Yes thanks for uploading. What I learned after buying the Tigra Twintop is that I will never ever buy any Opel again. Some spare parts are more expensive than the car. The lock for the rear for the left and right side which is pulling down has a plastic gear inside which definitely has to break after many years of use. There are so many spare gears for other manufacturers for the roof engines but of course, Opel managed to build this part out of multiple materials that it is hard to 3D print or buy from someone.
The mechanisms are all Opel/Heuliez but the hydraulic system is Hoerbiger (they've worked with BMW, Peugeot, etc.) The mechanisms maybe more difficult to obtain as Heuliez went bust and Opel merged with PSA (now called Stellantis.)

Thanks for uploading this, much needed! Could do with more like how to change the "Parcel shelf motor and clutch". Tigras are beautiful elegant and complicated, just like a women! I love mine! and will work to keep it on the road even when it has problems.

I join to your channel becouse you safe me. At minute 47 is well explained how to replace the roof hydraulic unit. Whereas in Europe, the hydraulic unite of the majority convertibles are made by the same brand HOERBIGER, I think this tutorial should work with all cars who have this unit.
I use this car for a daily commute to work. It's a fun car. And its 1.8 version likes to move. I bought a great one for 4000 euro with 105.000 km on it. I would not go over that with that milage.
Sometimes you will be scratching you head from the bells an whistles. The embedded radio isn't upgradable cheaply if you intend to stick to the embedded design. After 3 months of ownership, I felt a small knob on the turnlight switch. I joked to a friend of mine: It's for blind people. It turned out to be the cruise control .. Not really obvious and conveniently placed.

*4.3 Microswitch.*
My windows failed to close after the latches were closed... worse still, the boot lid refused to open... trapping everything inside.
The roof, however, was still operational. It seems the microswitch was faulty as it could not see that the roof had been closed (more specifically the front end of the boot lid)
Microswitch adjusted, the roof fully completes its closing operation after latching (windows now go back up), the boot lid now opens, and the car no longer beeps at me whilst I am driving...

nice system as long as all goes well but first weak point is the battery with a weak battery this might cause malfunctions

@@AndreasGoettsche to understand how the whole mechanism works. In my case, the problem with opening/closing trunk and roof was in rear trunk opening button and trunk latch (it has a limit switch inside and by aging it's not in straight position so car computer is not receiving closing signal). After changing contactron inside opening button and repairing latch, everything works perfect!
@@Woysz Okay. thank you!. The rear Button (in my case) doesn´t open the trunk, but my diagnostic-tool (OP-Com) shows that the button is functionally. the trunk doesn´t open (not electrical, not with the ironcable) - so it´s impossible to let me investigate whats up with the car.
@@AndreasGoettsche make sure that this trunk plastic latch is correct - in my case it was loose and tilted about 10degrees towards interior of the trunk and limit switch inside wasn't sensing correctly when closing trunk. Helped placing a little coin to get rid of the loose of the interior of the trunk latch.

Hello. I have an opel tigra twintop 2004 and when i press the button of the rooftop to open i hear the bip sound and in the back i hear the starting sound of the mechanism of the roof top for about 2 seconds and then stop working. Do u have any idea what is the problem??
The trunk lid does not open or close although the mechanism makes noise.
how can it be fixed?
My roof wont open anymore via the door controls and the boot opens sometimes but mostly not anymore via the door controls... I cant find what causes the problem. Also no alarm when trying to open the roof it just wont do anything. The light on the control button still lights up. When I don't use the parking break the alarm sound will still go off when trying to open the roof so it does recognize that its being pressed...
There is a mistake in the Video. The actuationdisc is adjusted while the roof is OPEN and Not CLOSED! It does not work with the roof in the closed position!!

I do have a 2005 1.4 Sport Tigra and I have noticed the last couple of weeks an issue with the button that opens the boot,not the roof but the boot.Sometimes it does open when I press it and some other times it does not.
I am doing everything correct as I've always got the handbrake up and unlock the car twice.
It's really upsetting as I've purchased the car 3 months ago.Please any comments will be really helpful and thank you for your time 🙏🏼
Replace the button, or use the interior button instead

Persistent rumours says there is an option to manually crank roof (boot?) open.
Does any of you know how that works?

There is a manual release cable which you can find in the door jamb behind a rubber bung, but before using it be careful to make sure the boot lid is properly locked in place at the window side before you iuse this, otherwise you can end up with it floating on its hydraulic rams only which will destroy them and cost a lot to fix.

the lid on my tigra was unlocked on on both sides. the whole system is confused and nothing goes on (lid, roof - all no function). the car is ready for junkyard now
No, it can be fixed ! mine did the same. This a very mis understood car!

@@christiancreupelandt4139 the pump has changed. The oil level is sufficient. the roof does not open when opening, the electricity is cut off. the roof does not work in any way. After 2 minutes the pump loosens and the roof shuts or opens
when i open trunk, left side lock can not lock proporly the trunk and it loses place. There is no problem opening or closing the top. The only problem is openning the trunk. How can i fix it?
probably a solenoid issue ....
Junkyard. GM is icompetent to fix this. Cost amount of money but solves not the construction failure

@@herofkvatch5080 sounds like a great little car, in my contry it costs about 4.000 euro so after thinking more about it, I will add 2.000 more and try to find a e46 convertablie, 2.5 engine, it will be a bit more fun on the open road, as it's only going to be used in the weekends.

@@herofkvatch5080 that's a great idea, I have to check one out and see if I like it. I had a e46 before and I miss that car so that's why I was thinking about a e46 or a e92 (the next generation of 3 series). BTW I would buy a tigra for 200 anyday, you're lucky
@dev jensonHi, couple of places it could come in, u have the bulk head seal (up behind the foot pedals and engine bay), also around the door seals (i made 2 small cut outs on the bottom part of the seal).

the noise while closing the luggage compartment (that you CANT hear in this video) is, especially in combination with the fact that you have to hold that fucking button the whole time, the most annoying stupid bullshit I have ever witnessed on a car.
It's designed to make sure your fingers are as close a possible to the finger trap as it closes.
i need a video on how to tighten the roof hinges... im pretty sure it must be a fairly easy operation but i'd love to see it before i take the tools in my hands...
Does anybody know what kind of oil is needed for the trunk and foldaway roof motor/pump?
After going mad to find out, I went to a garage and asked them if they could get me the original liquid. It's a white bottle without a brand or anything, but it reads for opel tigra twin top. It cost me 49€ in Spain. Try to ask a garage if they can get you the liquid, it's easy for them to find out. Then the following video is a great help: th-cam.com/video/W26ZYB5QQkg/w-d-xo.html
