Are you sure about that. There have always been pretty depressing games out there. There was even a whole Era of war games which are a reminder of the wars in real life with some pretty fucked up stories. Some of the earlier call of duty for example or gears of war. I think you might of just been younger when you played those games dude.
Game stories based off real world is different to restricting artistic expression for the sake of modern cultural expectations and decorum. This whole topic runs parallel to freedom of speech
@@Mrpoop-zw2wh They were focused on telling stories instead of being cringe propaganda rubbish. That's what Walter actually means. The censorship is a hell of a lot worse these days too.

Remember when Neil Druckmann fired the most accomplished female writer in videogames because her writing wasn't 'feminist' enough.. Uncharted, Last of Us. Dead.
@@deanwilliams433 Well Neil is the biggest soyboy loser in the industry, but there's no denying Naughty Dog games have always been masterpieces. TLOU2 is a technical marvel, pushed industry boundaries, just like Uncharted 4. But its story was just stupid and filled with forced woke garbage that also ruined Joel's character. TLOU2 sub is justified in many. You can't get that much hate if you haven't been the best in the industry for generations. People have high expectations
What's even crazier about characters needing to reflect current politics is that it applies to villains too: You can have a genocidal mass murderer no problem, but you can't make him genuinely racist in a truly offensive way, because that's somehow suporting racism???
In entertainment it's best to stay away from certain topics but racism can be done with fantasy type characters like elfs calling out dwarfs for example the problem is stay close to real life.
This is what I’ve been saying. We girls don’t want to play ugly characters & modern games make all female characters unattractive. When I have a better body than the chars in most AAA games… that doesn’t make me want to play 😂
I married-up big time, and my wife gets comments from other women about her looks every time we go out somewhere. She also plays games and puts 100+ hours into RPGs like Skyrim, and she always makes her characters attractive. Attractive females exist, and some of them play games. I'll admit, even as a man, I always make my character an idealized better looking version of myself. Either that, or a hideous green skinned ghoul with a bowl-cut, like I made in Elden Ring.
"Kay is already being described as the female Han Solo." Sooo... they need to compare her to a male character just to give her a leg to stand on? Imagine if she was interesting enough to be compared to herself.
This is what I've been saying for a long time ever since they started genderbending superheroes and whatnot. It only proves that the creators themselves don't feel confident a female character on her own can make it to popularity unless her origin is taken or even completely alternate universed a popular male character to be female, yet feels the utmost need to cater to the demand of diversity while also being too afraid to make the female character her own cause that might be controversial. So it's no surprise Kay is described that way cause the creators likely felt they needed to use the base form of Han Solo for her to make it, which is bullshit. Give us original female characters that don't feel like lesser versions of a popular male characters.
It's crazy that in an age where we're told to praise Onlyfans stars for empowering themselves with their sexuality, we have the same people telling us video game women are oversexualized.
The people saying this shit don't have consistent values and attempting to take what they say seriously is an exercise in futility. We need to get this straight. These people HATE YOU. At best they just see you as a mark to extract money from. They say whatever they need to in the moment to simultaneously status signal and shit on the things you like out of malice
I think the perfect example is 2B and A2. This game is about to turn 10 years old, but girls still cosplay these characters. No one is forcing them to. They just like to do it because they are beautiful characters. When the creator of the game was asked why the female characters look like that, he said “because I love beautiful women”. Yes, that simple and that honest.
I feel you. We play games to escape like reading a novel or playing a board game with friends. They got rid of everything good in games and made them political. I think game developers messed up going corporate now we have political ideals and advertisements not video games
The thing is there is room for a char like Abby, bc there are women bodybuilders IRL & even butch women, but u still need the majority to be femme & a few to be super hot

Games used to be gatekept, especially PC games. Now the floodgates have opened and the normies sunk their fangs into the industry and that means the suits come in and buy out the small indie developers and start implementing bs like microtransactions.
The last time I really enjoyed a game was The Witcher 3. Everything since then has been downhill. Arguably everything was going downhill before then, but Witcher 3 was the last hurrah.
Most "old gamers" are like this now. We know what a good game really is like. There's no comparison between the trash we have now and the greatness that was years ago. I really feel bad for the new generations.
Yup and I've even started to look at older games that I didn't like at first, another chance. I figure, at the very least, these games were well-made and not complete slop like nowadays.

Never forget: for one women who says that she doesn't like new games like that, there is also a game designer how thinks that this woman has no idea what she wants and he knows it better.
well that is exactly how game devs think because part of their job is to make a decision based on what they believe the majority of their playerbase will enjoy. so i think you may be the next einstein
(good) Gamedevs do know what players want, more than they do. Like, literally. It's documented. Yo, science b**tch.. Lemme explain. Obviously it's my more nuanced than that statement, and by science I just mean it's a documented phenomenon. You can look it up. Players will naturally min max the fun outta games if you allow it. People don't do what's most fun. They do what's most efficient. If the most efficient behavior in your game means a terrible gameplay experience, that's what they will do. The LAST thing you wanna do is give them what they say they want. And it's not about what you want either, it's just: Make the experience fun. Straight up. That's it."Game fun? Game good." Simple.
They haven't just removed their physical beauty but also their feminine personalities. The irony is that in the name of feminism, these developers have removed all feminine traits in women and replaced them with masculine traits.
No it means exactly that. Attractiveness is a part of femininity. Personality is also portrayed masculine or feminine. Your understanding is limited by how deeply you understand the issue
Who gives a fuck, I'd play a whole game as an unattractive decaying grandma if it meant the gameplay was as good as dmc 5 or doom eternal. This is such a non-issue. There are a lot of problems with modern games and this is the one people want to talk about the most for some reason.
Uncharted 2 was great but it was still more gameplay focused, while last of us was more story focused, plus it got way more popular and broke into the best games of all time

In the communist regime where I grew up, fantasy and SF were a medium where you could freely discuss otherwise banned topics and make people think about serious issues. Watching these people effectively doing the same thing as that regime (telling you what to say and how to think, etc) is disgusting and scary.
And yet there still are washed up people who think 'past tries were a "wrong/bad" communism, but you must let us try to do another one' (and then one more, and so on...)
It has been enabled by people that would put instant gratification above important principles, as in throwing money and attention in the direction of these things when they shouldn't. "Not going to play this hyped game" sounds like a threat to them, then they complain that hyped game is bad in some way once the need for instant gratification has been fulfilled.
1:47 Erasure of femininity...? Tess in The Last Of Us is a 51 year old woman going through a zombie apocalypse surviving day by day killing infected and or doing random jobs for ration cards so she could buy food... If you're creating a realistic game (which Naughty Dog was doing) a person like that shouldn't look like a supermodel in her late 20s/early 30s with makeup on.
I got called a pick me for the first time the other day. A woman made a video saying they wanted romance options in Elden Ring, and that all games would be better if they had romance in them. I simply said "No thanks, games don't need to incentivise women to play them with romance". She got really aggressive and assumed I was a man, when I pointed out I was a woman I got absolutely dragged it was too funny 😂
Romance never has to feel forced or unnecessary and while I think Romance isn't that bad and she was just rude I do think Romance wouldn't feel as good as how you think it would in elden ring. It can be cool in the next game tho,IF our character can finally talk
I think it was more about being able to have it rather than being forced to go through it. I like romantic relationships in such videogames like BG3, I am early gen-z guy
@markpalmerton6625 Dragged is when a lot of people go in on you in the comments section. Basically calling me all kinds of names etc. like a bunch of bullies essentially.
It's the age of gaming for Alyssa Mercante and nobody else. It blows my mind how we can't customize the main character to what we want in Outlaws among a whole slew of other issues. We could do more in 2003 with Knights of the Old Republic.
Leftists are forcing you to play a Transformer in Star Wars: Outlaws. Look at a picture of Humberly González, IRL. Then look at her character in SW: Outlaws. Case closed.
People play games to escape and have fun. Part of that for a lot of us is seeing an ideal world, even if that world is teeming with monsters. Having beautiful people in your game is nothing to be ashamed of.
Palworld, Helldivers, Stellar Blade, Wuthering Waves and Black Myth Wukong are all games this year that did incredibly well and none of them were made in America.
Pretty sure that's by design. Investors are investing in "untapped" businesses in other countries and are forcing domestic companies to tank with current politics. It's all about growing their money in Other countries and then reinvesting in the US when the economy tanks enough.
I think this is one of the reasons the Indie games scene has kind of exploded over the last decade. Indie devs have to focus on making their game as fun and enjoyable as possible because that is what sells the game.
@@dustysmoke4996 This is what I don't understand. BG3 is pretty damn woke. But it brought great story telling, compelling characters, minimal tech issues, and at a decent price. One missing component of this conversation is about how games in the past had more motivation to be good. Not only because they couldn't patch stuff later to make it better, but because their monetization strategies often included sequels that could be released at a much greater rate. This gives developers a reason to ensure that their games hit certain quality benchmarks while appealing to their base, so you will be more apt to purchase their future products. Nintendo, FromSoft, and Capcom seem to be some of the few major developers who still use this strategy.
People like to hate on Nintendo for PR and how they handle the legal side. However, Nintendo made a decision long ago to think about how they can make there business last long term. They weren't always making video games. But they shifted there business to them. And even with gaming they recognized certain trends ahead of time and made smart decisions to avoid future problems in the console wars.
@humanchannel9421 Not even close. Protecting your IP under Japanese law is a necessity that has almost bitten them in the past. So yeah, they both seem legally predatory, but it's a different rule set they're playing by. Financially, neither are particularly predatory compared to other major gaming companies. They are simply doing what is necessary to compete in a saturated market.
@@yujiro424 That's a nice story, but Capcom has some of the most disgustingly predatory monetization in games, commonly based on gambling, but often simply based on predating human psychology. Look at any modern Capcom game - it's filthy, much worse than most western devs. As for Nintendo, their name is synonymous with greed, so not much of an argument.
The weird thing is that they "ugly-fy" characters to make them more "relatable". But who the fuck looks at an ugly character and thinks "wow he/she is ugly just like me!" Why cant an "ugly person" relate to a "good looking person"? I dont get it. Also, its roleplay and fantasy. If you can choose whoever you want to be then you would pick to be hot, everyone would.
I disagree. I think it is the case that everyone (in this context meaning the vast majority) would choose to NOT be ugly and be a 6 to 8/10 rather than a 9 or 10/10. Being a 9-10 has problems in scale equivalent to those being a 1-2. And it is obvious why an ugly person cannot relate to a good looking person. They have completely different life experience. That's like saying a short guy should relate to the problems of a guy who is 7 feet tall.
@@StoneDeceiver The "hot people problems" are not depicted in games though. People get to make their character as hot as they like, getting all the benefits but none of the downsides. You wouldn't get stalked any more by NPCs in a video game just because you made an attractive character.

This is usually because some of these games are made in the spirit of older games. - The vast majority of newer AAAs are horribly expensive, misguided, attack or is disconnected from their consumer base, etc. - Emulators and Roms have allowed access to many games that some have never played. They are simple, fun, and entertaining, with an utterly enormous library of older games. - Because of Emulators and Roms, many individuals have done translations for games that were never published in their nation/home. - The modding communities for older games are amazing, with Fallout 4 and Skyrim just two examples of the countless video games in which you can customize the games to your whim. - Some can argue nostalgia. Some can argue that these were the games we grew up with. Some can argue that the old games simply worked. And they use their gayness as a shield to never receive punishment or criticism for their nasty behaviour. I've been told I'm not a "real" member as a bisexual so many times over the years its part of the reason I don't really go for groups anymore, I'm just out here doing my own thing.
I watched a video yesterday that drives this point home. There's a TH-cam channel called "no cap on god" and he went undercover at the DNC convention as a gay guy. Pretending to be gay caused all these people to act completely different towards him vs if he went up to them as a straight white male.

Idk if there are more toxic people than outside, but the toxicity in there is just continuous, dishonest and spreads rumors in no time. It's different and you have to walk on eggshells and then some.
41:00 Classic WOW is an S-Tier for sure but TBC was A-Tier easily and you can argue for S-Tier. They added Arenas, Heroic dungeons, Guild Banks, and a lot of quality of life improvements without ruining the spirit of Classic. Horde had Paladins via Blood Elves, and Alliance had Shamans via Space Goats but no new classes. Classes still very much had their identity. While flying existed you had to be level 70 (or 68 if druid) and it cost a lot of gold that even at the end of TBC it was still amazing to see someone roll up on a Gladiator mount. I think the talent tree was probably at it's peak during TBC with JUST enough added/changed to really round out classes and specs. Crafting/Enchanting was just way better, especially with gems being added. The only things it lacked was 40-man content and while the isle was fun, they really shouldn't have added the catch-up stuff BUT I give is pass because it was the absolute end of the expansion.
They really do! Its not explained in the video but older games had more handcrafted elements. As games became bigger and more detailed, individual items were turned into classes of items.
Red flags in Assassins Creed Shadows: 1. Using an historical person as a main character. 2. Using a main character not from the culture and region. 3. Use of Chinese building structure in Feudal Japan. 4. Ubisoft stealing a flag from an army recreational group. 5. Hip hop music playing when Yasuke fights. 6. Ubisoft being involved with the edits around Yasuke on Wikipedia. 10. Ubisoft using Chinese Mandarin in the Kanji in a game set in Feudal Japan. 11. The pushing of LGBT stuff into the game (which also makes no sense in the realm of the animus). 12. Ubisoft working with a writer whose main "prominent" work is about monks being in relationships with young boys. 13. Ubisoft stealing the katana of Zoro from One Piece for Yasuke. 14. I have to be honest, I find a lot of women don't understand consent either. It's not really too surprising in a world that promotes narcissism and entitlement.
I find it weird that Asmon thinks his female friends confide in him as they would confide in a close gay friend or a close female friend. There's no way in hell that his female friends all had issues with consent with the men in their lives and all told Asmon this. At most, they might have had issues with online men, because online many people (not just men really at this point) think they can do and say whatever the hell they want without consequences, but in person? I'm quite certain most men are afraid of false accusations or prison time in general or just happen to be good men (shocker). There's not a single man I've talked to in person that doesn't have those things in the back of their heads when interacting in public, especially with women (and especially if they are aware of how different men and women are). Just seems like a weird take to me to say that most men have issues with consent, when it's clearly a small minority that usually is terminally online (and when they aren't, they end up in prison eventually anyways, just because creeps can't help themselves, no matter the gender).

Dude took her in, provided for her for years and all he gets for it is getting shot. Not a word of apology from Kay, as she leaves on her new adventure. She has zero redeeming or likeable qualities. I don't know if she has any sort of redemption arc or character development later in the story but if the closest person to her getting shot because of her mistakes is not enough for her to look back on her actions, then I don't know what else would be necessary for her to change her ways... Cere Junda was infinitely better character than Kay. She wasn't perfect, deeply conflicted because of her past and trying to achieve redemption until she became badass enough to stand her ground against Darth Vader. I hated every moment playing as Kay but I'd love to play as Cere in her own game (imo she'd be better protag than Cal), especially if you'd have a choice which road to take: continue as mercenary doing some rebel stuff on the side, return to being a Jedi and openly fight against the Empire or even fall to the dark side and join the inquisition. Cere is how you write strong female leads, while Kay is just human garbage.
Growing up, it was the Christians that did their best to control all art. But in the 80's and 90's, people who wanted freedom of expression completely broke those shackles. Really, the 90's and the 2000's were a golden age for art. But I've come to see that it was not the Christian religion specifically that was censorious, that's just where all the control freaks launched their efforts from. I've come to see that there's ALWAYS going to be a rather sizeable portion of the population that seeks to have utter and total control over what art all others can enjoy. So when the left took most, if not all, of the social clout in the 2000's, those psycho control freaks went left as well. And now AAAALLLLL the art censorship comes form the left. For you young people, the left USED to be all about freedom of speech, and freedom of expression. But the MOMENT they got power, they immediately acted JUST LIKE the Christians did when they had the social clout. And I gotta say, the Christians were not as overbearing as the left is.
You bring an interesting point. As a Christian who witnessed it from the inside, it was always one or two crazy ladies in a church who wanted to ban a video game or cartoon. Most of our parents allowed us to have it, and we just ignored the few crazy people in the church. I don't think I've seen anyone in a church mention banning anything for the past few decades at least. Sure, people will say certain pieces of entertainment are sins, but it's more of a "free-will" type thing where people understand they live in the world, but try to not partake in things that negatively impact the soul. No one is trying to ban it though. Now that you notice it, the women who tried to ban things and tell other parents to throw our stuff away, none of them are Christians now, and they lean politically left. The main issue is that the games are "made by committee", the executives and the higherups make the choices and force those choices. They choose who's in charge, they make sure it's someone who'll do what they want, and the entire time they are 100% ignorant of what the playerbases actually want. Then they're baffled when the games don't sell. Their charts told them it should, their analysts told them it should, therefore it's not their fault its the players fault.
"Strong" means more than your gains, women. Strong means resolve, stoicism, resilience, and how you respond to hardships. Also being able to fight AND lift heavy stuff. And such. I think.
Worried about not sexualizing fictional characters while teaching kids it's cool to just decide your own gender. These people have zero sense of what is actually right and good.
That Black Myth: Wukong review really said the quiet part out loud. No women before chapter 3? Well that's an inclusion and diversity slight. We are down to chapters. When does it stop? The opening cutscene? It's completely unreasonable and it's no surprise that the video game industry is creatively bankrupt (in the AAA space more so). What's worse is these reviewers, developers, and journalists point fingers at Asmongold, among others, and cry about culture wars yet they are literally contributing to that same culture war they pretend to be above by being so outrageously disingenuous about everything and everyone.

I can agree that the previous elder scrolls games looks rough around the edges and I still have to experience them myself, but Skyrim is great, avoided the main story for 30+ hours and just explored as a stealth-archer, which every build seems to result in stealth archer apparently.
Jade was such a great character, she should be the blueprint for a strong female character that is actually clever and creative without being obnoxious and without being sexualized either, but modern AAA developers are clowns that think they know better than people who created timeless classics.

I feel the same as her to be honest. If i play old games i know that i have everything available to me wothout opening my wallet further, i know those games were made with passion by people who actively enjoyed videogames. Meanwhile now gamers/nerds are giving money to the same people who used to beat them in the hallways and steal their lunch money. Sure a lot of it is based on nostalgia, but nostalgia alone cannot make me put 400 hours pn a game i already have 400 hours on. Meanwhile a modern game i can easily quit 20 hours in after spending 80€ on it (which would cost me 200€ if it were for DLCs) because they are soulless. Nothing beats that 2000s feeling of researching how to unlock a character by doing special missions or tasks, and knowing that it’s all there, no internet required, no time limited events, no pay to unlock.

I have a hot take. It was becoming clear that the birth of Abby is something that was going to happen in a naughty dog game way back in 2011 and 2016. The hints were there back in the Uncharted 3 and 4 games. They started to introduce female characters who were close in personality and sometimes better in ability too Nathan Drake. The second I played Uncharted 4, I knew whatever they do next it was going to be a female lead, then a gay female or male lead. I didn't think a character like Abby was possible, but I knew the concept of not making a male lead like in the first Uncharted game was their aim. So they created Lost Legacy, they had Nathan Drake have a daughter, they made the first Last of Us game and then Last of Us 2 was born. All these decisions came with the idea that leading female characters is their way, and then it was sexually diverse females. I think whatever they come out with next will again have a lead female character and probably some sort of variation in identity as well. Never a straight male who is capable and a feminine female. Those days are gone for that studio.

Its weird how asmon is good at seeing what's happening but not seeing connectable dots on the cause. I studied game design in university waaaay back in 2003, and these issues existed then, and before then. I had Professors telling me that Publishers would try to force designers to include things in their games because "Market Research" told them it was hot at that time. Things like Pokemon looking creatures in their gory FPS because "Focus groups told us kids love Pokemon". They were also obsessed with finding ways to increase monetization. This was right around the time of Oblivion Horse Armor. So paid DLC and microtransactions weren't really a thing yet. They HATED the used game market, Gamestop etc. because Publishers didn't make money when customers buy used games. A lot of the day one DLC, pre-order bonuses, microtransactions ect. can be blamed on Gamestop and the used game markets. Not that they wouldn't have found an excuse to milk customers for more money if used games never existed. All of this is to say that the suits that fund game development are out of touch, and greedy as hell. They are motivated purely by profit, and couldn't care less about what actually makes a game good.
@@Octopootie1 That's always been what's weird to me, cause any history knowledge would tell them that the real money to be made long term instead of lost long term is to experiment in little original projects and make what's already works in big projects but with small updates around what was wanted last time. I get that todays uncapitalistic and more corporatistic society requires constant growth or you die but a lot of big companies stunt themselves anyway by losing touch with what the customer wanted.
@@lemurtheory9350 You're right, and that's what is making indie games so successful. They have the freedom, and flexibility to make compelling experiences. AAA studios have become so massive that they cannot take any risks. They have to cater to the lowest common denominator, and appeal to the widest audience possible. They've become victims of their own success. What is confusing is their capture by these culture war issues. It seems counter-intuitive to their risk adverse nature. I assume some of this has to do with investment firms. But I'd also guess some of it is because they exist in an echo chamber.

Face it the current people in charge is too @$_# st$#@ to get that. The only thing that matters is 'the message'
Give us original female characters that don't feel like lesser versions of a popular male characters.

you should be ashamed to not have beautiful ppl in your gameworld unless you have a good explanation in your universes lore as to why everyone is ugly

Why couldn't studios see the success of the game and learn from it. They can be woke without shoving it down players throats and reach a far greater audience.
@@MikkosFreeit has a place in video games and other media
As long as it’s not the focus of the story you’re trying to deliver
like for example Ellie from the last of us 2 being gay didn’t really affect the story
It was just a known fact that she is and people accepted that
it hurts video games and other media when it’s put at the focus and it’s created to celebrate that they are this diverse or gay or whatever type person
Everything else around it gets damaged because it’s sacrificed for the sake of celebrating their sexuality or their identity
Too much effort is put into that instead of the game being good like gameplay.
Another example is the horizon games

Great gameplay ( not legendary by any means but god damn it is fun )

Nintendo and Capcom are some of the most legally and financially predatory companies out there.
24:07 You nailed it. Surprised the profound wisdom coming out of this channel.
The weird thing is that they "ugly-fy" characters to make them more "relatable". But who the fuck looks at an ugly character and thinks "wow he/she is ugly just like me!"
Why cant an "ugly person" relate to a "good looking person"?
@@StoneDeceiverprojection detected

11:35 No the reason they push it is because it's what gets them ESG investment money.
- The most I ever play in new games are Indie or small studios.
I can almost guarantee any kid can still hop in and play Super Mario Brothers 3 on the NES and love it.
I love how they picture straight guys as bad guys, but as gay let me tell you, some of the most hateful people, that talk nonsense and is over-critic are people from the LGBT+ movement, and I love how most people that agree is people who haven't talk enough to other human being that isn't part of the same collective, wich make the whole take stupid (don't get me wrong, obviously you have a lot of people hating for the sake of hate, is not a sexuality thing and I do feel kinda bad that the gaming side of the community I belong has so many people who talk without knowing and making it a statement)
Its about time more people start speaking about this. I'm an older bisexual and let me tell you, some of the shittiest, nastiest self absorbed and downright toxic people I have ever met have been in the LGBT movement.
Thank fuck i'm not the only guy in the community who feels the same
I almost joined the furry community growing up as bi, but the constant sneering against conservatives and christians really put me off. Ironically it is christians who are the most understanding in my experience.

The only things it lacked was 40-man content and while the isle was fun, they really shouldn't have added the catch-up stuff BUT I give is pass because it was the absolute end of the expansion.
old games just have that soul in em, man. they somehow feel more alive
They really do! Its not explained in the video but older games had more handcrafted elements. As games became bigger and more detailed, individual items were turned into classes of items.
Red flags in Assassins Creed Shadows:
1. Using an historical person as a main character.
2. Using a main character not from the culture and region.
3. Use of Chinese building structure in Feudal Japan.
4. Ubisoft stealing a flag from an army recreational group.
5. Hip hop music playing when Yasuke fights.
6. Ubisoft working with Sweet Baby Inc AGAIN.
7. Yasuke not acting like a Samurai in battle.
8. Yasuke being treated as a God when everyone is just bowing to him.
14. Not wiping blood off the katana before sheathing it.
15. Ubisoft got the seasons wrong.
16. Samurai wouldn't be walking around with their armor on at all times.

It does seem that controlling people just want to control, and they'll move wherever they think they have a better advantage.
Actually dude sorry to tell you this but it sounds like what really happened is you just grew up.

What's worse is these reviewers, developers, and journalists point fingers at Asmongold, among others, and cry about culture wars yet they are literally contributing to that same culture war they pretend to be above by being so outrageously disingenuous about everything and everyone.
Preach. It will NEVER be enough.. until we are all lgtbs
Bro I hate how he judges a game by it's cover and he'll die on a hill to defend his preconceived opinion, I never played Skyrim before 2024, I also thought that these games were mid, but when I did, I had a blast playing it, it's literally the kind of game asmon usually plays.
Not gay enough!!!
I recall Jade was being received as "not that sexy"; still a good game though, really interesting world.

That’s just nonsense though. You can’t blame women for the problems in a field where 95% of mgmt are men & virtually all game-making decisions are made by men. Ask any woman you know- nearly 100% of us would rather play a pretty character than an ugly one

There's nothing sexual about Genshin if anyone's wondering. No fan service, no fetish pandering, no suspicious camera angles. I'm not afraid to play this game in front of my family, heck my sister and girlfriend plays it and I'm trying to convince my sister's husband to try it. I even sometimes seen someone plays Genshin on their phones during train rides.
You're welcome to prove me wrong though. Especially those who keeps alleging genshin as a pedo game. This part confused me the most, 4 years of playing genshin and I still don't see any loli characters getting sexualized here.
Can you say the same about ZZZ tho?

14:27 cal was a token gay character, which is why they did such a good job copying Cameron Monaghan’s face so damn well, not because he is gay, but because his most famous role, arguably, was as Ian Gallagher, so many people will make a connection to seeing his character model as “it’s the gay Gallagher actor”
Its weird how asmon is good at seeing what's happening but not seeing connectable dots on the cause.
In this case entertainment being puppets to the middle management companies that tell them "hey we loaned you money, own most of your stock, have people in your board/leadership so do what we want in your game/movie instead."
Also I do feel like companies are starting to see what I like to call DISadvertising, where you show something that will actually make people want to avoid your product. Like politics, micro transactions, and other clear red flags.
@@Octopootie1
That's always been what's weird to me, cause any history knowledge would tell them that the real money to be made long term instead of lost long term is to experiment in little original projects and make what's already works in big projects but with small updates around what was wanted last time.
I mean, if they don't make anything better than new vegas, I'll just play new vegas when I get bored

The bad faith actors and walking on eggshells is enshrined in corporate culture. Supernatural doesn't exist by definition. It sorta has to be natural to "exist".... That's also why we don't know how a soul links to a body in the natural world. I was an atheist too until my soul had a supernatural experience. I hope you never have cause to believe, because it messed me up big time and I haven't been able to sleep properly since.
My man. I'm an atheist too, but I can admit that religions have some of the coolest thematic designs ever. The entire Warhammer 40K universe is built on religious zealotry and that's created the most badass designs ever. Sign me tf up for religious depictions in fictional media, but keep it out of my real life. I'll consider changing my mind once a real god shows up.

By the way, "45% of gamers are women" is still massive cap and cope, just compare the amount of time men and women sink into playing games and you'll quickly find out that a woman playing Mario party once in a while that identifies as being a "gamer" doesn't really count towards the only statistics that matters which is sales and player retention.
Those 45% is counting mobile users too BTW. It's a very misleading metric.
