor ensures drying off and dressing creates another hazard. I'll read more about the euro shower to find out why that draining is more efficient.

      Mixed pastels are a poor tile choice for a place you're wanting to sell. That would be contrary to the purpose of fixing it. Don't ask others to take risks with their money...

    I would have moved the kitchen to the lower level. Then you had space for a walk in pantry and huge kitchen space with dining area and even couch w/TV. Upper level could be huge living room and game area. I hate when you come inside a house and you walk into the kitchen! Don't people cook? All of the smell goes everywhere and it has to be spotless 24/7

    • @b_uppy

      A downstairs kitchen would work if they put in a dumbwaiter, be safer than precariously carrying bags of groceries downstairs. The laundry could easily be located down there as well since the stairs are no longer an issue...
