Imagine when the model makers first built and painted the refit movie model back in '78? There were no masks they could use for the aztecking; it would all have been done by hand using masking tape and Xacto knives! What patience would it have taken to be a model maker back in the day? Makes us appreciate today all the aftermarket stuff available to prevent us from expending hours upon hours of scratchbuilding and copying painting references by hand!
The studio model was painted by I person named Paul Olsen. I had contact with him years ago. I have his book the he wrote about his experience painting it.
