I am 72 now, and this man is an inspiration to me. I wish him well. Live long, and prosper. I am wondering if I could make the jump myself. I have to cease being so comfortable, and get out of my comfort zone. I wonder if there is a good book on the subject, as to what to do, and every hoop you have to jump through to do it.

Be good to ask him if he's thought about his plans are for long term care once the inevitable decline starts to occur. Will it mean returning to the US or will he be in a position to trust someone there with his affairs, assuming he doesn't have a 'significant other' by then. Yes, it is easy and cheap enough to hire a local to be your nurse maid, but you also have to have someone you trust with your money once you get to the point you aren't able to manage on your own. He's in great shape for 81 but he obviously realizes that won't last forever. Hopefully for him, he won't have to worry about this for a long time, but there are no guarantees!

Jerry is truely and inspiration to all those who are dreaming to come. hopefully he has inspired at least 2 people to get off the couch and go to the philippines. Tell jerry to talk to everybody who has a house on the beach and inquire about rentals. I know Sunshine Shoulders had a beach front rental for 360. per month in siquijor. he can live his dream with no problem. if he can't get a good price now tell him to wait to low season then prices will come down. also ask him about health care and if he is paying for insurance from that 1200 he budget for.

    Thanks for sharing.
It’s hard to relate to someone who has made it to 80+ without ever having a desire to travel when much younger and able.
His approach sounds kind of backwards.
Hard to understand not wanting to spend what little precious time remains with loved ones back home.
I realize this upload was meant to be “positive” and “uplifting”, but it actually lands quite differently.

Not sure what you think you read.
A “scratch of the head” isn’t negative by any stretch.
      So many ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ these days…you’re like the pot calling the kettle…
Let’s recap: I thank Chad and comment on my bewilderment and you reply stating your lack of understanding of people…sounds like an echo!

Very sound advice, Steve……………….for people who think like you. You may have missed the first video but there are three family members who shared comments about how proud they are of Jerry.

@@WilliamFluery 👍🏻 Another person’s life choices don’t have to “make sense” to the rest of society.
Perhaps when Chad helps Jerry launch his own channel, he will take the time to tell the story of his life’s journey.
