    Thanks Billy. I'm teaching with my wife in college, we teach forestry and conservation. Videos like this are great training aids for any age from 17-60 years old. Your videos are the best and only ones we use. Your an invaluable source of knowledge and safety for the next generation. They will grow up to respect and look after trees. Thanks again Billy you are shaping the future.

    I ran a 18” bar through twenty chord and few commercial jobs always dressed my bar out and kept the chains sharp.The day I retired that bar it still had 90 degree rails. It’s the only way to get your money’s worth! Good vid Buckin! Keep it up!

    I'm a retired (just barely) music professor who grew up in the woods with that rhythm yer talkin' about. I decided to go whole hog into music. I loved teaching. The whole "higher" education situation, though, is a scam. It probably would have been better to stay in the woods, but I'm very glad that I became so involved with music. Maybe it's time to go back into the woods, singing as I go. Who knows what will happen? Not me.

    Evening Br,I learned a lot about saw maintaining when I lived up the Pacific Northwest on the Washington state/Idaho border from the old timers. I flip my bar every time I cut and I dress the bar up every time I have the side cover off to clean the clutch side or change chains. I have one of granddads 24” homelite bars that’s over 50yrs old and he was religious about flipping the bars and dressing the burrs off of his bars,that bar still cuts straight and true. I needed a 24” on my 267 hotrod saw and I seen the old homie bar hanging up,I cut s couple bushings because homelite studs are bigger and threw a square ground low raker chain on it and got in to some big cedars pines and that bar tracked like a new bar. Moral is,take care of your tools and they will not let you down.

    Enjoyed your chainsaw bar maintenance demonstration. But when you were in the house balancing on the ball I couldn't hear you very well at all even though my volume was at 100 per cent. The music in the background was very nice and low enough it didn't interfere with hearing you talk. Enjoyed hearing you play your drums! Thank you for being so willing to share your knowledge and experience with your equipment so we can all take better care of our own. Welcome all new subscribers! Hope you all have a good evening.

    Oregon drive link codes:
    72 = 3/8" - .050"
    73 = 3/8" - .058"
    75 = 3/8" - .063"
    I think you're going to confuse a few people with that chain gauge info, what's written on the (Oregon) drive links is their code not the actual chain gauge. Every chain brand has their own different codes.
    Hope this helps, good day everyone.

    I just finished editing and uploading a video where another truck driver did something dangerous. Typically, it's easiest just to call him a name and then move on. But I've been thinking about things you say about kindness. Even though he endangered my life, the life or another driver, and a handful of car drivers all around us, I stopped and pondered what sort of relationships he has with his special people, his boss, etc. Who knows his story? Not me. Your philosophical moments are the best parts of your vids (at least for me). I grew up in the woods of Oregon and I've noticed that we share a lot (about logging and life). I've already noticed that my vids have changed a little just in the brief time since I've discovered your vids. Keep buckin'. You're on the right path.

    Today I had to go give price on a snow removal job on the way I was stopped at a red light and I noticed a man with a couple of small shopping bags in one hand raggedy dirtiest jacket on it's cold and wet in a little bit rainy today and I saw him picking up trash so I put my window down and ask them if he was just volunteering on his own will or if somebody asked him to do it he said no he was just doing it to be nice he said it helps him pass the time so I gave him a couple bucks for a cup of coffee it made me feel good that he was doing that without having an agenda. love wins

    I have a old logging buddy who never maintained his bars. He would throw them out, I snagged up everyone he was throwing out. Hell I don't think I've bought a bar in 25 years. Now I just need to find a teeth stretcher so my chains last longer haha. My other logging buddies like to run that 404 chain, no clue why. To much Cerf for me. I like My 3\8. I think they like that thicker chain because they wedge every tree they fell. I'm a stump jumper. That's what all the very old school loggers call me. I have never broke a tree and I cut a lot of veneer. Billy's one hell of a feller. I been felling trees for almost 27 years and I seen Billy fell a few trees without a wedge that I sure as hell wouldn't have dropped with out a wedge. Great video's Billy. Keep up the great work.

    Just going back watching some of your old videos since I'm fairly new to your channel. So many people do not know anything about bar maintenance. I get it all the time here's my chainsaw get it running for me and while you're at it I brought this new bar and chain can you put it on when you're done it was cutting crooked last time I used it. I usually say well I can or I can file your old chain so it cuts better than new and maintenance your bar so that it will cut straight. Then you will have a spare bar and chain. Great tip on the belt Sander for normal people who wouldn't have a bar grinder.

    I just subscribed about a week ago. (I'm from Louisiana) I really enjoy your videos and they have helped me understand my chainsaws much better and how to use/maintain them. You're doing an awesome job! Thanks for the great content!
    P.S. You & Steve (Steve's Small Engine Saloon) are my to favorite Canadians!
