I had a 69 R/T back in the day. I bought it for $400 because the transmission made a loud noise. $11. for a bearing and I had a nice ride. She had a 383 Magnum package, but was almost as fast as my buddy's 68 440. Sweet cars. Two of my Buddys still have their 68's . I'd like another, but two more zero's will be tacked on the price I paid in the 70's.

they do not take corners very well the turning radius sucks they do have a nice soft ride to them. the clock almost never works . watch out for the left side motor mounts they like to brake motor raises wide open throttle
the ass end likes to walk to the right when getting rubber. other than that i love em

If you really want to be picky about factory correctness, some things that would need to be changed are; air cleaner, valve covers, headers, carb, intake, PCV system, ICM, volt reg, plug wires, alternator pulley, booster finish, throttle bracket/dist clamp finish & belts. The rear wide stripe should be centered in the side marker light.

As they say, 'wouldn't throw her out for eating cookies... To add to the list, you can't boast about clamps @3:59 while using cheap screw clamps @4:11 on the heater hoses (water pump side). But, I'm sure he's enjoying his bank account. :-)

My uncle bought one of these new as it was less expensive to insure compared to the Hemi ‘68 Charger. 120mph speedometer he said would go up to where 160mph should’ve been.

@97jag440 440's in 1968 440's were chrysler blue, 1969 the 440's were orange. The chrome valve covers, the chrome air cleaner, and the intake are all after market and not original. The dana rear end I am even doubting is original. I could have sworn they were all 8 3/4 with 3:32, 3:54, or maybe the 3:91. I thought the dana was introduced in 1969.

No, in 1968, the 440 was turquoise, not blue. Blue was an alternate colour in 1970, not 68..

j rush No, it's the wrong shade of blue. It's not supposed to be a baby blue. It's supposed to be turquoise.

They probably put a 440 from a 1970 in it, which could be blue or turquoise.

Naw, that's blue. Turquoise is a greener shade.
www.dickson-constant.com/medias/images/catalogue/api/6688-turquoise-680.jpg -- that is the right colour.

+god God. Half the reason its no fun to take a Mopar to a car show Is You always have to deal with the "experts" who try to tear the car apart, nitpicking over factory correct valve stems and air cleaners for some reason after you spent 12 years restoring it. Then they hop in their honda and go home to watch Barrett Jackson. But to be fair, if I was looking at a 68 charger and they want $60,000 for it, Id probably want to open the floodgates of what's wrong with it lol. . Holy shit it's a rich man's game anymore
