Advance Driving School hi I pass my test today with the ultimate driving academy thanks to Sarah cannon I’m so happy and proud my self and thank you so much for Advance Driving school which is your video is very helpful for me 🙏🙏
Advance Driving School I passed my driving test 3 years ago but I won’t drive on my own I just don’t think I’m good enough and that I need constant instructions on how to drive
hi my name is zahheer I like lure two cars one nomle and one police car Too I am going to be policeman and I am going to work in paid job TOO and I am looking for a driving instructors Too
I still remember what it felt like when I drove on my own for the first time when my parents got me my first car. I felt like a young lion out in the wild on his own for the first time. It felt so strange to not have anyone sit next to me.
I passed my driving test last week, and drove on my own for the first time a few days later. It was only a short detour to pick my friend up, and then straight to college. I was so nervous! I put some music on very quietly and spoke to myself the whole time, it sounds crazy, but it worked! I encountered no issues at all, and as I parked up outside of my college, I felt so proud of myself! The drive home from college was even better (although one of my teachers was driving behind me for ages, which made me very anxious!) Being able to give my friend a lift home made me feel really good. I did stall once, but it’s bound to happen due to it being a new car that I’m not yet use to; but I kept calm, and corrected it well. The independence is amazing. As long as you stay calm and always THINK about everything you’re doing, everything will be fine :)
I had to drive from buying my first car from South Wales to Bristol on a motorway. It was petrifying, especially with articulated lorries alongside me and not having driven on a motorway before. My friend was driving in front and advised me “just focus on your lane and your driving, and drive slowly but safely”. I never forgot that first drive as a solo driver.
It wasn't too bad for me since I already had a full motorcycle licence and used to motorways, and riding in general. I was certainly more cautious on narrow roads due to the dimensions of my car but it was an easy transition (20 hours of tuition and first time pass). I didn't feel like I had gained my independence since I achieved that when I started riding a motorcycle.
My first motorway drive a couple of weeks ago was 250 miles long, down almost the full M1 - we picked up the car from my cousin's place in Yorkshire and I had to drive it back to London where we live. My dad was next to me, and he did help - I found the 70 sections quite straightforward but it was the work zones with the narrow lanes and 50 limits that were more intimidating, because while I was sticking to 50, most of the large HGVs were sitting on their limiters at 56 mph (they assume the cameras won't kick in until 10% + 2 = 57 mph) and so were overtaking me. But that 250-mile drive means I'm now fully comfortable with the motorway already. The M1 has it all: roadworks zones, stop-start traffic, smart motorways, variable speed limits, slip roads and service areas - so I've had some practice in all of those now. I have found motorways and (to a lesser extent) dual carriageways are the easiest roads to drive on, as the hazards are generally far more predictable than during city driving.
Tip: try putting your bag or coat on the passenger seat! The first time I drove alone, the feeling of 'empty car' freaked me out a bit - no instructor, no family, just silent empty seats!! So for my first few journeys after that, I put my backpack in the passenger seat. It's a small, random thing, but not having an empty seat next to me genuinely helped me feel more relaxed about driving alone, just for those first few journeys. Take your time and don't be too hard on yourself -- you'll feel totally at home on the roads sooner than you expect :)
Dang bro you been driving for 2 years now your like 18 and about to go to college. I just started drive by my self yesterday. And I’m about to piss my self every time I get in the car.
Passed my driving test 1st time less then a week ago, but I honestly didn’t think I would pass and now I don’t feel ready It’s so strange driving alone, wish I had more confidence thanks for your videos 😊
Yeah my I structor instilled a sense of fear into me that seriously hindered me passing my test, but did it first time (woohoo) just recently.. when I am driving on my own now I feel like a naughty kid like I shouldn't be allowed out on my own lol... But you know what, then I just think well I can clearly drive and it feels amazing. Especially playing my old CDs which have not been touched in years.. living the dream now so happy. Drive safe ✌️
I got a new car in November and it really knocked my confidence at first as it was completely different! I was very nervous driving I'm dark, winter weather, busy Christmas traffic. But with practise I'm better now
Honestly my first drive alone wasn't scary at all. If anything it was less scary than having someone with me. The experience was weird when I first moved off because I have never moved off without having to wait for someone to be with me but after that it felt completely natural but there was a weird feeling behind it as I was in complete control
Great video, as always. I’ve been driving solo for just over two months now. For me, it stopped feeling strange after about a week, but that doesn’t mean I’ve got used to it! Every drive is still a big deal, an “event”. I haven’t driven solo on a motorway yet, I want to do my Pass Plus first. The main thing is to concentrate, carry on doing everything you were taught and treat it all as a learning opportunity. The good news is that physically controlling the car definitely comes more easily the more regularly you do it.
What i have notice with my friends, after they have gotten their licence driving alone for a long distance boost their confidence afterwards, while before the trip they were terrified.
Got my first car today! I had to drive at night and on a highway for my first time driving alone I was nervous at first but then started gaining confidence and it went really smooth! I would say just stay calm and definitely have gps if you’re not sure where you’re going (which really helped me) also be extra aware. I have to drive my self to work all this week and back to the car dealership which is a 40 minutes drive but I’m not nervous at all now.
For me my biggest fears after passing my test have been parking in busy car parks and tackling complex roundabouts/junctions I've not been on before. Planning ahead helps with the latter, I'm constantly studying streetview/maps for lane choices before the journey and try to keep them in my head, with the sat nav as an extra aid. Parking somewhere busy took me a little while. I've definitely spent a lot of time after my test practising in empty car parks to get better at parking and I've recently been to a few places that are busier. I've not attempted to park in between two cars just yet but I'll get there eventually!
This video is absolutely helpful for the new drivers. I hardly got my licence however I passed the driving exam at first attempt. Drove quite carefully and kept my calmness on the busy traffic, before the exam I had roughly 50 hours lesson and my instructor and me were extremely anxious and i thought he had feelings about my test would be fail anyway I passed and bought my car a few days ago plus started driving on my own last four days. Firstly I went to work on my own came home totally 40 miles and I was really scared because of it was the first time for me to being in a traffic independently and tonight touched someone’s car as I parked anyway nothing is serious but if the owner of the car realises then the problem gets bigger. I would like to share a few things with the new drivers, i stalled the car at the traffic lights a few times some drivers behind me horned their car and some of them waited patiently even I put “P” mark on my car. So, just do your best and stay always calm guys. All the drivers was like us before they start driving with their single hand 😁 and don’t forget every story should build your experience. Stay safe and be drive carefully that’s it ...
This is by far the best Driving school , it ticks all the boxes from the background music , the smooth driving and the lovely voice, i have been watching all your helpful tips for the past two months and i passed last week, i would love to replicate your driving , ie the steering to the right and lane discipline .I cannot wait and big Thank you to all team .
Thank you for this. My friend who is on my insurance part drove my car home and made me change over and drive. I have to say I was so petrified of test driving the car. But I was encouraged as he said your the one who will be driving the car. Because it was petrol and I learnt in a diesel I thought I was going to be stalling. The guy from the company was so reassuring and my mate sat in the back and I was fine.
When I passed my test, I always had an accompanying person with me for a few weeks afterwards. When I dropped somebody off, that was the first time on my own driving. You get used to it
just pass my test on Tue at first time, over the moon, still can’t believe i actually pass at first time. thank you to the videos you do here, they help me a lots! I am now watching this video before I drive on my own, feel very nervous there is no one sit beside me , watching me, give me instructions, or shouting at me when i made mistakes
Great tips. I passed in 2010 and still get nervous if I drive in a new area on unfamiliar roads as I'm more likely to make a mistake or be in the wrong lane and panic. Knowing where your going and planning your journey is key! Try to drive at quite times if possible
I passed in May last year and also get nervous driving in a new area. The best advice I had was not to panick otherwise the car will drive you. This is another great video. I have to muster the courage to drive solo on the motorway and flyovers
I wanted to give you a massive thank you . Your videos helped me a lot and I finally passed my driving test in second attempt with 3 driving fault . Thanks Indeed
Passed my test 12 months ago. Havent driven since...until now. Ive driven twice with my sister as a passenger. I cant quite bring myself to drive solo yet. Anxitety is though the roof!
What a great channel. You guys are really helping the drivers to be safe on the road and these videos are seen by people all over the world. Thanks for your insightful videos.
I watched this before I applied for a license,. Now I revisited it after having my license, before trying to drive beyond our neighborhood. Still feeling nervous, but I can still find some comfort in this video. Thank you!
These videos have been helpful thank you so much. I actually passed today 2nd time. Its so surreal. Still going to be watching videos to gain more confident and knowledge. Thank you.
A perfectly timed video! I've just recently passed (first time!), thanks largely to a very patient instructor and studiously watching your channel. I'm finding adjusting to driving solo very difficult. I'm very anxious on my own and the vehicle I have access to, is so different to the one I learned in. Different biting point and gear selection. It's like starting from scratch and extremely frustrating. Any tips?
Getting used to your car is also a good thing to do first before going to busy areas. I drove to one of my family members houses down the road yesterday and the car felt weird to drive but that’s normal but I’m gonna practice somewhere quiet to get used to the pedals and steering. So I’d say if you’ve just passed your test and got your first car, go somewhere quiet and practice your control of the car. It can be parking, reversing, steering, anything
I m driving over 10 years, No penalty points, No spending tickets. I feel confident driving in familiar driving places. I get overwhelm driving in big cities and I can t cross a very busy junctions. To over come this I would let some else to drive. I did a assessment recently. I found out that I m slow learner. I m taken driving lessons to learn to drive a bus for work. So i moving out of my comfort zone . My sister and i are going to stay in a hotel in Co Clare. In Ireland. I m going to driving through the out skits of Limerick city throughout busy dual carriage ways and roundabouts. My sister has her full Licence just over 6 months. My sister will support me as i drive. Because it took me longer to learn to drive my own car . I m never take driving for granted. I enjoy my freedom.
When I pass I’m gonna stick to quiet areas and gradually go into busier areas. It makes you know the area better without having to deal with challenging situations
Passed my driving test last week with a big help From this channel watching loads of videos on here months before my test & while I was learning etc.. I recommend this channel
It feels like youtube knew I passed my test yesterday, seeing as this just popped up in my recommendeds 😂 very useful though, thanks for the advice, I'll hopefully be able to drive by myself soon once I get joint insurance :)
Your videos are very helpful, informative and professionally edited. And please keep posting great videos. Your videos have inspired me to create my own channel which is mainly about real practical test videos. Very well done to Advance Driving School team.
Another excellent video. I think many qualified and 'experienced' drivers could benefit from watching this. It might refresh their memories and also help them to recognise that not all other drivers are as experienced and confident as they are. As an IAM observer I sometimes suggest that my associates use your videos to refresh their basic knowledge.
I'm doing a mock test as I'm closer to doing test it's still little thing's as I've said before I think of you both your driving and your talking .that helps alot like roundabout it's a long one and I nearly went for 1st exit that's motorway I Need 2nd so I've got that written down . And not to cancel signal before or during exit when I'm coming off it I trust you both as you passed other's with video's .
Passed my test last week. Going to pick up my car now and have to drive alone behind my boyfriends car. Quite nervous but I will just focus on the road ahead and drive at a speed I’m comfortable with
Not so, Indians have little respect for right of way, which seems to be strictly followed in the video, and other training videos. Learn to drive as shown, it is easier in India. I drive there, and am sharpening my skills looking at these videos.
i passed recently (well not really, 8 months ago now) and have only began driving semi regularly in the past month or so. im a very nervous driver which im worried about cos it might make me a dangerous driver. my first few times driving, my dad 'supervised' me - which was basically him shouting at every little mistake i'd make as i got adjusted to my (tiny, so speedy) new car. didn't help that my parents would discourage me from driving on my own until I'd gained more experience :/ definitely not the best start as a new driver
Literally same, I passed in June and have maybe been out once or twice during the day time since and more times at night since it’s super quiet. Other cars terrify me and I panic and get flustered super easily over the littlest mistake. It makes me feel guilty that I haven’t been consistently driving and it’s making me overthink before I sleep every night (2:44am currently). It really is an awful feeling :(
Another tip... Try to drive with your thumbs on the outside of the wheel, not latched on the inside. My friend broke both his thumbs when he got into a small impact crash and one is still broken to this day.
your SatNav looks amazing - what is it please? BTW your videos are all AMAZING - thank you for all your work with filming, editing, uploading - big love!
Honestly think there should be so much more focus on what to do once you passed. Its a completely different ball game and diff driving experience when your driving on your own. Advise anyone have a 2 hour motorway lesson as well as ask for lesson on A roads and country lanes people belting it doing 60mph on a little dirt track can barely fit 1 car down is something i felt i was not prepared for no mirror signal manoeuvre can get you ready for that ha. Passed January first time and still find whole thing nervous driving - Rush hour lessons and night lessons would help I feel now as again just different style of driving than doing laps of a quite housing estate Good luck everyone :-)
Es I remember my first drive after passing my test. It poured with rain and the distributer (remember those?) got wet and the car stalled. It was dark by the time everything dried out and my friends dad had come to rescue us; the rain stopped too.
That happened to me as well. Drove into flood and car stopped - but it dried out and restarted OK before help arrived! Used to carry a can of WD40 around after that…
I haven't driven for 3 years and I'm about to go back on the road! I was driving for a year after I passed in 2017 then had to stop driving due to life's little joys( I had a baby and couldn't afford a car for 3 years!) .Please can you do something on this? Im very nervous and worried x
The signs shows that we are about to enter a No Stopping zone - but it's OK to park anywhere before that sign. It might look like we have blocked the entrance to a roundabout - but that road hasn't been constructed yet and there is a metal gate right behind the car!
Unfortunately I'm a backwards failure. It pains me to see these 17 yr olds who easily passed their theories, practicals and are out there driving carefreely whilst balancing amd multitasking th eir social and academic lives. 23 yrs old, failed theory twice, not making any progress in lessons, instructor shouts at me then tells me to be more positive, struggling with even basic manoeuvres & wasting hundreds of pounds. Would it be wise to quit?
Thats not how driving tuition is supposed to be..its exactly how you lose confidence as this comment proves..im 37 and currently learning- since last may, proper tuition since july, ive had many unexpected issues with driving but a good instructor can take you past it all ,you're only 23 dont waste years not driving get a new instructor ,assess each lesson - what did i do well ,what do i need to work on -never 'i failed on this today' it takes time, dont ever pay anyone to give you less than you're worth
Do not compare yourself to other people. You are you and this is your life. You are trying to achieve something, which means you want it and you need it. Get another school, pass the exams whatever the time it takes. In few years you will be looking back at all of this and smile proudly.
I'm getting my first car this weekend, I passed first time 18 months ago. I will be the only person in my family who can drive so I will be test driving the prospective car. I'm so nervous!!!! Do you have any tips??
Hi, just another question, with an automatic car (from 2002) what order should the gear and handbrake be when setting off and when stopping/parking? Have had many different answers so wanted to clear it up! Thank you 🙏
When pulling away we select drive, then release the handbrake to drive away, then when stopping we apply the handbrake before selecting neutral or park. This should ensure the car is always prevented from rolling away down a hill - which could happen otherwise.
Thanks for the videos. Passed last week. I wanted to ask - in your old videos, I saw a small digital speedometer that you put on the dashboard. Where can I buy it from? Thanks

These videos have been helpful thank you so much. I actually passed today 2nd time. Its so surreal. Still going to be watching videos to gain more confident and knowledge. Thank you.
Very well done! 🚗👌🏼😃
Any tips?
We’d practice somewhere quiet until you’re used to the car controls. Then gradually drive in harder places as your confidence builds. Good luck!
OMG today I'm going to drive on my own for the first time, wish me a safe drive!
Good luck! 🚙👍🏼
I passed today,
1st time and with only three minor mistakes..
I would like to thank you for your very helpful videos.
Awesome - well done!
Got My License in April Just ben Driving on my Own for 2 Months Now.
Its Nice to be Independent.
Passed my driving test last week with a big help From this channel watching loads of videos on here months before my test & while I was learning etc.. I recommend this channel
Very well done! 🚙👍🏼
It feels like youtube knew I passed my test yesterday, seeing as this just popped up in my recommendeds 😂 very useful though, thanks for the advice, I'll hopefully be able to drive by myself soon once I get joint insurance :)
Ha ha - well done for passing!
Thanks for the videos you upload evertime time. They have help me a lot and I managed to pass my practical test.
Hi, just wanted to say thank you for the videos you guys produce! I passed with 4 minors on Friday thanks to you guys :)
Very well done - and good luck in your own car 🚘👍🏼
Just passed my test today :D havnt drove on my own but excited to give it a go :)
Excellent - well done!
Your videos are very helpful, informative and professionally edited. And please keep posting great videos. Your videos have inspired me to create my own channel which is mainly about real practical test videos. Very well done to Advance Driving School team.
Thanks very much - and good luck with your channel 👍🏼
Passed yesterday ❤. It felt weird to seat alone and go to work but your video helped
Well done! 🚙👌🏼😃
You are the BEST INSTRUCTOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I passed yesterday, I will try alone to drive today. Thank you for this important tips thank you 💓
Well done! 🚙👍🏼😃
Thank you so much... Very helpful for new drivers.
Passed today first time! Just in time with this video! Thanks!!
Brilliant! Well done :-)
Having someone with you makes journeys more fun
I watch all your video it's extremely benefit me. last week I have pass with 4 minor. thanks very much for your explanation.
Well done for passing - and good luck on the road 🚙👍🏼
Passed my test last week. Going to pick up my car now and have to drive alone behind my boyfriends car. Quite nervous but I will just focus on the road ahead and drive at a speed I’m comfortable with
Very well done. Good luck driving your own car, and if your boyfriend drives faster than you want to, stay at your speed and let him slow down.
It is hard to drive in India.....u have so many vehicles....bikes....if u r able to tackle here......u r expert anywhere...
It really is an awful feeling :(
I remember that Day. A combo of fear and Joy att THE same time 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I passed today !! Keep going guys you can do it 😊
Great job!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool thanks ☺️
AWESOME , VERY ENCOURAGING AND INTERESTING VIDEO ...... LOVE TO WATCH IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.
VERY GOOD RESEARCH: EXPERIENCED! U ara the BEST ! Mmwaaahh... ! Thanx so much Mwaaahhh!
Came into my recommendations just a day before my test. Is this sign? Anyways your videos have helped me a lot. Thank you.
Good luck! 🤞🏼
I'm getting on the road soon so this is so timely for me. 👍
Another tip... Try to drive with your thumbs on the outside of the wheel, not latched on the inside. My friend broke both his thumbs when he got into a small impact crash and one is still broken to this day.
After 10 years of driving I still sense the ghost of my driving teacher sitting next to me.. 😀
i have my test next week and i'm confident. TH-cam Channels like this helped me a lot! thanks 😊
Good luck! Let us know how you do 🚙👍🏼
Did you pass 😀?
Very nice and confidence generating.thanks for good driving knowledge.
8:15 HAHAHA He didn't even Try to look if a car is coming. Nope, lets cross. HAHAHA
Which is dumb because the driver could have pressed the GAS instead of the breaks. It's a very easy mistake to make.
your SatNav looks amazing - what is it please? BTW your videos are all AMAZING - thank you for all your work with filming, editing, uploading - big love!
The sat-nav was just Google Maps running through Apple CarPlay, set to satellite view 👍🏼
Such a good video and good tips for the beginners
Really appreciating video
Thanks 🙏
Great quality as usual!
Thanks
Best wishes from Saudi Arabia!
Passed January first time and still find whole thing nervous driving - Rush hour lessons and night lessons would help I feel now as again just different style of driving than doing laps of a quite housing estate
Good luck everyone :-)
Really cool videos. Thanks for uploading
Thank you so much ❤️
I have serious anxiety issues. I might as well walk to places for my whole life I guess 😔
Great video, thank you very much ❤️
This video is great. Thank you
I passed on Saturday really stressed going to work by myself today. 😬
Well done! 🚗👌🏼😃
No problem! Getting back behind the wheel: th-cam.com/video/azUd1LtxwNo/w-d-xo.html 👍🏼
At the beginning, haven't you stopped the car in a no stopping zone?
The signs shows that we are about to enter a No Stopping zone - but it's OK to park anywhere before that sign. It might look like we have blocked the entrance to a roundabout - but that road hasn't been constructed yet and there is a metal gate right behind the car!
Happy new year and still watching and also I've got some notes I've got down . I'm 90% there so can't wait to get on road.
Very useful thank you
Great video! Really useful and interesting 👍
Great tips and Advice thanks!
Wow ok thanks this just stressed me out brilliant
Nice Video! Keep up the good work.
Hi! Just wondering if the pull up on the right is a manoeuvre?
Yes, it is one of the official test manoeuvres. We have made a full video about it here: th-cam.com/video/AmANERr50ew/w-d-xo.html
Don’t give up just yet - why not try a new instructor or switching to automatic? Good luck either way!
I would go with another driving school. I used the AA and they were fantastic, I would also recommend using the theory test App.
No , don't quit, find a good instructor, this experience will shape you to become a safe and a good driver I can assure you .
Nice 👍.very helpful
Thank you so much.
I just passed my test at the 3rd attempt with 4 minors. This video will help me. Now just need a car!
Well done! 🚙👍🏼
if you feel tempted to speed, do it within the speed limit
Thanks alot🙏
I'm getting my first car this weekend, I passed first time 18 months ago. I will be the only person in my family who can drive so I will be test driving the prospective car. I'm so nervous!!!! Do you have any tips??
Yes - have a look at this page of our website: www.advancedrivingschool.info/buying-your-first-car.html Good luck! 🚙👍🏼
Thank you for tips v useful 🙏🙏
Hi, just another question, with an automatic car (from 2002) what order should the gear and handbrake be when setting off and when stopping/parking? Have had many different answers so wanted to clear it up! Thank you 🙏
When pulling away we select drive, then release the handbrake to drive away, then when stopping we apply the handbrake before selecting neutral or park. This should ensure the car is always prevented from rolling away down a hill - which could happen otherwise.
Advance Driving School thank you very much!
Passed at age 40
Thanks for the videos. Passed last week. I wanted to ask - in your old videos, I saw a small digital speedometer that you put on the dashboard. Where can I buy it from? Thanks
Well done for passing! Look on eBay or Amazon for OBD HUD for the little Speedo 👍🏼
