I would have liked him to get further into his draft for the richness it added to the world, but I love the book we have too much for him to have published the revision. I think something special is lost to us whichever way events unfolded.
The revisions could be combined with the 1930 Hobbit he told his children, "The Quest for Erebor," "Durin's Folk," "The Complaint of Mim the Dwarf," and the mentions of the Dwarves in the Silmarillion and "The History of Middle Earth," to create "a Dwarven epic," he "wished to have found."

I for one would have loved to see him finish the revisions he was making.
The revisions would have worked if he combined the 1931 version with trains and Beren and Luthien with the revisions.
