Two of the highest-ranked places to live. What questions do you have about Lake Forest or Lake Bluff?

In lake forest it kind of seems like the whole town likes to come together. They have very fun concerts and lots of Christmas partys. Everyone is super nice and not just snobby rich people.

I grew up in Lake Forest. I went to Lake Forest Country Day and lived in houses on Westminster, Washington and Woodbine.

I remember the real mansions of Lake Forest, with smaller homes on their property for their house laborers. Now that’s rich!

    • @thepaulgorney

Yes, there are some enormous homes and some very historic. Any specific ones that you remember?

@@thepaulgorney , no I’m from Glenview and then Barrington. When I was driven through Lake Forest decades ago I saw some homes. Very classy...the real thing. I loved Glenview. There’s a northern CA town called Los Altos that resembles it. I bought in Camarillo, CA a few years ago. Lovely, the whole area north of LA goes on forever and is a different planet from the major cities. The people in Glenview were really nice. If my parents want to move back there I’ll show them your video.

Actually, there are 5 golf courses within lake forest and lake bluff. Lake Bluff public golf course which most residents feel is more challenging than Deerpath(the other public course. Knollwood is very much considered part of Lake Bluff by residents though it is seperate, as their children share the Lake Bluff public school system and then Knollwood children also attend Lake Forest High School. I grew up there and have walked and or ran every street in both towns. You mentioned private schools and it should be noted that an elite prep school, Lake Forest Academy is on the far western side of town, down route 60. It has been in existence since 1857 and offers an exceptional level of education. Education in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff is very good in the public school system, but LFA and also Woodlands Academy for girls next to Barat College are of a higher level. Both my brother and myself attended the Academy in the 1970's and my sister Woodlands.
Crime is also very low in both towns and when you live there long enough the police, government workers and store owners know you're a resident and you are treated very well by all.
