I know the original owner of the truck, it was an old gentleman who had originally used it to tow his vendor trailer around (the trailer is still sitting in his yard to this day) but he only used it for a short amount of time and it was tucked in his garage since then up in Massachusetts, I still have pictures I took of it there from 2019 when I saw it. I remember him telling me how the trim molding down the side was not original and he had it put on after he bought it as well as the wood center console for the bucket seats. He had also owned some other cool stuff like a 1978 or 1979 Ford Bronco Free Wheeling edition which he sold over a decade ago to a museum, he also has an old Lincoln Town Car I believe and all of his stuff was parked inside the garage for basically its entire life.
Great looking truck, love the two tone paint. Odd that the tailgate red is higher than the body red. I have the black and grey version of this in XLT Lariat ext cab with the 7.5 gas. Comfortable and strong hauler.
Nice classic. I remember driving one of those off the showroom floor. Many a mile driven in comfort and reliable as all get out! That first gen 7.3 wasn't quick but fast and powerful enough to get it done for an easy 300k on the clock! So easy to turn a wrench on to maintain. Will make a great truck for someone's collection for sure.
If I was the new owner to this truck, i'd put a dana 60 under the frontend, convert it to 4x4, and put a B&W turn over ball in the bed. and this would be my new daily driver.
The famous Farmers Cadillac. I used to own a 250 4x4 diesel 5 speed from 1991, now I have an '86 with a 6.9 diesel from 1986 both extended cab 8-ft bed, I love these trucks.
