- What an interesting first episode! I will admit, it ended up being nothing like I was expecting and not THAT scary - even though I was shaking in my boots at some points in the episode. and of course, crying in other points over characters I've just met 🤣 what else is new? I actually think I'll be able to not only handle watching this show - but also, I think I'm going to love it!! I'm so intrigued with these characters and some of the plot twists thrown in at me at the end there! I can't wait to see what happens and have my questions answered in the next episodes (hopefully!). Ellie is incredible - I love her already, the SASS. 🩶

As someone who hasn’t played the game but watched play throughs (I hope to play it soon) this kind of zombie is probably the saddest seeing as the hosts aren’t dead. They’re even conscious of what’s happening just they don’t have any control of their bodies which means they know they’re eating human flesh/their families but can’t stop. That’s why (especially in the game) you see them jerking around bc they’re trying to overcome the fungus but can’t. They even seem to be protesting while they eat things (you can almost make out a “no” here and there)
oh wow! I didn't realize that they were conscious of it really! that puts it into a whole different perspective. how upsetting 😭
This show is sooo good, but you definitely need to keep tissues nearby for every episode 😢

The infected aren’t a huge focus in the show. It’s more character and drama oriented so you don’t have too many ‘difficult’ scenes to get through
I'm noticing that for sure now that I'm a few episodes in and I am so glad I gave it a chance because it isn't very scary at all like I made it out to be in my head 🤣

Listen I've always hated zombies and stay away from horror. After giving the game 2 tries (returned it after 10 minutes due to zombies first time) fell head over heels in love with the game for the characters and devastating but beautiful story. The show is just as good but a bit different. Stick it out. It's an incredible ride

If you get scared or disgusted yet keep you interested and loving Ellie and Joel's story, they did their job well.
