Guys the WETTING AGENT as discussed in this video is a separate solution we make and add to the mix along with water and this pesticide..... It helps the pesticide stick to the leaves of the plant and also helps to dissolve basically any soft bodied pest.... Its the combination of the two that makes this a very effective pesticide..... Here's the video on how to make it th-cam.com/video/yQeWHMelHVA/w-d-xo.html

Howdy sir. Love you videos and was nice to hear you are a fellow Hoosier. We moved to south central KY to become homesteaders and are trying to be organic as possible. I had a couple question about this mixture.
I see you have a similar video as this, but in that one you used other plants that bugs don't attack in your garden. Nothing messes with my pepper plants, so would it be ok to add them to this mixture as well?
Will this stuff work for squash bugs?
Squash bugs started appearing late August and turned into an infestation quickly. Been a real hassle dealing with them. Looking for any methods possible to get them under control and help prevent them next year.

Just lacto-ferment your sunchokes and the gas disappears. They're incredibly healthy, with many minerals as well as that inulin - a prebiotic. Alternatively, you can parboil them with lemon juice (I bet vinegar would work, as well). Start with small servings and work your way up. These tubers prevents people from starving! Plus the pretty flowers that bees adore!

    • @gardenlikeaviking

Hooked from the very first day I discovered your videos. The education is just so useful and very informative. I am watching you from Ghana West Africa 🇬🇭. I am planning on going into farming long term full-time (of which I have already started on the sides of my regular job as an Addiction Professional) Your teachings on natural ways of planting and farming is just so top notch and I hope it all works out good for me and by extension the large numbers of peasant farmers in my village and its surrounding areas. The cost of fertilizers are prohibitive and the farm lands are also suffering its brunt. Praying that this saves all of us and give us great returns in income for the work put in.

Found a little more info on the channel Self Sufficient Me. He refers to them as Fartichoke… the insulin fiber being responsible for that characteristic. He mentions it as being the ultimate survival planting and how it saved many households from starvation during Nazi occupation on account it can produce 2 million calories per acre. Puts everything to shame in that category. I just topped my first three plants to make the elixir yesterday . Phenomenal drought here in east central Kansas. Near zero rain and a 6 weeks of average daytime highs north of 95 degrees they need some help but are doing well. Will see how it helps my fall garden.

I mixed the JHS + JWA. I work 10 hours a day so not much time for spraying. I have been thinking about simmering stock from bones, and using that as a fertilizer, instead of putting bones in a jar with leaf mold and letting it ferment and break down the bones. I would think that by simmering and allowing the bones to decompose a bit, it would be better for the leaf mold and fermentation to take hold faster?
I'm curious if you have experimented with this? I did a batch of Fish Hydrolysate like this, and made some stock to eat, but some went bad. I have some Beef Knuckles in the freezer I want to try this on, but I'm curious about your thoughts, and if you have experience with this. I'm glad to see you doing this with plants.

I don’t have sunchokes but I’m going to try this with Pokeweed. It’s also called Poke salat. Nothing seems to touch it. Going to use the first boil and do the same method. I have it growing all over the place here!

yes actually Pokeweed is one of the other very effective herbal pesticides and its listed in the JADAM HERBAL book as a great plant to use... make in exactly the same way you saw in this video

I’ve been growing sunchoke in Florida. One of my plants was getting attacked by caterpillars. I noticed only the leaves were attacked, but nothing attacks the tubers. I’m pretty sure the poison is in the tubers. I’ll be fermenting a few this summer to see if it’s more digestible.

Thank you. Do you get blister beetles? Can this solution or anything else you know work to fend off the marauding hordes of blister beetles that come through all summer devouring everything? Generally, it seems I have to direct spray them to stop them., Or rather deter them. This video showed a very good use for the stock of Jerusalem artichokes I keep, just in case I need them someday. I have them surrounded with a little fence to keep the deer and the woodchucks away, but they do grow out from the fence every year. I am in a little Ozark Frost Valley in southern Missouri and very much enjoy your channel. Thank you.

I bought some tube bulbs and put them in a pot outside to grow them. The squirrels dug them up, took bites out of them, and left them in the sun and they dried out! I was so mad! Lol

I dug up a handful of sunchokes this year for the first time. I fried them in a little oil, salt pepper and garlic. They were not so good. I'd love a better recipe if anyone has one. The rest of the ones molded and spoiled within about 4 days. Leave them in the ground, I guess. I was more excited about the shoots that they grow. They work as bamboo and are terrific for fire starters when dried.

SO MANY ?'s: Can this also be made in an instapot or slow cooker? Are the flower heads necessary for the recipe? I uprooted l quite a few new ones months ago and now they are dried in the compost, so can these be used or do they need to be fresh? Lastly, what is a wetting agent? Thank you! 💕🦋

You will get better extraction by making fermented plant extract with molasses. Simply boiling the plant parts makes a very weak tea.

The JADAM system do away with molasses since it tends to be costly or even hard to find..

Tobacco steeped in water is also a nice decision for those can't grow artichokes. Also great survival crop. Neighbors who are smokers will be lining up if supply chain becomes an issue. :P
