- Negan is shown to be a charismatic, cocky, manipulative, brutal, and ferocious man with a sarcastic, inappropriate sense of humour. Negan is a brilliant strategist and a strong, effective leader, having kept hundreds of people alive and is worshipped by many and feared by others. When he was the leader of the Saviors, he was shown to have had complete control over his vast group and was questioned by no one, acting as a complete dictator. Negan also acted like a cult leader, as the Saviors all knelt in his presence and when asked who they were, they all responded in unison "Negan". Negan appeared to care about the well-being of his group as shown when he personally killed Abraham as punishment for the slaughter of many of his soldiers at the hands of Rick and his group. Negan believes he alone can save the people around him and is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure their survival.
He’s my number one favorite character in The Walking Dead and he’s definitely the most redeemed character
Rick must of knew there was something still human left in him
I believe he knew he was a good candidate for survival he was a leader and a teacher

I loved negan from the start but I also hated him at the same time thankfully they redeemed him in later seasons and he ended up being the best character on the show

Fun fact, I was one of the fans who stopped watching the show directly after Glenn's death. I recently decided to get over it, and rewatch the show from beginning to end. Loved it, and even ended up having Negan as my favorite character in the end when I finished up on the main series and all the spinoffs, lol. I was adamant to my friend that I would not forgive Negan, despite them telling me I would, and that bitch was right, lol.
He ended up being my favourite too in the end he was the only character that kept me watching

Wrong, Negan and the saviors would've came across them and enslaved them eventually like they did all the other communities they took over. Rick and his group struck first and ended up biting off more than they could chew. But the end result minus maybe Abraham and Glenn dying at that current moment would've been the same no matter what.
