We broke out into this spontaneously at the Tuscany International Children's Choir Festival in '99. It was amazing, children from all over the world knowing and singing the same song with no conductor.
I was in Advanced Choir in Middle School for the two years they offered it. The two years I sang it, we all sang with all of our hearts. I joined marching band my second year of advanced choir, and started to sing it on the bus going to a competition. Suddenly, 3/4ths of the band joined in, we walked off the bus singing it. We got extra points in the competition for spirit and teamwork. :)
I'm singing this song in my choir class. We get so into it. We sway, and clap, and dance. It's gonna be way stellar when we perform it. I wish I knew how to get videos on youtube. Love this song :]
I love this song. I am a Muslim, and this song is great for Muslims/Jews/Christians/Baha'is/Unitarians/anyone who believes in God. Sing this at multifaith gatherings!
wow, i randomly remembered singing this song in choir when i was in 6th grade! it was one of my favorites! we were a pretty amazing choir too. this is a beautiful rendition.
that's awesome! you'll have to record it and share it, so i can hear! I loved being in choir, and i wish i had never started smoking. well actually, i got really sick one time, and my voice just wasn't quite the same after that. but anyway, i loved singing songs in different languages. we sang in german, french, and whichever african dialect this song is in (and english of course).. always such beautiful songs!
Erin Franklin I will try to record it but my teacher is ver strict when it comes to phones and other recording devices. Also, has has us learn at least a little on the song we are singing and this is apparently is sung in Zulu
Rose Gasai Fandoms well don't get in trouble over it or anything, haha. but that's awesome! zulu! i'm from new orleans, and we have an black mardi gras krewe/parade called "zulu" after the tribe, i suppose. :)
I love this song so much because last year when i was in 6th grade our teacher Mrs.Wright had a heart-attack a week before our choir pop show & we sung this for her because she used to sing it at the end of most of her choir concerts. Rest In Peace Charlene Wright. We love you.
I wish someone could upload my high school choirs version if this. We played with it a little. First the sopranos started and sang through the first few bars and then the altos joined in and sang the same thing again. And again with the tenors. Once they sang through the song once, it started again, this time with the whole 160 voice choir, adding the basses like that gave me chills every time.
i thoroughly agree, its a beautifull song. My 7 year old duaghter is catholic and she sings it in the quire at school, its her favorite song. :-) blessed be to you all x
We sang this in South Dakota's honors choir, 4 parts, with the guy who wrote our version. He was 6 ft, black, had dreads and had the classic gospel choir voice. He added some stuff to the song (uuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm marchiinnnnnnnggggg) and is was perfect
This is such an addicting song. I love it. We're singing this in our choir class too. But my choir teacher believes it's stronger if we don't sing the English. But I love the English too.
When my sister was in college and her choir started off their concerts with song, I would perk up because they would sound so beautiful!! I love this song!!
Come back all people of God in the light of God we are nothing without Jesus, the world and it's things will fade away, Jesus he is coming soon, he said in his word he will come like a thief, so we must prepare our oils and lamps like the virgins who were waiting for the bride to come. HALLELUJAH.
My school put together a small choir and we sing this at assorted events. It's not even close to as dazzling but the 12 of us do pretty well with it :D
