- This pendant style cabinet door or drawer pull is inspired by a photo a friend sent. Rather than copy the piece in that picture I avoided looking at the image and let my imagination fill in the blanks as I forged this bit of hardware.

Just leave the holder open enough to get it off to open the bottle, but remember to put it back so you can open the door later.
Could you pull the corners on the screw side out and thin out. Bend backwards and When screwing in the corners become nails that prevent the attached part from rotating. I like the concept, great film John thanks for the inspiration.

I have found little use for angle iron in my blacksmithing. I guess my imagination is not up to par. So this video helps me learn, you taught me something again John, Thank You.
I've used angle iron to make San Mai before. Just put your high carbon steel in the middle of it like a taco and forge weld it together. I guess if you don't make blades this doesn't really help lol.

@@berlinetta350 Thanks! That's a really good tip to use angle iron if you don't happen to have thin steel bar stock. I've got plenty more angle iron than 1/8" bar stock!
I admired a friend's slide hammer tool, some years later made one myself. The friend subsequently admired the 'improvements' I'd incorporated. I'd made every effort to make a faithful copy, but accidently made it better.

I do eliminate one mid roll ad for the sponsored videos. People complain about ads and sponsorships, so I try not to do to much in a single video. Although I do appreciate that most viewers such as yourself, are OK with both.

You could mix and match the pieces from both projects
nice video, sir. The quality is excellent. I might try to make a pull similar to that...I`m tired of making hooks. That angle iron is cumbersome...I`ve been making hooks with it.

Another jewel from the scrap pile! That project can let one drum up all kinds of ideas for a pull that is not all that common. My mind is already churning up ideas of places to put a pendant pull (for lack of a better term) like that. Please keep coming up with things from your visits to the Southwest that are Mexican or Hispanic inspired.

as a cheat, I have a hook for the back of a door. A single screw was all that I could get and have it not look odd (sounds familiar), to keep it from spinning, I used a little bit of the double stick foam tape that is used for hanging objects on walls. Then the screw holds the whole thing in place, the tape doesn't hold the weight, but is more than enough to keep it from rotating. Just thought I'd share.

I have a doubt though, about that punch for one of the leaves of the flower, the one that went a bit over the edge. If the piece is for a big door, does it going over the edge makes that spot a little more fragile?
Could you raise a spur on the backside that bites into the wood so it wouldnt want to swivel on 1 screw

So John, how do you determine how many times one should drop their work on the floor to straighten it out? 😉 Once again you taught me a technique I didn’t know. I have been dropping my work, well since I started, never knew I was actually making thing better.
I think its more of an art than a science.

It looks too much like a bottle opener to me, I would keep trying to take it off its hook. But I really like the flower decoration.
Just leave the hanger open so you can use it as either one
