@@dobermannmy I am sure you would enjoy Lai Po Heen’s dim sum. It’s probably the cheapest amongst all the KL hotels now. Unfortunately not for me or Michael to decide on the promotion period. Their GM makes all the decisions. They may revert to the original price or priced it higher than the current RM7.00 - RM8.80. However the same dim sum menu will still be available, just with a different pricing.

Was asked by the reception to call back on 21st Oct for November reservation reservation. Waited for 15mins before the reception answered but only to get my number for a return call to see available dates dates for booking for November. It is such a hassle and inconvenience.

I managed to get my call accepted at 9:05am but… they also not letting me to make reservation with very rude reply then they hang up my call without letting me to say or ask a word 😡 I believe they will not return the call and since they just open November booking today at 9am. I highly believe I will be able to get a table at 9.05am. Some how I think they will just say fully booked too. Such a shame MO!
i have been calling about 3 times a day and left messages for them to call back to no avail. Since its soooo difficult for such 5 star hotel to return calls to a commoner like me, i tried writing to them via emails. Eventually, after 1-2 days, i got a reply saying they will only start accepting booking on 21st Oct 2024 for november 2024 booking. So like a good girl, i waited till last night and sent one email for the booking request and this morning i sent them reminder emails asking for the status. At 930pm, i sent another reminder and to my surprised i immediately received a reply saying they are now fully booked for Nov and even December 2024! I am going in for full complaints for misleading information. This is very badly handled by MO and i will leave a bad review everywhere.
I leave email and call them as well, finally 9.30 can get the call thru, said will call me back. Till today, no one called and I called again, they said will remind the reservation team again. And still no call from them. Later on received their email saying all fully booked. I asked for email to feedback and complaint on this, no reply!
Pls take down this video. No point making so many ppl angry. I think only ULee managed to eat. Everyone else wasting time call, email,SOS also cant book, only get disappointment & frustation!

It’s too late now.. fully booked within 1-2 days of this video released. I want to go back and eat again and not do any filming and I also cannot get a slot. Even Michael cannot help… he only responsible for kitchen and kitchen staff. Reservation is responsibility of F&B department and they are separate teams. Kitchen staff cannot ask reservation do work and reservation staff cannot ask kitchen staff do work… a lot of arguments will happen if they ask each other do work.. if you have worked in big MNCs you will understand…

Usually full house because a lot of big corporate MNC companies around KLCC involved in oil / gas, banking, etc… so price never a problem for them as they have tons of cash to spend. This video was shot on a Wednesday, on 9th October, on the second day of the promotion… before even a lot of people knew about it. You can see a lot of business people in business attire in the background having lunch, discussions, etc. There will be more families during weekends but even then it will be full house even without promotion.
In that case, Michael could have informed in your video & MO reservation can just inform dim sum promo fully booked for October. Or booking available from Nov (date) onwards... Can update on MO Facebook or google... Then, prospective customers will not be frustrated or think MO has such poor service

They are in a mess right now as orders came in non-stop… heard that even the kitchen printer burnt out from non-stop printing. I have no clue when bookings will reopen.. After the video went viral, I also cannot get a table anymore 🥲. And Michael cannot help because reservation is under a different department, the F&B department. Michael only responsible for kitchen and kitchen staff. But I talked to Michael last night and he says got good chance to walk in at 1pm, as most people will be done eating by then… BUT this only works for small group of 2-3 pax AND on WEEKDAYS. Big groups like 10 pax unlikely able to get a table because they have very few large tables. Good luck! 👍

I called to make a reservation in mid-October and was told that all the tables for October were already full, and that reservations for November would have to be made on October 21. Today, October 21, I called from 12:30pm until 2:30pm, but no one answered the phone. Then I called from 6pm to 8:30pm, also no one answered the phone . Finally, someone answered the phone at 10pm and told me that reservations were all full until the last day.too bad🤬
I tried to make another reservation myself too so that I can enjoy the dim sum without needing to do any filming.. not successful too. Their reservation team is different and Michael cannot help. Michael only manages the kitchen and the kitchen staff. 😭

You can try Le Mei dim sum at Le Meridien Putrajaya. Chef Yau is an awesome dim sum chef and the taste is superb! With some credit cards, can get up to 40% discount. Sometime with Eatigo will get 50%. Good luck!

Boss Carmine makes really nice margherita pizza cos he cooks his own tomato sauce. Another would be Ciccio bar in Changkat Bkt Bintang (non halal - my fav.) I think Ah Leng would really enjoy this and change her perspective.
If you want good dim sum, Uncle Lee's recommendation of Zhen Hi Hao Restaurant Ipoh is good. Their ham sui kok can achieve michelin standard. To me Zhen Hi Hao is a better recommendation. Yeah, they did provide 10% discount when I mentioned Uncle Lee😂. I have eaten dim sum from many restaurants and this is one of the genuine ones. They gave free tea as they are celebrating their anniversary too. Portions are big.
Err... is there something wrong here ? We are discussing about KL dim sum. Do you know that Ipoh is 207 km north of KL and requires 2.5 hours of driving? A return trip of KL-Ipoh will costs at least 5 hours of driving time.
It's a better recommendation. If you are there, can try. We ordered 10 dim sum for 4 people n these dim sum filled us to the brim. Total rm74. Their dim sum pretty good and big portion. The time one wasted in calling LPH, she or he can reach Ipoh😂. I called Lph 9am, then 10pm, 11pm. Then took the lrt to KLCC reached 12.15pm, waited till 1.30pm for table. 2.30pm done.( Reached Ipoh & back lol.)
Elizabeth and Ah Liew are my good friends of nearly 40 years. Their dim sum is getting better and better. They have recently added chives dumplings 🥟 to their menu which was so awesome! Do try when you are in Ipoh and mention “uncle Lee” and get 10% discount. 👍
I have been following and watching your you tube videos and I enjoyed it very much. I am still aa Malaysian and living here in Sydney for over 33 years now and FYI; my wife I and a couple of friends (total 4 of us) will be flying to Malaysia on 25/11/24, and hopefully I can get to try this dim sum and to meet up with Michael (the chef). I have booked Double Tree Hilton hotel and I believe Mandarin Oriental Hotel should be close by. Thanks foe this sharing on the super cheap discount in dim-sums and I am now loking forward to eat this dim-sum.

@@jenny3496 MO is just next to KLCC… when I say next to, I mean wall to wall from KLCC to MO will only be a 10 seconds walk. We also parked in KLCC. I think parking in MO will be more expensive and limited parking space, so KLCC is still a better option.. but then again, parking is never cheap in KLCC.
After 6 min 14 secs of ringing tune, and a few more attempts to call, someone finally answered the phone, and informs they r fully booked until 8/12/24, which is the last day of the promotion. Yeah they dressed up for the occasion. And my son is very happy because he found a job just less than 10 minutes walk from Mandarin Oriental hotel and it’s his second week at work.

No, don’t need to know anyone to book. You have probably called during their off hours.. I think (guessing) their off hours is 2:30pm-5:30pm… that’s the time between lunch and dinner and their staff are probably taking a break. Good luck!

Managed to get through, the lady took down my hp no., said will check availability on my reservation for tomorrow and WhatsApp me to confirm. But, I have not received any WhatsApp message. Called the two numbers repeated a few times, ringing, but no one pick up call☹️

Walk in end Oct, Nov & Dec still available. They use their note pad to make reservations, maybe hard to coordinate online n their hands on system? To avoid mistakes they use one system I think. Reservations que quite long.
I saw the 80% discount on the dimsum of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel,introduced by Uncle Lee's introduction of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel before 50% at night. I called and send emails to 😧 but there was no reply. Is this the service attitude of the 5-star Mandarin Oriental Hotel? 28/11/24 I walked with my wife in Libaoxuan restaurant and asked a deputy manager at that time that the dimsum had been booked until December. Then my wife asked how about dinner? She said that dinner has out to 50%, so we will book 2 seats for dinner. But when we go to bill, that is no any discount then we ask another supervisor, he said that this menu is already deducted 50%. Uncle Lee please ask chef micheal is this possible the two months discount will specially change a menu? I feel cheated related to this 50%discount.

I like Grand Habour, Pavillion, Bukit Jalil but the price is around rm13.90 to 16.90. Dim Sum big and piping hot.

Walked in as nobody answers calls and got a table at 1.30pm. I find the dim sum average and small. The lobster dumpling turned out to be shrimp dumpling cos I opened and checked. Told a captain but he disappered lol. The wagyu puffs...more of sauce and some minced wagyu? Can't taste any meat. If these are the new products I think consumers will not pay a higher price for this kinda quality. Dim Sum more artsy only. Their hands are full. No need to answer phone cos the que is too long to handle. Probably we get what we pay. Not a strategic way to market the products.
Not recommended IMO, TBH. I have tried 21 types and the tastes is subpar compared with other DimSum restaurants or markets. Some are salty, bland (CCF, Congee), smells weird(probably I'm not used to it). As for the food, other than the Scallop, Abalone(SMALL), Sea Cucumber(SMALL), and Shrimp, it's impossible to tell whether the food contains fillings like Chicken/Beef/ingredients or not. Once you bit into it, you can't see any visible chicken/beef/ingredients chunk in it, which is pretty much empty inside. Not what I expect from such restaurant. No expectation no disappointment, I have to say. No idea about other offerings, but the DimSum, it is an example of "Sell Brand, Not Product".
If one adds up the parking & pricey tea, not cheap either. Just go a restaurant which specializes in dim sum. No need to stress yourself in calling and waiting.
Booking made a month ago but disappeared 2 days before it. Made a complaint to the restaurant manager and had it reinstated. But it was a pretty bad experience all in all. Quality wise the food was nothing to shout about especially the deep fried items were absolutely mediocre if not poor. The steam dim sum did regain some credits but still nothing to be proud of. A bit overrated to be honest.
Hope this is not a scam cos from morning until now, trying to book, the only response i get is "NOT AVAILABLE, SUBMIT REQUEST AND LEAVE YOUR EMAIL AND CONTACT NO" even try to book 6am and the last one before tutup kedai also same kind stupid response, "NO AVAILABLE", you mean 6am got ghost go and eat is it? If every time when someone book and the only response is no available, it's very ridiculous and very fishy.

@@blurblobs88 they are very busy during weekdays too even without this promotion. Usually full house because a lot of big corporate MNC companies around KLCC involved in oil / gas, banking, etc… so price never a problem for them as they have tons of cash to spend.
This video was shot on a Wednesday, on 9th October, on the second day of the promotion… before even a lot of people knew about it. You can see a lot of business people in business attire in the background having lunch, discussions, etc.
There will be more families during weekends but even then it will be full house even without promotion.

@@christinefoo4929 before the video went viral and everyone rushed to book, it was still available to book on most days as not many people knew about it. They are in a mess right now as orders came in non-stop… heard that even the kitchen printer burnt out from non-stop printing.
I have no clue when bookings will reopen.. I am also trying to get a table so that I can truly enjoy it in peace and quiet and not do any filming… still not successful.
Maybe MO management has banned me for making them so busy! 😂

After the video went viral, I also cannot get a table anymore 🥲. And Michael cannot help because reservation is under a different department, the F&B department.
Michael only responsible for kitchen and kitchen staff.
But I talked to Michael last night and he says got good chance to walk in at 1pm, as most people will be done eating by then… BUT this only works for small group of 2-3 pax AND on WEEKDAYS. Big groups like 10 pax unlikely able to get a table because they have very few large tables.

Almost 75,000 views now so it’s really hard to get a reservation now.
I called to make a reservation in mid-October and was told that all the tables for October were already full, and that reservations for November would have to be made on October 21. Today, October 21, I called from 12:30pm until 2:30pm, but no one answered the phone. Then I called from 6pm to 8:30pm, also no one answered the phone . Finally, someone answered the phone at 10pm and told me that reservations were all full until the last day.too bad🤬

You can try Le Mei dim sum at Le Meridien Putrajaya. Chef Yau is an awesome dim sum chef and the taste is superb!

Boss Carmine makes really nice margherita pizza cos he cooks his own tomato sauce. Another would be Ciccio bar in Changkat Bkt Bintang (non halal - my fav.) I think Ah Leng would really enjoy this and change her perspective.

If you want good dim sum, Uncle Lee's recommendation of Zhen Hi Hao Restaurant Ipoh is good. Their ham sui kok can achieve michelin standard. To me Zhen Hi Hao is a better recommendation. Yeah, they did provide 10% discount when I mentioned Uncle Lee😂. I have eaten dim sum from many restaurants and this is one of the genuine ones. They gave free tea as they are celebrating their anniversary too. Portions are big.
Err... is there something wrong here ? We are discussing about KL dim sum. Do you know that Ipoh is 207 km north of KL and requires 2.5 hours of driving? A return trip of KL-Ipoh will costs at least 5 hours of driving time.
It's a better recommendation. If you are there, can try. We ordered 10 dim sum for 4 people n these dim sum filled us to the brim. Total rm74. Their dim sum pretty good and big portion. The time one wasted in calling LPH, she or he can reach Ipoh😂. I called Lph 9am, then 10pm, 11pm. Then took the lrt to KLCC reached 12.15pm, waited till 1.30pm for table. 2.30pm done.( Reached Ipoh & back lol.)

I have been following and watching your you tube videos and I enjoyed it very much. I am still aa Malaysian and living here in Sydney for over 33 years now and FYI; my wife I and a couple of friends (total 4 of us) will be flying to Malaysia on 25/11/24, and hopefully I can get to try this dim sum and to meet up with Michael (the chef). I have booked Double Tree Hilton hotel and I believe Mandarin Oriental Hotel should be close by. @@jenny3496 MO is just next to KLCC… when I say next to, I mean wall to wall from KLCC to MO will only be a 10 seconds walk.
We also parked in KLCC. I think parking in MO will be more expensive and limited parking space, so KLCC is still a better option.. but then again, parking is never cheap in KLCC.

After 6 min 14 secs of ringing tune, and a few more attempts to call, someone finally answered the phone, and informs they r fully booked until 8/12/24, which is the last day of the promotion. But weekdays could still be available. They are setting up a counter outside the restaurant this morning to handle all reservations... so people can walk in to check and make reservations & I think they will take calls too.

No, don’t need to know anyone to book. You have probably called during their off hours.. I think (guessing) their off hours is 2:30pm-5:30pm… that’s the time between lunch and dinner and their staff are probably taking a break.

Managed to get through, the lady took down my hp no., said will check availability on my reservation for tomorrow and WhatsApp me to confirm. But, I have not received any WhatsApp message. Walk in end Oct, Nov & Dec still available. They use their note pad to make reservations, maybe hard to coordinate online n their hands on system? To avoid mistakes they use one system I think. Reservations que quite long.

28/11/24 I walked with my wife in Libaoxuan restaurant and asked a deputy manager at that time that the dimsum had been booked until December.
Then my wife asked how about dinner? She said that dinner has out to 50%, so we will book 2 seats for dinner.
But when we go to bill, that is no any discount then we ask another supervisor, he said that this menu is already deducted 50%. Uncle Lee please ask chef micheal is this possible the two months discount will specially change a menu? I feel cheated related to this 50%discount.

Since they were super busy, I just let them off. Probably hard to give everyone real lobster at rm8.80. I will not pay rm30 for shrimp dumpling if they increase the price in the future. I like Grand Habour, Pavillion, Bukit Jalil but the price is around rm13.90 to 16.90. Dim Sum big and piping hot.

Walked in as nobody answers calls and got a table at 1.30pm. I find the dim sum average and small. The lobster dumpling turned out to be shrimp dumpling cos I opened and checked. Told a captain but he disappered lol. The wagyu puffs...more of sauce and some minced wagyu? Can't taste any meat. If these are the new products I think consumers will not pay a higher price for this kinda quality. Dim Sum more artsy only. Their hands are full. No need to answer phone cos the que is too long to handle. Probably we get what we pay. Not a strategic way to market the products.

Not recommended IMO, TBH.
I have tried 21 types and the tastes is subpar compared with other DimSum restaurants or markets. Some are salty, bland (CCF, Congee), smells weird(probably I'm not used to it).
As for the food, other than the Scallop, Abalone(SMALL), Sea Cucumber(SMALL), and Shrimp, it's impossible to tell whether the food contains fillings like Chicken/Beef/ingredients or not. Once you bit into it, you can't see any visible chicken/beef/ingredients chunk in it, which is pretty much empty inside.
Not what I expect from such restaurant. No expectation no disappointment, I have to say.
No idea about other offerings, but the DimSum, it is an example of "Sell Brand, Not Product".
If one adds up the parking & pricey tea, not cheap either. Just go a restaurant which specializes in dim sum. No need to stress yourself in calling and waiting.
Booking made a month ago but disappeared 2 days before it. Made a complaint to the restaurant manager and had it reinstated. But it was a pretty bad experience all in all. Quality wise the food was nothing to shout about especially the deep fried items were absolutely mediocre if not poor. The steam dim sum did regain some credits but still nothing to be proud of. A bit overrated to be honest.

walk in and make reservations. Probably unable to coordinate online and their current system. Can make mistakes if not coordinated properly. Plus can walk in and try your luck like I did. But eat something light as you may have to wait till 1.30 to 2pm
