This came at such a perfect time for me. I'm in the class of 2022, however, I'm graduating from community college with an associates' degree while all my friends from high school are graduating with a bachelors this year. The thing is though, I'm still young, and at 21 years old I'm not ready to decide on a major because I still have no idea what my long term career goals are and what path I want to follow. And for anyone in the same boat, I'm sure you'll find your way too. Thank you Taylor, you've been my favorite artist ever since I first heard Love Story at 8 years old and you always will be ❤️
You're not behind. In a few years, it won't matter and less so, in more years after that. As an older person, my advice (and not too far from Taylor's) is listen to your gut instinct. It'll tell you what to do and where to go. ALTHOUGH do try to be wise about it. Your gut will tell you that too. Try to take as many opportunities that come your way as you can. If some don't exactly feel right for whatever reason, then move on. Works for jobs and for relationships. Do try to give something or someone a chance however, and don't give up at the first sign of struggle or hardship. Real life is hard and unfortunately, doesn't get easier as we get older BUT we do get wiser! Just try to make the wise choices which also means oftentimes not making rash emotional decisions. This is most important too when it comes to money. Anyway, you'll figure it out and get there eventually. Good luck!!

The last time I felt moved by a commencement address was in the 90s that became famous because it was passed off as written by Kurt Vonnegut but was actually a column written by Mary Schmich for the Chicago Tribune (and yes, it became a song by Baz Luhrman), but Taylor Swift wrote a very lovely speech.
That was an amazing heart to heart mindful speech . She points out what we have all gone through ..or will go through in our life times. We will have ups and downs, but instead of turning to paths that can cause destruction in one way or another…may it be a bad choice or an bad memory, we NEED to pay attention and LEARN from what life hands us. Many Blessings and heartfelt wishes to all those who go through any life decisions…..may we all learn, grow and blossom into what will be the BEST versions of ourselves that we can be.

I only intended to watch the first 2 minutes but I can't believe I watched her entire speech. She is such a captivating speaker.
It feels like i'm also part of the NYU's Commencement Exercise. What a speech!!!
Taylor really is a tailor for those people whose hearts are in tetters ...can't stop sobbing.. she's inexplicably amazing!

Congratulations Dr. Swift
“We’ll, let me give you the good news, it’s all up to you. And let me give you the terrifying news, it’s ALL UP TO YOU.”
Damn Taylor you really understand me :).
So much of this resonates with me, and I'm sure to a lot of others! She's such a motivational speaker. Love U Taylor!
Totally agree!!
This is a remarkable speech - extremely well done, Taylor. Also, congratulations graduates!! 🎉
I always love you because you had powerful and beautiful personality .
I have to say again I love you and God bless you and America .
Thanks,
Sincerely
Neha .
What an amazing speech she is offering all of us.
Got the feeling she is genuinely speaking from the heart… 👍🏽
napaka articulate nya mag salita🥺 tuloy-tuloy at walang binabasang script ✨❤️
there is a teleprompter for the speech she wrote
I graduated 10 years ago but I still feel this in my bones 🥲 Thank you Taylor, you’re such an inspiration!!
We swifties needs to stop calling out for hater or act like it is something new. Dude, it's been happening to Taylor ever since she started her career. When she wins something or when she losses something, people always has something to say about her. Just gulp it down fellow swifties, it's pointless to say anything to those haters.
It's not about Taylor as such everyone who's famous faces that its just part of it and they don't care anyways
Besides I don't even see any haters
That's the meatiest graduation speech I've ever listened to. She has a talent for Words.
You don't know how many times I replayed this. Such encouraging words from Taylor🥰
As a swiftie, I feel like we won. ♥️😭
You have just shared your experiences..and the best part is not to let losing and mistakes keep one down but to keep the positivity...and be better at life.Thank you..
In tears by the end of this speech. I love her sooo much
I love how she always says "Hi I'm Taylor" like people don't know who she is.. 😂
she does that at her concerts too😂😩
Lovely speech!
A wordsmith in all aspects! In songs and in relatable words full of wisdom and empathy
Did she memorize this whole speech by heart ??? Ooff the talent of this lady 😍
Impressive indeed! She might have--she's certainly capable, but I suspect she used the teleprompters.
the message is so overwhelming in an optimistic way😊 i really love this girl❤️❤️❤️
she sounds sooooo happyyyy im soooo happy for herrrrr 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Never expected this depth from Taylor Swift... Wow!
i was always wondering why such a talented and gorgerous airtist hadn't got an honorary degree from any universities... and finally there she is!!!
This means soo much. I graduated a month ago and this couldn't come at a better time. Love you Taylor!
I just experienced a roller coaster of emotion listening to Taylor's speech💜💜
she's just the best. Her honesty about her struggles and experiences in life makes my heart melt!
I loved your speech Taylor. I’m so proud of you and everyone else who graduated. It’s hard work that’s worth every bit of effort. Congrats!
Look at her! Listen to what she said! How can anyone doesn't like her??
The best speech I’ve ever heard in my life!!!
This is beautiful. Congratulations Doctor Taylor Swift and the class of NYU 2022.
Such an amazing woman, role model, artist. She truly is a master of fine arts. So happy for her!
Totally love the speech she delivered, i honestly cried reading her speech in a rolling stone article earlier today online.
which one, may I ask?
This is such a personal speech, not just a bunch of platitudes
테이 사랑해요 진짜 멋지다 ㅠㅠㅠ💜💜
That's a wonderful speech.... Congratulations, Taylor Swift, I love you so much. I'm from the Philippines.
Awesome! I did not expect that at all. One of the best I’ve ever heard.
Beauty with brains. Couldn't find a better example.
Hello Mary
She's so inspiring for young musician like me, I started learning Guitar and PIano and Songwriting because of Taylor Swift music.
Such a great, humorous, and moving speech. Congratulations to all you NYU graduates; as well as Taylor being honored with an honorary doctorate. I have always loved your fashion sense Taylor. I love you Taylor, I love your music.
What an excellent and very smart speech Taylor 🤩 So inspiring!
ah-mazing! did she legit memorize her entire speech?? i didn't see her once looking at any references. legend.
reference is often left and right of camera frame😅
@@LouisaMarit ahh that probably explains 😅
@@LouisaMarit I don't think she used any reference. I think she memorized it...especially because she is very good at memorizing
@@fathimasanayoosaf8688 nah, there were the little monitors. you can see it from a different camera angle in an NBC News video
