@@luciuslucianski4778 What a great observation! We feel the same way way, and hopefully, Alan Watts will be circulating in our human societies for many many generations to come!! :)
I'm so grateful to everyone who posts these Alan Watts lectures. They keep getting taken down, but someone else always uploads them again. Thanks man ✌️
Glad you enjoy! We ensure all Alan Watts uploaded videos are covered under TH-cam's creative licenses, and therefore, does not violate any community guidelines and get taken down!! That means, they are here to stay!! Hope you enjoy, there are plenty more to come!! :)
The best lesson I ever learned from Alan Watts was that you don't need to sit quietly in order to meditate. Children were sent to the monastery to learn, and all children in every school everywhere are always told to "sit down and shut up." That's where the sitting idea of meditation came from. It was a way of controlling school children who didn't want to be there, and whose behaviour was disturbing the monks' meditation. So we told the children that meditation required "sit down and shut up."
@@LlonirTS Humans have sat and contemplated for millions of years! It is unknown exactly where the first human sat and meditated!! But it is fun to speculate! :)
@@nadeemtron Thanks for the kind words Nadeemtron! Just a bloke from downunder (Australia) who loves philosophy, psychology, and science; and will be widening the scope of videos as the channel progresses. Hopefully you get some quality out of these videos from past philosophers!! Enjoy... P.s. our kangaroos write our scripts!!
In a different garb, selling the same philosophy as propounded by Indian sages thousands of years ago. It easier to listen to, taking flight into the imagination then actually setting out on a journey because...the end isn't something that we desire. To be free to be dead, dead to the identity, to culture, to the delicious memories of eating flesh and sex, all my various and variegated achievements, all need to go. Who wanna do that? Any volunteer? No!! Even if you wish to die is again a desire to be dead. Death will choose you, then life will begin in you. So far now, we are just increasing and enhancing the volume of consciousness, the consciousness you think is yours, locked up in your braincells as your private experiences but it's not so. It's shared by each one of us. Could waves ever be held separated? Through the gap of our fingers it slips and merges into the other. We are incredibly disturbing creatures.
Great stuff Salu! My perspective is to live without attachment to all the unnecessary things in life, and be consciously aware of being attached to those things that make life's journey just a little bit more enjoyable!!
Here is a brilliant Life and Death philosophy by Alan Watts! th-cam.com/video/ERtrWXlsYX4/w-d-xo.html
And yet another Watts channel marvellous he's the jewel that should forever be freely shared with humanity
