Musicals are just wonderful! Most young people do not know anything about the ones before the eighties. Thank you so much for this marvelous video! 🥰👍☺️
1 & 5) "There's No Business Like Show Business" (same song for the closing, too) from Annie Get Your Gun 2) "Get Happy" from Summer Stock 3) "Good Morning" from Gabes in Arms/Singin' in the Rain 4) "Try to Remember" from The Fantasticks
Jon Lee (Originally from S Club 7 and has played parts in West End, most noteably 'Les Mis') and Carrie and David Grant (Married sining coaches, famous from TV show 'Fame Acadamy'.) =]] x
It's from The Fantasticks if I remember correctly. And at the moment John is just doing TV work, although he did a Pantomime over the christmas period, and he has expressed a wish to go back to the stage :)
I was never into Sclub7 so I didn't recognize Jon, but he's done well to make the change to musical theatre. He doesn't look out of place at all and is only inferior to John and Ruthie in terms of watching them perform. So kudos to Jon, good work.
Was this series, The Sound of Musicals ever released on video of any kind? How many episodes were there? I wisht there were more musical theatre shows like this in the US as well. So well done, even if some of the singers were not at the same caliber as Ruthie Henshall or John Barrowman.
There's no business like Show business - Annie Get your Gun Get Happy - The Nine-Fifteen Revue (most people are more familiar with the Garland film Summer Stock) Good Morning - Singin' in the Rain Try to Remember - The Fantastiks
i can't believe i missed this when it was on tv. why hasn't it been released on DVD? i'd buy it like a shot, i love this kind of stuff. i don't like carrie though, not only is her voice not that good but her mannerisms get on my nerves - not a fan!
I think Get Happy was a better version than Garland's, but the melody shouldnt have been altered and ruthie's voice should have been more strong and more vibrato and it would have been just perfect :)
John Barrowman has the most calm and comforting voice ever.

I wish the BBC would bring this show - or something like it back
Wonderful!!! Beautiful!!! Marvellous!!!
John's voice is so sweet...his singing makes me smile everytime...:-)
Ruthie Henshall is such an amazing performer.
Wish this series was available in the States. Good show indeed.
Best medley ever x

Luv Ruthie's dress, totally AWESOME, she's such a GREAT singer!!

oh jon lee...i'm in love!
yummy... John... hot stuff! And extremly talented!
thanks a lot
thanks a lot- thats a big help! :)
Given his West End and TV success, I think John Barrowman should try a U.K. concert tour. He can "perform" in MY bedroom ANY time!!
Can this be bought or downloaded anywhere? Does anyone know? I wish they'd had shown it in canada!

I completle agree with you

when they sing good morning it just doesn't sound right without the tap clicks in between lines...seen the film too many times...
@molliecoyle its called one day more..from les mis
Love Ruthie :)
Haha, that is so true.
I'm sorry, but that is not the song.
It is Get Happy and Try to Remember, respectively.
There's no business like Show business - Annie Get your Gun
Get Happy - The Nine-Fifteen Revue (most people are more familiar with the Garland film Summer Stock)
Good Morning - Singin' in the Rain
Try to Remember - The Fantastiks
Oh how I would love to see a West End/Broadway show before I die...
Although it "Try to remember" was also made rather famous by Ed Ames
never mind how she walks in heels with that bun in the oven, how the hell is she finding the control of her stomach muscles to still sing so well?!
xx
This was the worst "good morning" I have ever heard! As always John saved the day,.
If only he was my Geography teacher *sigh*
i can't believe i missed this when it was on tv. why hasn't it been released on DVD? i'd buy it like a shot, i love this kind of stuff. i don't like carrie though, not only is her voice not that good but her mannerisms get on my nerves - not a fan!

I can't believe they pronounced the g in morning. Ha. (For Good Morning) I think Ruthie Henshall would've been better fit to sing as Kathy.
i'm straight but...john...
Because the world is out to get us - all the cute guys are taken or on the other bus. Life's a bitch, huh.
luv Ruthie nd Joe Borrowman
carrie looking very pregnant!
Video is terrible--very sad
euchhhh
david and carrie grant cannot sing at alll
