Thanks Stranges! Sorry for the confusion. In the traditional decimal number 3,578...... 3 is in the thousands place.....5 is in the hundreds place, 7 is in the tens place, and 8 is in the ones place. I might have actually not used the term "placeholder" correctly technically, but that is the idea I was trying to convey. Thanks for the feedback!
