Mona Lisa was another female mutant character in the original series. I think she only appeared in one episode but it was pretty cool. She was a mutant lizard rather than a turtle. Apparently she was originally intended to arrive as a female turtle which makes sense why she was named after art in the same way Venus De Milo later was.
I don’t know about the TMNT Casey Jones but there’s a semi-famous historic American named Casey Jones. He was a train engineer and was highly skilled but wreckless and ended up dying in a crash. He basically became a metaphor used by musicians a lot. There’s a 1909 folk song but also blues covers, a song by the Grateful Dead, etc.
The reason why he’s called The Shredder is because his design, more specifically his armor, was inspired by a cheese grater, which is used to shred cheese.
Minor name addition, Eastman and Laird were indeed "working for" Mirage Studios, but they were it. They didn't have an office, employees, a distribution center, anything. The company was one of their home address and their "distributor" was their home garage. They specifically chose the name "Mirage Studios" in order to look like an established professional company, even though it was all a mirage.

I'm sure there are many other side characters to talk about to fill time, enough to make it take hours from all the different series. One that sticks in my mind though are the Punk Frogs from the 80s cartoon. Created (accidentally) by the Shredder to be opponents for the turtles, tricking them into thinking Shredder was the good guy and the turtles were the bad guys, Shredder named them after some of his own personal "heroes": Attila the Frog, Ghengis Frog, Napoleon Bonafrog, and Rasputin the Mad Frog. Despite the name "punk frogs", the characters were much more surfer dude themed.

Agreed. It always bugged me that the male turtles were named after artists (creative human beings) while the females were named after works of art (objects admired for their physical beauty).

Shredder was created after one of the artists saw a cheese grater and thought an enemy with weapons on his firearms would be awesome. They went with shredder because of shredded cheese. It does sound better than calling him grater. Lol
Spray paint melts some plastics because it contains a chemical thinner that breaks down the resin/bonds in certain plastics. Apparently most cups. At least thats what google says, if anyone else was wondering.

Also, all of the turtles initially had the same color bandana. The only distinguishing feature was their weapons. This was obviously changed

To this day, I associate Raphael more and Donatello almost exclusively with the turtles rather than the artists.
