Quit WoW for FFXIV...no ragrets. Freshly started sprout, people will literally stick with you to the very end in FF, they will explain the tactics if you're new, joke around and actually communicate...several times i get invited to a discord chat by the tank cause they usually lead the dungeon and the poor guy explained EVERYTHING to me as I kept dying for hours till i eventually got the hang of it. You'll never find those kind of people in WoW...an absolute precious game with the best community ever. Ask a question in the chat people will KILL to be the ones to answer it and help you...heck even after i got the answer they WILL check on me with a whisper if i got it done, like I have no words to explain how happy i am with the game.
Yeah as a sprout tank I always ask at the start of a dungeon or raid if there are any mechanics I should know. I always get answers and helpful advice. And as a tank I then start to remember this stuff to help other sprouts when I go through again. Very fun!
@@elkuko8686 It's great. i can reflect this person's experiences. For the first time ever, I got to be a tank in FF14. I could never do it in WoW because I HATE alts, but FF14 lets you play any class on the same character, so I just changed my weapon, power leveled (there's a NICE mechanic that makes leveling your other classes go crazy quick), and then I started tanking dungeons. I always announce, "My first time tanking this dungeon, so sorry if I get us all brutally murdered." Responses are positive 99% of the time, and usually come with assistance on how to deal with bosses.

The whole twitch ecosystem consistently of low life's, children, and some normal people with lives, careers, family friends (outside the virtual space). But the latter is much much more rare than the former. Streamers such as asmon are actually extremely socially adept and understand how to create content to contour to their respective audience.

yea, having all the classes on one character is one of the huge pluses for me on ffxiv, I would never have gotten into tanking if I had to redo the MSQ every time I wanted to try a new class

It will get boring after a while it’s not bad or anything, just the game is too wholesome and slow because Japanese developers love do stuff meticulously and most westerner gamers have no patient for it.

If anyone is interested in FFXIV around 8/11 they’re making a major patch that’ll make it even more accessible for new players. Also they will soon make the base game and first expansion free. It’ll be a good time to give it a try if you’re on the fence.
@@ramiensharifi958 Up to the first expansion, so the base game, A Realm Reborn (ARR) and Heavensward (HW) will be free to play, alongside an improved ARR experience. ARR has a very sluggish pace, which turns a lot of people off from continuing to play. It's a lot of boring back and forth kind of storytelling where not much really happens and you're just looking at a screen. A lot of the unnecessary quests have been removed to streamline the journey to 50 (end of base game) and make it easier. A common phrase people threw around to new players was to just get through ARR, it will get good in HW. Hopefully these changes rectify that issue.

I'd suggest you search up those restrictions first to know if it'd be an issue or hassle to you. My brother wanted to try it but as a player who loves crafting, not being able to access marketboard, held him back

i played ff14 only for some month. i maxed one class and some jobs, but for me it got boring over time because there was no awesome gear to fight for. at the point i played it was just waiting for the new update where u get the new best armor easily. also the game has over 50 hours of filler main quests...
Ffxiv is a wonderful game with a beautiful community tbh. I never seen any video about and ffxiv player bashing on wow bc we dont have to. It's always old wow players explaining why they left wow. Ffxiv has the best development team to date and its amazing if you ever want to try
it's kinda like that on most blizzard titles huh. Always found it weird for example in hearthstone that the players absolutely despise the game yet don't even consider maybe trying out something else. The last point he made, about wow players agreeing with people trashing the game, it's just sad, i'd rather see a community that cherishes their experience anytime.
As she tells her heartfelt story you can see it starts to resonate with him. She has planted the seed for him to move as well someday. WOW is an empty experience now.

They didn't "fix" the game FYI. They literally remade the game from 0. While this was happening, the original FF XIV was left online, free of sub for people who had already paid for the game. When 2.0 (which we know as A Real Reborn) was released, they fit the destruction of the old world [the old game] and the start of the new one (2.0) as a part of the story. Characters who exist since the 1.0 version of the game still have a unique brand ( a tattoo on the back of the neck that you can toggle). Even if you don't care for FF XIV, I highly recommend the documentary she mentions for sheer curiosity/content alone.
Making the Destruction of a poorly made game into it's lore it's actually awesome, I mostly been playing WoW but I love mmorpg on general, installed FFXIV today gonna try it after work
I absolutely loved that they made burning the original to the ground a canon story to the current. It's hilarious and a great use for the original, because the original was like watching a ship sink while it was on fire and also at the same time happened to be getting repeatedly hit by lightning to try and make it sink faster.
A Nekomimi is way worse than a genuine Anthro creature based on mythology, tho. Otherwise we could all accept that Battleships can be little girls too and find that normal. LOL
I can't imagine him having the patience but I do think it would be such great streaming content if he did. People love his reaction content, imagine Asmon reacting to all the shit happening in MSQ. He should definitely play it part time, hyper casually and take his sweet ass time starting off cause otherwise he'll definitely get burnt out on this game's pace.
I like the sense of progression as a ffxiv raider. I like the raid and dungeon design. I love the way the game looks and sounds but I hated the msq. It's perfectly fine to enjoy the well designed mmo elements and dislike the story. Since the majority of the combined time played is after you complete the msq.

Doubt unless this guy cares about the story its pretty fucking lacking in terms of endgame content. Aside from that its mainly just doing old content for mounts etc. Pvp is pretty dead and isnt that fun either sadly. Still love playing as my WHM but knowing him he wont swap. He loves endgame content and as bad as WoW currently is its much better in terms of endgame

And it's not even the most current content; Omega is several years old now. Eden is the Shadowbringers equivalent. I'm not saying FF14 doesn't have endgame content (Ultimates are much harder), but don't lecture someone on endgame content when you've obviously never touched it.

I'm so glad I switched to final fantasy 14. The shadowbringers hype was well deserved I thought I liked WoWs lore, but I actually loved every bit of final fantasy's story and am nerding out harder than ever And the skips are for alts mainly. People enjoy the job quests and leveling alts, and the ones that don't also have that option. I boosted a ninja and I regret it, so much that I kinda wanna make an alt and level ninja myself.
Can we PLEASE have Asmongold react to this video after everything that went on with blizzard this last year AND his experience with FF14? It would be amazing to see him agreeing more with her then with himself.
I remember watching this video when I was starting to get into FFXIV! Zepla HQ makes great content. I now enjoy both WOW and FFXIV. Each game has its own strengths and weaknesses, but both are excellent MMORPGs. This was a fun video to watch :)

nobody is arguing that WoW isnt a great game that holds many core emotions for people. Its BECAUSE the game felt so precious that she and many others felt trapped. Her first video is all about bucking that sunk cost fallacy and learning to let go of something when you arent having fun. That applies to FF14, if and when that game ceases to give you the joy it did you must make the emotionally healthy decision to stop playing and let the memories be memories.

I had been playing the Warcraft franchise since WC2 back when I was 6, but I ended up quitting for WoW Classic (Since I didn't actually start playing WoW until late in Wrath, for reasons too long to explain here) and BfA just killed my passion for the game. I hadn't fully quit retail yet, but I had been playing Classic more, but when that fucking cloak was added, that was it, I was just sick of them adding yet another forced grind to the game if you wanted to stay somewhat competitive in raiding.

"they fixed it" that's an understatement of the century if I've ever seen it. 😂 They developed content to keep original players as happy as possible, rebuilt most of the game from the ground up in secret, and then made the transition of one version to the next canon with the biggest, craziest in game event that was basically the end of the world. Just the ballsyness alone to attempt such a plan deserves credit let alone how well they did it.
@@PNKXOG yeah the finale had GMs directly spawning monsters to siege the major cities, apparently the players were so efficient at killing them the GMs just resorted to spamming bosses n shit to try and overwhelm the players, but the great goobbue wall of ul dah held. And then, after weeks of watching dalamud getting bigger in the sky (it started doing that before they announced any of this btw) and kicking ass to save the realm, the heroes fail and the calamity descends. The sheer fucking balls, i swear.
@@PNKXOG There's a 3 part documentary on the development of xiv, especially 1.0 and the transition to ARR. And they spend some good time talking about the final day of the original ffxiv. If you look around for people talking about the end of the game, it was version 1.23B.
I've played Wow since late 2007 and just recently started playing FFXIV. I'm not a weeb, but it is a gorgeous game even with the weird kitty girls and stuff. The last few years in Wow, I had the same experiences as she describes, super discouraging after paying a sub for over 12 years (still have have my sub active with wow actually.) People in FFXIV have been, by and large, much friendlier and very welcoming, kind of like what wow was years ago. Plus the game really incentivizes high-level players to help newbies which makes it easier to get good and make friends. I wish wow had a similar system.
@benjovi55 FFXIV's world building is incredible. Every FF game is standalone except for direct sequels like X-2 and they all share themes like Chocobos, summons and such. I highly recommend you give it a try, I am not exaggerating when I say that XIV has the best story in the entire franchise. And they just made the entire game up to the end of the first expansion free, so you can play Dark Knight and such.

As someone who has played both WoW and FF14 for many, many years, here is one thing I’ve noticed: when FF14 players are watching someone express that they love WoW, they NEVER shit on them the way that WoW chat is shitting on her for loving FF14. Why? Because FF14 players have nothing to prove, whereas WoW players feel the need to defend their game at the cost of their dignity when someone else merely expresses liking another game if they consider it competition. I believe that should tell you everything, and recent events corroborate that. WoW is basically a cult, or at the very least has instilled cult-like thinking in its player base.
Other peoples opinions are what give him his career. It has nothing to do with how thick his skin is. It is just pragmatic. Losing a bunch of subs does not help him monetarily. He won't play the game because there isn't that much upside.

It's laughable is what it is. You're playing a MMORPG, and forgetting the RPG part of it. "ROLE PLAYING GAME" There has to be story. The story is what makes the game. If you're just in it for the gameplay and the mechanics, then that's fine too, but when a game is designed it generally has a story to follow. WoW has this. FF14 has this. All games have generally had this. Hell, even Conan Exiles has this, as thinly veiled as it is(You are exiled, locked in a land with a curse bracelet. The objective is to get the pieces together to make a keystone to unlock the bracelet and leave the Exiled Lands. Though, honestly, people usually just like to play the game for the survival aspect of it and not pursue the end objective. And there's lore behind the lands you inhabit themselves.) All of these games have story and lore. FF14's just happens to be AMAZING, where in comparison WoW looks like it's written as a fanfiction

I think you're reading too much into it. Asmon loves the lore and the story but, as a story. The game itself is just a game to him and he appreciates the lore separately.

Yet, if you have watched Asmon for years... he worships & loves Arthas. We can all argue over which game is best for an eternity without coming to an agreement, but one thing that is a straight fact is that WoW's devs could and should take a lot of notes from FF14's devs. Especially on how to treat their game and player base
Have you ever played the game? Genuine question, there's more hard mechanics on normal bosses than there's in the entire history of WoW. The only problem I have with the game is that is filled with weebs and the world doesn't feel that great because of the instances. I actually feel sorry for people that played wow for so many years now that they can't simply just quit the game to play other mmos or put time into other games without feeling guilty.

(WoW stole so much from other MMOs and combined them all for instance) New Blizzard is just beating a dead horse while they try to make their game more grindy (Relying on RNG for talents let alone loot), have less content (No more Class Armor Sets) and dumbing it down at the same time. (High ilvl loot for doing jack shit) I don't even play FF14 anymore but I can tell FF14 actually has developers that give a shit and still run the show rather than their publisher forcing them to milk more money from the game. They're a lot like old Blizzard where they stole a bunch of good ideas from other games to create the latest FF14.

Honestly, the biggest reason I would personally recommend people checking out FFXIV, is the community in that game are just *NICE*. They're super patient, and as someone who has a lot of anxiety anyways, I used to tank back in Wrath (I was actually in one of the top guilds in the world at the time, for PvE progression). But I always had that anxiety of tanking, where people would tell you to kill yourself if you wiped on accident. In FFXIV? I regularly run dungeons I've never done before, and I'm not even the most talkative player. But when I wipe (often because I didn't know a boss's mechanics beforehand), people are constantly encouraging me, calmly explaining fights, just SUCH a positive community. Hell, I was in one of the larger raids (I want to say it was a 30-man?), and I single handedly wiped the ENTIRE RAID. In WoW, I would've been crucified for that, but in FFXIV, everyone was just super chill, when I apologized they all said not to worry about it, and they just explained the mechanics. And this wasn't a group of friends or guildies -- this was a PUG! It's definitely not for everyone. It lacks a lot of the more user-friendly polish that Blizzard's games usually have; Transmogging (called Glamour in FFXIV), for example, is kind of confusing at first. But personally, I find the game far more enjoyable thanks to its incredible kind and inviting community.

I get fake positivity feeling like a shallow shroud, but enforcing and encouraging positive community interactions filters into the community in real ways. The politeness and eagerness to help is a real feature of the community and it is due to many things. One thing that hold true of every community is that ignoring any festering negativity by not incentiving against it leads to aggressively combative communities. Happy communities are a deliberate effort and I'll take that occasional passive aggressive niceness over tantrums and hatred that gets ignored.
@@cookieface80 The ban hammer isn't too severe to be honest, for most of the shit I've said and done i would have been banned several times over, but i haven't even gotten the warning, to get ban you need to either be really incredibly asshole-ish or just display that you are using a third party tool such as ACT, but even then just don't talk about it and you are ok
Little update on that a few months later. After a bit of soul searching, I decided that games weren't for me and to pursue my own creative endeavours instead. So in the end, it's neither FFXIV nor WoW.

I quit WoW because of drama in the community that was physically affecting me. I picked up FF expecting the same thing, but I am so happy with the community that I’ve seen. I’ve had a great time and it’s been like when I started WoW back in classic all over again.

I love her content. Her personality is adorable. I started playing coming from ESO. And this game truly does take you in. The community is very friendly. The second I joined I was approached by these high level players and they invited me to their “company” and they answer all my questions. It’s really helpful.
This must be a joke.The whole "GCBTW" was spawned due to the community's insane toxic nature and refusal to learn.People constantly play poorly because they're childish and tend to respond with "you dont pay my sub" enough times for it to become a damn joke.Its only made worse by GM's and Yoshi-P himself refusing to take action against these shits and straight up BANNING people who offer the slightest bit of advice or criticism. So I dont know what game your playing,but it sure as hell wasn't Ffxiv.
Zepla is amazing. I play on the same server as she does. One day she just approached me (a total stranger), opened the trade menu and handed me a weapon that fit my level because my old weapon was like 7 levels behind. I didn't even know her! She just checked out my equipment, CRAFTED A WEAPON and just GAVE it to me. Apparently, this is something she does for fun (even when she isn't streaming). Seriously, she is just a really, really nice person. The FFXIV community is really low on toxicity as a whole. I have about 120 days of total playtime and rarely had any problems with toxic people. Of course, there ARE toxic people, but the community as a whole is much more likely to give you advice and encourage you than to bicker and flame.
Same. I've played WoW for a decade, found anything after WoTLK was just hot garbage. Went to FF14 partway through BfA and I've never been happier to make that switch. The story for FF14 is very rich and when Shadowbringers came around I was floored.
Well I went to FF because playing wow became a chore. I cleared savage very casually (I like how fights in ff are designed, very few random mechanics, coordination in a small (8man) group is key) without having to farm herbs for 3 hours to have the necessary consumables for 3 hours of raiding.

So to sum it up, just talking or worrying that ur beloved game will somehow recieve a toxic train from a streamer or another game, is just pointless and stupid... it will never happen.

@Anderson Kleiton Honório it's not the first mmo on console, but with crossplay and ppl are able to play it smoothly, it's pretty impressing thing, but i don't know the date of the console version, i'm not sure FF14 was on console at launch, he is pretty greedy on perf in order to run, i'm not sure 2004 console can handle the game.

What ended up being a bit wholesome was that afterwards ZeplaHQ turned out to be in the chat and when she begun streaming she was talking about wanting Asmon to try the game so she would help him get into it more easily, certainly made it seem interesting even if I don't find FF appealing.
I don't think Asmon would ever get into it. Game is very slow-paced, terrible PVP and pretty boring quests in general. Only thing ff14 has is a better community.

I left WoW after 14 years last year to FF14, I will NEVER, EVER go back to WoW! Once you play 14, you will see the community is great. Sure PvP is lacking, but there is so much more to the game!

@@ElvenMans The art-style never sold a game for me; personally found Wow to be kind of bland in that area. There are some beautiful areas, but the characters all felt like cut and paste clones. When i got my first helmet that had a visor and found out i could adjust it in FF14, i knew i wasn't going back to WoW. Then i found out about dyes and glamour, which allows you to re-do your armor at any point in a major city from pre-saved pallets. Warcraft Transmog has nothing on FF14 glamours, and the cost of setting them up is a one-time thing. I can shift between those sets with impunity in major cities.

Yes FFXIV is not a bad game but I cant see myself quitting wow to play it full time. I play FFXIV once in a while but I always get bored quickly and feel like theres nothing to do other than sitting in the cities and emoting others

Freshly started sprout, people will literally stick with you to the very end in FF, they will explain the tactics if you're new, joke around and actually communicate...several times i get invited to a discord chat by the tank cause they usually lead the dungeon and the poor guy explained EVERYTHING to me as I kept dying for hours till i eventually got the hang of it.
You'll never find those kind of people in WoW...an absolute precious game with the best community ever.

Yeah as a sprout tank I always ask at the start of a dungeon or raid if there are any mechanics I should know. I always get answers and helpful advice. And as a tank I then start to remember this stuff to help other sprouts when I go through again. Very fun!

For the first time ever, I got to be a tank in FF14. I could never do it in WoW because I HATE alts, but FF14 lets you play any class on the same character, so I just changed my weapon, power leveled (there's a NICE mechanic that makes leveling your other classes go crazy quick), and then I started tanking dungeons.
I always announce, "My first time tanking this dungeon, so sorry if I get us all brutally murdered."
Responses are positive 99% of the time, and usually come with assistance on how to deal with bosses.

In regards to FF14, it's a positive imo. The devs live and die by their success because in Japan failure in your profession is incredibly shameful. The devs of FF14 think success = money. WoW devs see it as money = success.
If anyone is interested in FFXIV around 8/11 they’re making a major patch that’ll make it even more accessible for new players. Also they will soon make the base game and first expansion free. It’ll be a good time to give it a try if you’re on the fence.

@@ramiensharifi958 Up to the first expansion, so the base game, A Realm Reborn (ARR) and Heavensward (HW) will be free to play, alongside an improved ARR experience.
ARR has a very sluggish pace, which turns a lot of people off from continuing to play. It's a lot of boring back and forth kind of storytelling where not much really happens and you're just looking at a screen. A lot of the unnecessary quests have been removed to streamline the journey to 50 (end of base game) and make it easier.
A common phrase people threw around to new players was to just get through ARR, it will get good in HW. Hopefully these changes rectify that issue.

So I'm only about 4 minutes into this, just wanted to say that I don't care what game you are playing, hearing someone talk about that one glorious moment in a game they love just makes my day.
I remember watching a video where people reminisced and were happy taking about all these things from Final Fantasy VI, which is what they were playing, and their joy infected me, despite having never played the game.

They didn't "fix" the game FYI. They literally remade the game from 0. While this was happening, the original FF XIV was left online, free of sub for people who had already paid for the game. When 2.0 (which we know as A Real Reborn) was released, they fit the destruction of the old world [the old game] and the start of the new one (2.0) as a part of the story. Characters who exist since the 1.0 version of the game still have a unique brand ( a tattoo on the back of the neck that you can toggle).
Even if you don't care for FF XIV, I highly recommend the documentary she mentions for sheer curiosity/content alone.
The original 1.0 was shut down for 9 to 13 months before 2.0 released

It's hilarious and a great use for the original, because the original was like watching a ship sink while it was on fire and also at the same time happened to be getting repeatedly hit by lightning to try and make it sink faster.

I like the sense of progression as a ffxiv raider. I like the raid and dungeon design. I love the way the game looks and sounds but I hated the msq. It's perfectly fine to enjoy the well designed mmo elements and dislike the story. Since the majority of the combined time played is after you complete the msq.

And it's not even the most current content; Omega is several years old now. Eden is the Shadowbringers equivalent.
I'm not saying FF14 doesn't have endgame content (Ultimates are much harder), but don't lecture someone on endgame content when you've obviously never touched it.

I had been playing the Warcraft franchise since WC2 back when I was 6, but I ended up quitting for WoW Classic (Since I didn't actually start playing WoW until late in Wrath, for reasons too long to explain here) and BfA just killed my passion for the game. I hadn't fully quit retail yet, but I had been playing Classic more, but when that fucking cloak was added, that was it, I was just sick of them adding yet another forced grind to the game if you wanted to stay somewhat competitive in raiding.

@@PNKXOG There's a 3 part documentary on the development of xiv, especially 1.0 and the transition to ARR. And they spend some good time talking about the final day of the original ffxiv. If you look around for people talking about the end of the game, it was version 1.23B.
I've played Wow since late 2007 and just recently started playing FFXIV. I'm not a weeb, but it is a gorgeous game even with the weird kitty girls and stuff. The last few years in Wow, I had the same experiences as she describes, super discouraging after paying a sub for over 12 years (still have have my sub active with wow actually.) People in FFXIV have been, by and large, much friendlier and very welcoming, kind of like what wow was years ago. Plus the game really incentivizes high-level players to help newbies which makes it easier to get good and make friends. I wish wow had a similar system.

@benjovi55 FFXIV's world building is incredible. Every FF game is standalone except for direct sequels like X-2 and they all share themes like Chocobos, summons and such. I highly recommend you give it a try, I am not exaggerating when I say that XIV has the best story in the entire franchise. And they just made the entire game up to the end of the first expansion free, so you can play Dark Knight and such.

As someone who has played both WoW and FF14 for many, many years, here is one thing I’ve noticed: when FF14 players are watching someone express that they love WoW, they NEVER shit on them the way that WoW chat is shitting on her for loving FF14. Why? Because FF14 players have nothing to prove, whereas WoW players feel the need to defend their game at the cost of their dignity when someone else merely expresses liking another game if they consider it competition. I believe that should tell you everything, and recent events corroborate that. WoW is basically a cult, or at the very least has instilled cult-like thinking in its player base.

It's laughable is what it is. You're playing a MMORPG, and forgetting the RPG part of it. "ROLE PLAYING GAME" There has to be story. The story is what makes the game. If you're just in it for the gameplay and the mechanics, then that's fine too, but when a game is designed it generally has a story to follow. WoW has this. FF14 has this. All games have generally had this. Hell, even Conan Exiles has this, as thinly veiled as it is(You are exiled, locked in a land with a curse bracelet. The objective is to get the pieces together to make a keystone to unlock the bracelet and leave the Exiled Lands. Though, honestly, people usually just like to play the game for the survival aspect of it and not pursue the end objective. And there's lore behind the lands you inhabit themselves.) All of these games have story and lore. FF14's just happens to be AMAZING, where in comparison WoW looks like it's written as a fanfiction

Have you ever played the game? Genuine question, there's more hard mechanics on normal bosses than there's in the entire history of WoW. The only problem I have with the game is that is filled with weebs and the world doesn't feel that great because of the instances. I actually feel sorry for people that played wow for so many years now that they can't simply just quit the game to play other mmos or put time into other games without feeling guilty.

Honestly, the biggest reason I would personally recommend people checking out FFXIV, is the community in that game are just *NICE*. They're super patient, and as someone who has a lot of anxiety anyways, I used to tank back in Wrath (I was actually in one of the top guilds in the world at the time, for PvE progression). But I always had that anxiety of tanking, where people would tell you to kill yourself if you wiped on accident.
In FFXIV? I regularly run dungeons I've never done before, and I'm not even the most talkative player. But when I wipe (often because I didn't know a boss's mechanics beforehand), people are constantly encouraging me, calmly explaining fights, just SUCH a positive community. Hell, I was in one of the larger raids (I want to say it was a 30-man?), and I single handedly wiped the ENTIRE RAID. In WoW, I would've been crucified for that, but in FFXIV, everyone was just super chill, when I apologized they all said not to worry about it, and they just explained the mechanics. And this wasn't a group of friends or guildies -- this was a PUG!
It's definitely not for everyone. It lacks a lot of the more user-friendly polish that Blizzard's games usually have; Transmogging (called Glamour in FFXIV), for example, is kind of confusing at first. But personally, I find the game far more enjoyable thanks to its incredible kind and inviting community.

I get fake positivity feeling like a shallow shroud, but enforcing and encouraging positive community interactions filters into the community in real ways. The politeness and eagerness to help is a real feature of the community and it is due to many things. One thing that hold true of every community is that ignoring any festering negativity by not incentiving against it leads to aggressively combative communities. Happy communities are a deliberate effort and I'll take that occasional passive aggressive niceness over tantrums and hatred that gets ignored.

Little update on that a few months later. After a bit of soul searching, I decided that games weren't for me and to pursue my own creative endeavours instead. So in the end, it's neither FFXIV nor WoW.

I love her content. Her personality is adorable. I started playing coming from ESO. And this game truly does take you in. The community is very friendly. The second I joined I was approached by these high level players and they invited me to their “company” and they answer all my questions. It’s really helpful.

Zepla is amazing. I play on the same server as she does.
One day she just approached me (a total stranger), opened the trade menu and handed me a weapon that fit my level because my old weapon was like 7 levels behind.
I didn't even know her!
She just checked out my equipment, CRAFTED A WEAPON and just GAVE it to me.
Apparently, this is something she does for fun (even when she isn't streaming).
Seriously, she is just a really, really nice person.
The FFXIV community is really low on toxicity as a whole.
I have about 120 days of total playtime and rarely had any problems with toxic people. Of course, there ARE toxic people, but the community as a whole is much more likely to give you advice and encourage you than to bicker and flame.
I have played 40 hours or so of FF14 and I have literally never spoken to another human being outside of "hey" and "my bad" in dungeons.

Well I went to FF because playing wow became a chore. I cleared savage very casually (I like how fights in ff are designed, very few random mechanics, coordination in a small (8man) group is key) without having to farm herbs for 3 hours to have the necessary consumables for 3 hours of raiding.
Crazy, huh? To be able to play the game instead of having to engage in a fulltime job just to get the option to play the game.
For me the fixed mechanics makes it unfun pretty quickly, fights get boring after 2-3 clears.

Toxic players usually just want to kill someone and then flame him and then tell him how much superior they are..PvP is the main source of toxicity in mmos.
Usually they are good players but not the kind of players who will just read endless dialoges for months in a story, just to engage into pve content... the moment they step into the game, they will immediatly ditch it.. way before lvl 50.
Also these players usually are not the kind of players who are paying for games...And FFXIV is a VERY expensive game.
Buying the expansion which are very expensive compared to all mmos + subscription.
These money requirments are used as filter as well for these toxic players.
So to sum it up, just talking or worrying that ur beloved game will somehow recieve a toxic train from a streamer or another game, is just pointless and stupid... it will never happen.

What ended up being a bit wholesome was that afterwards ZeplaHQ turned out to be in the chat and when she begun streaming she was talking about wanting Asmon to try the game so she would help him get into it more easily, certainly made it seem interesting even if I don't find FF appealing.

Game is very slow-paced, terrible PVP and pretty boring quests in general.

I left WoW after 14 years last year to FF14, I will NEVER, EVER go back to WoW! Once you play 14, you will see the community is great. Sure PvP is lacking, but there is so much more to the game!

The "problem" is mainly that the content is very spread out in different niches, so of you're not interested in some of those niches then it will feel like there's not much to do. But it's got a ton of stuff to do, old and new.

@@ElvenMans The art-style never sold a game for me; personally found Wow to be kind of bland in that area. There are some beautiful areas, but the characters all felt like cut and paste clones. When i got my first helmet that had a visor and found out i could adjust it in FF14, i knew i wasn't going back to WoW. Then i found out about dyes and glamour, which allows you to re-do your armor at any point in a major city from pre-saved pallets. Warcraft Transmog has nothing on FF14 glamours, and the cost of setting them up is a one-time thing. I can shift between those sets with impunity in major cities.

Yes FFXIV is not a bad game but I cant see myself quitting wow to play it full time. I play FFXIV once in a while but I always get bored quickly and feel like theres nothing to do other than sitting in the cities and emoting others

Eh. If you play either wow or ffxiv you aren't losing much either way. WoW do have way better pvp(tbh any mmo with pvp is better than ffxiv pvp lol) and more interesting(debatable though) dgs/raids. FFXIV community is way defensive on their game and honestly this harmed more than made it good, lots of bad wow rng are making its way into ffxiv, terrible to gear up your main prof nowadays.
