You have to admire his description and sales delivery. I know how he feels about High School. I had a 72 Monte Carlo ( which i was glad to have), but the rich kids had T/As and Z28s
My favorite year of the Gen 2 Zs...Just before they busted down the speedometer to 85 MPH...Like you, I was in high school when all the rich kids had these...They didn't introduce the cowl induction until 1980, but most of the kids that had the '78s had the hood cut open, installed a functional air scoop that looked just like the phony stock one (With the same bolt pattern...The hoods themselves were slightly recessed to accommodate even the phony) along with a manually controlled flapper, and put an aftermarket air cleaner atop the carb to complete the package ...These were cool rides, indeed!
I had a black/buckskin interior. 78 Type LT/4 speed. No front/rear spoiler. The car was a show stopper...and fast as hell. Good times! I like that blue Chevelle over to the side. That's got nice paint on it too. Also had a black 84 Z28 H.O. 5 speed with t-tops...that car even chirped 3rd gear.
0:28 "These were the last because once you got into the IROC's and things like that you couldn't get a 5.7 with the manual transmission" Until 2 years after the IROC died they brought the 5.7/ manual combo back and with a 6 speed.
I had a 78 Z28 in HS. I was not a rich kid, just worked my ass of doing paper routes, cutting lawns and such to afford it. This one is nice and in good shape. Brings back the memories of those HS days. The Z28 emblems on the grill and the gas filler door are not from a 78. The 78 ones look like the Z28 sticker on the side. These look like the are from a 80 or 81 Z28.
Thanks Tony, i appreciate your videos. i enjoy watching your descriptive talent & this car is one of many favs of mine :) For the others below that critisize about Tony's hair, it's not what a person looks like that matters, its on how a person describes an awesome machine like this...& Tony knows how to do that very well... The video is about the car not his hair... Have a great day Tony :)
Had one chocolate brown w/t-tops. Took to much xtc one night fished tailed into a brick mailbox. I still remember the song we were jamming out to “Paper Money” by Montrose. Drugs and driving don’t mix
Funny as a Senior in High School in 1979 I could afford one ..it's the only new car or truck I ever bought would not even consider it now days.. My Aluminum mag wheels were a $273.00 option ..

in 1979 the 4 speed was not the Option it was standard with 3:73 gears.. the 3 speed Turbo 350 was a $70.00 Option or $77.00 Posi traction is not heavy duty it's a joke in a 10 bolt another $70.00 Option clutches need to be replaced every 20,000 miles..
i know the 78 /79 models were better then the vett of the same year these camero's had the best suspension of all the camero's they were heavier then the new one's and just way better then the old one's in handling . they will out last any new camero
it has none of the spoilers on it i have a 79 z/28 rs t top with full spoiler kit and it has to have the front spoiler on it or it just don't look right
Hey man...why are you selling old school muscle cars with a womans hair style?however I like your Z ,appreciate a solid run down on a great old high school car man
in 1981 I had a 1978 Z28, identical in every way to video including color. Great Fun Car. Tonys Man Bun: no man would sport such a style on purpose, subsequently I can only speculate it's a medical issue.
Four years ago, when this video was done, that was the style. Sorry that you’re so unfortunate that you have to pick on people that you don’t even know.

You had a beater car in high school !!!! I had a pair of addidas. Finally got a 78 Camaro typeLT in 86. . Fun times.
love these cars I'm glad I didn't sell my 79

Wanted to see what car billy drove😂😂
I was just about say that looks like the car Billy drove on stranger things
Billy's was a '79.
@@Kryptic1046 y cuál es la diferencia, a parte del años
They made 279,000 Camaros in 1979 should still be a few of them out there..
The Z28 emblems on the front and back are from a later model Z. Looks like a 78 with 80-81 badges.
Wrong emblem on front grill!!
TheScooter840 noticed that too.
TheScooter840 wrong beat up dash too
Dash didn't change until 79.
And on the fuel door, plus the motor should be GM blue not Chevy orange
What are you talking about wrong emblem explain please 🤷

You could buy a manual iroc Z and trans am
Engine is supposed to be blue not Chevy orange
Beautiful Camaro. But it's missing the stripe on the bottom of the front bumper
Sweet , I had one , black on black , a go getter!!

Cuánto te costó el tuyo, o a cuánto está valorizado en este año, a mis 23 años quiero tenerlo
I also had one just like this one in high school it was white in color
Add price to video
I looked on their web page looks like they were asking $34,000.00

Nothing about the big crack in the righhand side of the dash pad?
AWESOME YEAR GREAT LOOK
I would not buy just because of the hair.. sorry
Mike Mitchell 😂🤣😅👍
i call it nobber bobber hair do
I agree 100%
hes so kewl, with the balding rat tail, hes trying to relive those high school days
The camera is moving at warp speed
I'm sure your not asking more than 20K and I'd be happy to pay you that. When can I come and pick it up?
Piece of American Pride.
I always wondered if these 78-81 350 equipped Z28’s were faster or slower than the 82-86 5.0 IROC’s?
Funny as a Senior in High School in 1979 I could afford one ..it's the only new car or truck I ever bought would not even consider it now days.. My Aluminum mag wheels were a $273.00 option ..
Ram air? Not on a 78. the 80 and 81s had the flapper door air induction.
If I recall, the '78 was just flat without Ram air. Even the '79, had it blocked out.
Not ram air wtf 😒
It's not ram air it was called the tear drop hood
Love these videos
"Its nice and airy and fresh and big..." lol, I love it ;)
What size are those tires on it
the hood scoop is also just for looks
Small detail but fix the seat belt holder on the drivers seat as it looks tacky being missing it's all about the finish on the inside
dont worry, that came in after the video and was finished up before the new owner took delivery 2 years ago
Please stop saying alright. Nice car.
anybody ever put a roll cage in one of these? Is it very easy to put a discreet roll cage?
Anyone else notice that nasty crack in the dash on the passengers side?
That and that is the incorrect dash for 1978 they switched to the style u see here in 1979 1979 and earlier are different

Who's here from stranger things?
Nice car, they could have replaced the seat belt guide on the seat though.
she's beautiful
these were a gutless blue coloured block originally
Pony tails and buns were there in late 70$
Looks weird now but hey...the cars are bad ass!!

Incorrect dash for 1978 my guy that's a 79-81 dash
Yes your right!! Nice catch! I wouldn't have it just for that reason! The 79-80 dash looked cheap imo
That's definitely NOT a 79-80 dash; I think it's correct. The "Z28" marker on the grill is definitely wrong.
That interior was horrible. Does not match the "super shiny" black paint job. That car would be at the beginning stage for the Kount! $4500.
Wrong dash, wrong grill emblem
Wrong hair👍😂😂
You want the real deal i got one but ITS NOT FOR SALE LOL SORRY!

nice hair. wth is that on back of your head??!! lmfaooo😂
That hair style does not work on a guy close to 50 !
Hey hey hey watch the leather man…
Holy frick that hair cut...
"test drive"
Please lose the man bun!!!!!!!!!!!
What's with the hair?
How you gonna name yourself after a damn gun and have a man bun?
