- In this video, I explore the best investment strategy for your 529 plan. We'll compare target date funds, which automatically become more conservative as your child nears college, to an S&P 500 fund. I'll break down the pros and cons of each approach and share my own investment strategy for my kids' 529 plans. This is excellent Travis💪🏼
I was hoping you'd make another video soon! Thank you
Thanks Travis
Thanks for the info, Travis! Any specific 529 plan recommendations for Texas residents, as we can’t get the Florida plan? Thank you
There are a bunch that work well. I have a series on the 529 and cover a few of them. They're so close in pricing that it really doesnt matter. A few basis points, which is a fraction of a penny, is the difference in the plans. I personally like the s&p500 funds inside the 529 plans so check out a plan that has that option would be my choice. I also use the Utah and Ohio plans which have the exact same fund.
Thanks for the info Travis , I like the way you explain things .Is the same plan available in GA 529 plan ? Do you suggest this plan for GA residents as well or is there any better plan available in GA 529 savings plan for GA residents
You can select a similar option in that plan. You may qualify for a state income tax deduction by using your own state. I believe it's up to $8k in Georgia.
You mean the same plan available in GA529k as well
I am not a Florida resident. Would I still be able to enroll in a Florida 529 plan
Yes, you can.
Neither am I but I do plan to move to Florida in the next 3 to 4 years due to family. Am I able to enroll in a Florida 529?
Do I claim allowances for dependents if I’m single???
Does NC 529 plan offer state deduction?
I don’t think NC does offer a state tax deduction on 529 contributions
@@davidhewitt9692 you are correct. Thank you!

Can anyone open a Florida 529 or do you have to be a resident?
@@jensterling7293 You have to be a resident of FL.
