That is dumb to even ask if the loss is Purdy's fault. Absolutely not his fault! What would Mahomes look like if his OL didn't constantly hold Dlines?? Purdy need much improved OL pass protection miving forward. The lose is was the special teams fault simple as that because of the punt return fumble.

Purdy missed throws that Jourdan Love was making against the Cowboys. Love was dropping dimes as he was getting hit and yet, Purdy is too nervous to do the same thing. So I'm so glad 49ers got Purdy instead of a superior QB like Jourdan Love or CJ Stroud. Because Purdy is going to fail even more with time. It will be very comical!!! Ha!

That fact that Purdy done what he done in his first full season coming off elbow surgery. No off-season with a bottom 10 ranked pass protecting O-line is amazing to say the least.

If Niners O-line was allowed to hold D-lines like the Chiefs do. Purdy would own the NFL. Any QB could be a super star when the O-line constantly holds D-lines giving the QB time to do whatever whenever.

And on the 3rd miss where Chris Jones went unblocked many other QB'S who have elite arm talent would of still been able to make that throw for the TD!

For Example: Matthew Stafford makes that throw and completes it for the TD bc of his elite arm talent!

He does greatly benefit from the extremely QB friendly system of Shanahan and the otherworldly roster talent!
But at the same time, he has played his role in this offense very well and has played within his abilities and arm talent!!
And for that, Purdy deserves his credit 💯

The biggest deciding factor in the game was the Championship poise and pedigree of the Chiefs. I believe the 49ers are better and that more times than not they'd win the game, but they underperformed (slightly). Also, though Kyle coached a pretty good game, Reid had him beat, and Spags doesn't make head-scratching calls like Wilks does. But in terms of rosters, the players and their playmaking, the Chiefs showed poise and delivered their level and the 49ers did not.
Their defense did for sue when it mattered. The Niners took the lead every time Purdy left the field. The offense did their job. People are acting like the Chiefs blew them out of the game ahaha.
No that game should of never went to OT. That game was lost in regulation.
The reason why the Chiefs won was because of Shanahan refusing to adjust to Spags' defensive adjustments. KC switched to man defense and Deebo is not very good when covered by man coverage......yet he was still the focus of the offense.
Alex Rollins did a great video breaking all of this down. Purdy didnt lose this game and im sorry but that last throw was an impossible ask for him with Chris Jones in his face. Had that lineman blocked Jones on that play, then Purdy has a better chance but very few QBs are going to succeed against that.
Most everything here is line of scrimmage. Wish you would have shown some of the screens, open field blocks and picks done by the Chiefs to open up receivers, and extend runs in the 49er secondary. It was a thing of beauty.... Chiefs were executing football fundamentals.

Purdy had to make throws that would have pushed 49ers up in superbowl but Purdy could NOT MAKE THE THROWS!
So while he played good enough to not give the game away, he failed to win the opportunities that the Chiefs gave him and his team. He had the chances but failed. So he is the loser. Just like the other teams that had their chances. I think Brock is a great guy, just not much ceiling to his talent.
Jalen Hurts was always good, but never great. Many people thought he would elevate more than year before, but that was not the case. He reached his limit, and so has Brock.
Plus Jennings is read 1. Meaning Ba is read 3 or 4. Meaning play design was the issue.
The whole game was pretty good, both teams are trying to win..hard. But that last drive the right tackle lost his way. It’s just not possible you leave ostensibly the best defensive guy in the league uncovered to blitz. Not possible. A lot of guys would have got sacked here, but Purdy made the throw. Just too bad Jennings was not there yet. That’s it that’s all, one play..over.
just too many mistakes on offense to overcome, and key injuries on key plays.
And on special teams! A missed PAT and the botched punt return cost them 8 points!
And on defense, there are 3 or 4 huge plays where Bosa crashed hard on the fake to the running back and let Mahomes pick up a first down on 2th and 1, and where Mahomes ran for close to 25 yards. The chiefs waited until the second half to call thoes plays. They got our coached plane and simple
Purdy, being relatively short, had a number of passes blocked or tipped. I think Shanahan should have called more roll out plays for Purdy.

For all of the flat earthers in the comments. There have been a total of seven O-line holds called in the past six Super Bowls on BOTH teams. Refs tell both teams before the game how they are going to call it. And they let them play. The Chiefs just better coached.
Maybe Debo had a bad game because he was shut down by the Chiefs secondary. McDuffey is a first team pro-bowler. This is a blame video. It is so sad that the creater of this video doesn't know much more than how to complain.

Juan Jennings and Conley were Darkhorses this game, I think they’re okay style helps out Brock a little more than Deebo does tbh. We don’t got Jimmy G back there at QB anymore so having receivers that could make tough catches in tight spaces are more prevelant

Maybe I missed the announcers talking about it but I don't recall them saying why Kittle went to the locker room, in view of the effect his not being on the field when they're in the red zone in overtime in the super bowl. If he's in the game there's no holding call and the ball doesn't get moved back to the 29 yard line. Maybe they don't have to settle for a field goal and the game continues after the Chiefs score their TD. Yeah bottom line the niners lost because they made too many mistakes and you can't do that and expect to beat the Chiefs.

@@PowerHourNFL first of all, they didn’t leave Chris Jones unblocked by design. It was the RG who should’ve fanned out and blocked him, leaving the LB as the free rusher. Purdy would have had enough time to complete the throw to Jennings. thinking the RT should be responsible for the 3 tech is INSANE on a blitz. The pass protection calls for everyone to block down to the right with a puller. 2nd, using TV copy when all22 is on the next tab down is also wild. But you do you.

Brock Purdy is absolutely responsible for this loss. He’s playing on an offense with 5 pro bowlers and he just needed to lead that offense to score 20 points to win a Super Bowl, and he couldn’t get it done.
