"Situated Expectancy - Value Model of achievement-related choices and behaviors to other theories of the self and motivation"

In this talk, Jacquelynne will summarize her latest thoughts about the Eccles et al. Situated Expectancy Value theory and suggest points at which this theory could articulate with other self and motivated behavior theories. The SEVT was designed to help us to understand why people do what they do in achievement-related situations: Why they make the behavioral choice they do and why the exert differential engagement across options and settings? Although the theory might be applicable in other situations, the theory itself and most of the empirical work focused on achievement-related tasks and settings.
