    The Japanese word 'Anata' means 'you'. Interesting that the Arabic word for 'you' is so similar.

      you can actually also say anta in japanese, but it's not so formal, and kinda rude

    • @DwanGarcez
      @DwanGarcez 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Just a coincidence in this case. There's no philogenetic similarity.

    • @z.abidine4443

      There is also one other word in Japanese coming from Arabic: "Arbaito" which means "Part-time job" and in Arabic it means "Home". So i think it makes sense !

    • @DwanGarcez
      @DwanGarcez 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      "Arubaito" actually comes from German "Arbeit".

    7:36 She's talking about the shadda (شدة) this (ّ ) and sokoon (سكون) this (ْ ), the sokoon usually has no effect on the word, but the shadda can do change a word's meaning sometimes (with the other vowels) like the word (ْحَمْام) meaning pigeon just change the vowel on the first meem (م) to a shadda and you'll get (حَمّامْ) meaning... bathroom.

    Note: I don't have the vowling signs in my keyboard but I'll try T_T
    There are 2 signs left (away from the tanween),
    Shaddah شده is like doubling the letter's sound, and focus on it a bit longer. It looks like a small w (no sharp edges lol, kill me), on top of the letter. شده from the verb تشديد / the noun شده shiddah means to extreme/extreme.
    And s(u)koon سكون (on top of the letter), the name tells its meaning! سكون means to stay still/freeze and also silence. It means pronounce the letter as it's original sound, it looks like a ه , a small circle on the top. It's not a very necessary sign.
    Signs are meant to differ between words, you can write without them, but they are often used in the end of a word or in the beginning of it to make sure that it's the right meaning for the reader. In my school, we are forced to write the signs on nearly every end of a word in every essay.

      it's better if you were raised in a foreign country with similar words and pronounced letters. arabic alphabet has so many cognates to my language, so for me it's much easier. it depends I guess.

      Battled with Duolingo but they try to avoid the absolute necessity of learning the alphabet and the font size is so tiny that vowel sounds are hard to distinguish. Carole is more logical and systematic. Also learning normal everyday expressions and a bit of the cultural expectations gives meaning and purpose. I feel I have got somewhere in 10 minutes with Carole, rather than 45 lessons of 25 minutes with Duolingo and am fired up to learn more. Look and say works for western languages but not so sure it works in Arabic.

But I don't know the meaning of arabic. and also there are some issues when I read the Arabic words without the marks like fatha. I think if I know the meaning of arabic words I can read that all the words correctly. Anyway I think it's your lesson will help me to learn arabic properly inshallah. If it is possible give us some tips to learn easily. Thank you شكر

      Well , fortunately in quran there are the voweling signs so you can read .. and you'll get used to it once you practice well and know more words .. when you learn a word by heart .. you'll be able to read it with or without voweling sounds .. it's a matter of knowledge and practice .. ^-^

    • @ahmedfathallah2305

      Conway79 shorte vowel (a) , (i)and (o) are a signs above or beneath ; for anta it's a t witten with a dash above to become ta and it's callef t with a (fatha) usually we don't write short vowel because we already know how the word is pronounced.

      Yh u would. This is the standard arabic which is unchanged from when Al quran was put together. Modern day arabic would be regional ie Syrian, Jordanian, Moroccan or whatever. They can all communicate with each other in standard (also know as classical) arabic which Is in the quran.

      Written Arabic is either Modern Standard or Classical, and they're virtually identical. You are learning the _written_ form, as Arabic spoken dialects are a totally different animal.

    • @amalmohamednoor7261
      @amalmohamednoor7261 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the most part yes u will be able to read it despite the calligraphy might be different a bit, however Quran follows a slightly different way of reading which is called tajweed. So bottom line , u will be able to read it without the tajweed rules of Quran , which you need a special coarse for it .

      Usually it is not difficult. We just change the letters and weights, so we have a new word with a different meaning. Well the dictionary for the Arabic language. I expect that we have more than a thousand pages and it varies according to age. In the fourth grade we take a small one And in the seventh or eighth grade, we take the eldest, It is so big that it does not fit in the bag, so we take it to the school while we carry this in our hands, my opinion, because in the eighth grade there are three books of the Arabic language.But he who loves it will learn it with great ease.
