I think next episode has maybe the best Ted Lasso moment; it's the perfect mission statement for what Ted Lasso stands for, the person and the show. ALSO... the biggest thing I love about this episode is that Ted just signs the divorce papers. A lesser show would've stretched that out for several episodes, an entire season, for tension. And had Ted act like an ass about it, try to "win" his wife back... this is so much better and healthier. And honestly, you get a much, much better moment for having him be mature, a much more emotionally resonant moment that's so far superior to "tension" manufactured by the writer's hand.

i understand you sm beacuse at first i can't stand william at all and maked me sick when i started this season but girl it can't just not like him when he is with her, like mf is cute at times ugh. 'cause of that i just decided enjoy the plot not thinking too much and that's it hahahhaha. i can totally say that noora and william are always gonna be my guilty pleassure fr.

The most influential teen tv show of the last twenty years. And created, written, and directed by ONE woman---the incredible Julie Andem. Allegedly thats why the show lasted only four seasons: because it was way too much work for one person. She kicked ass for four seasons though. :)

Sometimes if a player doesn't make it into the first team, the club will send the player out on loan to get playing time and continue their development at another club. For whatever reason, Man City loaned Jamie to Richmond...and Rebecca sent him back.

It’s interesting how you were initially suspicious of Sassy. The trope would of course be a third wheel has to introduce conflict, especially when it involves only women but once again, this series subverts and gives us a supportive female character who seamlessly integrates herself into Rebecca and Keeley’s already established friendship.❤

Re: Your reaction to the end of the episode - Sometimes things move fast. Sassy can be one of those things.

The simple fact that you (who I presume is not a fan of the game) are saying "we" over a fictional football team from a TV show fills the heart of someone who has been in love with football since he was a kid in 1977 with so much joy! This show has ju.ped into my top five TV shows of all time and I LOVE watching other people react to it.

It's the little things that make this show so perfect, like Beard crossing out 'Hamstring' and writing 'Torn butt.' To clarify a bit - they haven't won AT Everton in 60 years. Presumably, they've beaten them some of the time at home. Still, it's a pretty crazy streak.

Oh you’re speeding through these ! One of my favourite episodes. Keeley and Rebeccas friendship gets stronger. Notice when Sassy arrives neither she or keeley feel threatened. That wouldn’t happen in other shows. Poor Ted. Rebecca was great with him outside the club. The answer to Roy leaving will be sorted tomorrow. Sassy is a very confident person. She’s a child psychologist.

Also regarding the dealing alcohol part with his father: How it works in Sweden is that we can only buy alcohol above 3,5% alcohol in a specific alcohol store called ”Systembolaget”. You can still buy some beer below 3,5% in the normal grocery store but wines and liquor and heavier beers you only get from “Systembolaget”. So this is why the dealer thing comes in because in Sweden you’re allowed to consume alcohol from 18 years old but you’re only allowed to buy alcohol at Systembolaget from 20 years of age. So that’s why if teens wanna buy alcohol before 20, they either can only get 3,5% or drink it out at a club or bar when they are 18. And if you’re below 18, you need to ask someone above the age of 20 if you want heavier alcohol if you wanna go to a party. The reason Systembolaget is the only store that sells heavier alcohol is to reduce the alcohol consumption in society, and it works. And it makes it harder for people to easily get their hands on it, hence why Simon asks his dads to buy him alcohol (and the dad naturally should not agree but does in this context because he wants a good relationship with his son). Looking forward to episode 2!!

Congratulations on 2,000 Subs:) FOOTBALL IS LIFE and Football has been a significant part of my life since the first match I attended in 1962, so, 62 years ago now. The Loan system? The very best teams can not play all their star players as they may have 30 players playing for 18 regular places(including Substitutes) so they keep the player happy and match fit by loaning him to a lower team like "Richmond" who benefit from having a Top player. The Clubs share his weekly wage but the parent Club can call him Back at any time.

I love how at the start of this episode, people are always like "ugh Jamie is the worst. Get rid of him" and then by the end are like "They got rid of Jamie?? Nooo". It's a great episode!

The way the contracts basically work is that clubs constantly look for talent. But at the top level, they may not have an open spot in the starting 11. So if they have a new talent they believe in, they will 'loan' the player to another club (for a fee) so that the player gets more minutes on the pitch, but retain the player's contract so they can recall the player in case one of the starters is injured/retires/signs with another club/etc.
