    As a black man who has been a lover of plus size women. I always thought I could help them and not get them skinny but to a smaller size but after failed attempts i realized it wouldn't work I can't be the driving force they have to want it. And I'm a man that had always been physically fit i ride 20 miles on my bike every weekend. Now I want a fit women that matches my work ethic

      My rule with dating big women is there has to be acknowledgent their lifestyle is unhealthy and they are actively taking steps to change on their own volition. My Ex was big girl but by the end of the relationship she had lost over 50lbs. Nothing wrong with a work in progress as long as the work is being done.

    As a man who will be 50 in 3 months I just recently came to the realization that I was trying to "love" women through their pain, trama, and dysfunction. I would find a fine woman and say "she just needs someone to love her right". Fellas, do yourself a favor and find a woman you don't have to "fix".

      We all got our trials and tribulation and I don't think anyone comes out unscathed. Pain and trauma is fine as long as it isn't manifesting itself in a way that is a detriment to building and maintaining a relationship. The when the pain and trauma turns into dysfunction is when forcing you way through it becomes a problem.

    Gen X: I don't know what happened. When I was a kid there would be two or three fat kids in the entire school.
    Not long after I remember hearing about obesity being a problem to the point of crisis.
    Fast forward a few years later and people are talking about body positivity and don't fat shame.

      NOT Gen X... Gen Y, Z, & Millenials. I'm Gen X. Tail end of Gen X. They call my year a cusper. I'm the last Generation that got your tail whooped by not just patents but neighbors, teachers, & church. We were latchkey kids, but we knew we better have that homework done & have that room cleaned. WE knew to have respect, "Yes ma'am! No, ma'am!" WE knew to stay in a child's place. We enjoyed ourselves outside. The Seniors, Boomers, & Gen X have to take responsibility for going way left with spoiling their children vs. a healthy balance of hardworking, not Entitlement vs. being the Benefactors to enjoy the fruit of our labor!

      Tail end of Gen X as well. Growing up everyone played sports and went to the park. We rode bikes, climbed trees, etc.
      But I also remember fast food being a “special occasion” thing when I was a kid in the 80’s. I used to get excited to go to McDonald’s. Because my mother rarely took me.
      At some point fast food became more of the norm. And Americans haven’t been the same since.

    • @maralinautube
      @maralinautube 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @bluewave3417 Exactly. My mom only got fast food if I earned good grades or my birthday. In elementary school, we had open skating in the gym on Fridays. I remember when I left, my mom had my favorite taco salad wrapped real tight top & bottom foil. 😋😂 I miss them days. You had to play outside back then. I remember having play clothes, which were my old clothes that I outgrew. I was a girlie girl, so hula hooping, marbles & Jack's, Frisbee, & riding my bike was my thing!🤭🤗 In junior high school, our math teacher had weekly dances as a fundraiser for Jr National Honor Society. We had snacks, popcorn, open gym, & a DJ. It was so much fun!😍 School was my safe haven minus bullying, where I could escape ALL THE TRAUMA that I experienced at home!😔

      @q.maurice Yes. They called my size HUSKY! My mom had to order my clothes from JCPenny or Sears or go to the Sears Outlet. My clothes ALWAYS uses to be lit!🔥 I was a thick child, but NEVER FAT! I was home bred & cornbread fed! You would have thought that I was fat the way that I was Victim Shamed by adults. My siblings grandmother & a lunch monitor in Elementary School would ALWAYS say my butt was too BIG! This was before "Baby Got Back" & "Thong Song"! The l7nch monitor would make me stand with my butt against a wall. My siblings grandmother would make me scoot on the floor. Thankfully, that didn't happen too many times as a child. I don't remember if my mom found out. It was because of my resilient & resistant attitude or a combination of both. Thankfully, to this day, my boots doesn't NEED A BBL!

    Body positivity didn't have to be a scam.
    I feel that we should love ourselves, no matter where we are in life; however, that love shouldn't blind you to obvious issues in your life.
    It's unhealthy to be 300lbs in your 20s. At no point, in anyone's life, it's that healthy. Being healthy and losing weight is a tedious and lengthy process, which is why I believe body positivity became a scapegoat for people being gluttonous blobs.
    I am not rich, but we make it work, and we try.
    All it takes is consistency and patience, but that seems to be lacking nowadays.

      Body positivity was never going to be anything but a scam because it didn't start from an altruistic purpose. It started from the same place that all the catering to feminism that all the gender switching and mary sue characters in movies started from.
      Body positivity started from being mad at what men are naturally generally attracted to, and telling women (while shaming men, because that always has to be there) that they were just as attractive and it was the men who were wrong about it.

    • @mrt094
      @mrt094 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There was no chance of it not being a scam. It goes back to that warren buffet quote "Show my the incentives and I will show you the outcome." Mostly because who it benefits for it. Something like that doesn't become mainstream without major funding, and that funding it coming from the companies that pump out sugary products. Also the problem is these type of things always eventually escalate same thing happened with the sexual liberation movement. If the message is "If you are a little bit overweight and don't have an ideal body you shouldn't feel insecure about yourself." There is no clear line in that messaging that distinguishes between someone who is 20 pounds overweight and someone that is 200 pounds overweight.

      negligence of one's health can usually be extrapolated to other maladaptive behaviours that they're usually not aware of. i.e. if you're constantly eating junk, you're probably spending an exorbitant amount of money on junk. Which usually cascades into other poor spending habits, leading you into debt. Just because you know how to make money, doesn't mean that you know how to keep it.

We can agree to disagree but my point can literally be observed in reality. Doesn't apply to everyone but there's enough of it to warrant caution especially when making a life changing decision like marrying or having a child with a person. Lack of discipline closely related to gluttony, which is is driven by dopamine release from eating food, is a very good indicator of lack of discipline in other areas of her life. (Or a man's) specially with woman, the other "generic" vice is shopping... So you easily extrapolate that a person seeking a quick dopamine fix from food, will most likely seek that from shopping...most ppl don't have money like that and that results in credit and credit card debt. Women do hold most sudent loan debt and consumer/credit card debt. In regards to Lizzo she has constantly displayed her battle with her not being happy with her weight and it's consequences and trying to be the body acceptance face. @@tristonjones37 no, but there are trends of human behavior. If you want to reject that it is your call. Same way a person that works out a lot is very likely to not over eat.... A man with short temper is more likely to commit domestic violence. In general women have 2 vices that come easily to them. Eating and spending money shopping.... Presence of one does not exactly mean the presence of other, but it is more likely than not. Just like ppl that do heavy drugs started with weed more often than not. Human behavior is full of patterns. We like to think we are all special but in reality we are bound by patterns more often than not. As for your example gym addicted to shopping addicted...being gym addicted will often come with the pattern of being able to say no to yourself and your urges to even be successful at being gym addicted, which easily translates to being able to control your spending of non necessary things. The truth is there are plenty of unhealthy slim people, just like that girl eating hot cheeto pickle soup😂. So yes, weight is an important factor in health, but to equate fatness with laziness and trifling behaviors is unfair. I also don't like the policing of women's choices in media. Like...isn't conversation and the way she conducts herself far more important than if she listens to Meg the Stallion and watches Love and Hip Hop? It just feels so judgmental and restrictive. But I do realize that despite how it feels to me, its important that men make these observations and incorporate them into their process of picking a suitable partner. I just feel like women have been shoved into boxes of limited self-expression for ages, up until the last few generations, while men have been allowed to roam and explore. So, hearing all of these critiques or flags or whatever puts me on the defense. Like in order to be worthy, you gotta be this one specific type of woman. Having said all of that I'm aware that my feelings are my reality. I'm interested in the BM reality, so even when it makes me cringe, I come here to listen.
