Hi, I own a IS300 NA-T with a manual swap. In Europe we can use the J160 box out the IS200. Relatively cheap boxes but don't handle too much power. I'm running an unopened vvti motor at present but intend to swap in a non vvti bottom and crank it up... Do you recommend the R154 for the IS300??
Great video. I appreciate the upload. I'm thinking about doing a manual swap from auto to manual in an 05 is300. Will the r154 transmission fit perfectly in the center console or will I have to make a hole to compensate for it?
5:40 ... I think this is helpful. I think my factory W58 is on its way out and I don't want to put another W58 into my 93. I would like to put a brand new R154 and I know it won't be a easy bolt on without some modification. Would I have to do any other modifications? Like hammer out the transmission tunnel?
No, the SC300s were sold in japan as Soarers and the 1JZ-GTE Variants had the R154 Transmission from factory. As far as I know, no hammering is required. My only concern would be Driveshaft fitment.
@@SidewaysPerformance sorry for miss righting the ecu for the 97 SC 300 it will work on the 95 SC 300 or what is the best way to go thank you for your response joe
just ordered a jzx100 r154 from drift motion with a mk3 shifter housing $3.250.00 . i had a w58 strapped to a 2jz-nat non-vvti running 20psi of boost gtx3584rs in a 87 Toyota supra 2 years later and the w58 let go hard third gear gone
Mixing the driveshafts comes up with one that is too long by a small margin. To run it with the proper depth into the yolk it will need to be modified, and at that point 1 piece is better.
