I think what is happening during the chorus is that she is singing, and they also play a recording of her vocal to give it the same double tracked sound it has on the record. It wouldn't sound as thick without it. The singer from Phoenix used to do it all the time. They're still performing.

Seen her many times and although it does look like the hook is lipsynced here, the rest is never and it sounds exactly like the album. She's amazing!
