Agnetha to me is the voice of a generation. I love everything ABBA has produced but I also especially love the voice of this remarkable lady. It's distinctive and alluring and captivating... and even these words don't do justice to her remarkable tone and clarity and emotion. Her voice cuts through you in the best possible way. People often throw questions around like "if you could meet any person in the world, who would it be?" This question is a no-brainer to me. There is only one choice. This amazing lady has left us a legacy of music that is second to none. A graceful, humble, stylish superstar.
Agnetha was interviewd by BBC Charlie Stayet 10th May 2013 Breakfast show. After the recorded part was shown, the BBC reporter stated to his mate female co- hostess how much impressed he had been by Agnetha's kindness and her humble manners and attitude. He commented that other celebrity stars usually walk the studio, sit in the couch, not looking or talking to anyone(hinting their snobbery) but when Agnetha walked in she went near every one working in the studio introducing her self saying 'hallo i'm Agnetha' and such stuff and shook hands. What an angel.
Please consider that artists often are introverted and anxious people, even many of the famous ones struggle with that - that might come across as snobby (that's not to deny that some VIPs are actually awful in real life). It's a gift that Agnetha can be so open and welcoming to everyone - when she decides to leave her private shell.
@@roli9091 Yes i'm pretty aware of this fact. Some even avoid eye contact for various reasons. But imo the majority of the big celebs really loose touch with reality after they walk the road to fame, riches and glory.they can't be grounded and usually lack respect and friendly ability to other people that work for them.Abba was a rare exeption that i love amongst others such as Olivia,Barry,A-ha's Morten Harket etc for same reasons.

This album is very special to me because I was unemployed at the time and very down not having a job and this album brought so much joy when I needed it . And also hearing Agnetha voice and seeing her perform and singing after so long. My favourite songs on this album are dance your pain away and when you really loved someone. This album shows how much joy she brought people by recording this.
A is a gem, and I listen to it very often. The songs are very insightful, and we got to see another side of Agnetha, more confident, cheerful and loose, more similar to the early 60s, where she was more carefree and naive. I think that it took tremendous courage to do this album, promote it, and overcome her fears one last (hope not) time. I do miss her voice, as it is so beautiful and unique, and one of the first sounds that I remember as a human in this existence. Hugs BB!
What a thrill it was back then, a brand new album with original songs! I loved it and still do! Good songs and nice orchestration, personal lyrics and still a very good voice. Especially when you hear her sing the very high notes on The one who loves you now! Over all a very good album and a positive, happy time with Agnetha doing all this promotion and even a live performance with Gary Barlow❤

I always felt that Agnetha still had something to tell with this album, about her life and career. The producers really felt that. The performance with Gary Barlow was such a surprise! Gary being so supportive and sweet towards Agnetha. And the reaction of the audience, amazing! All of that brought tears to my eyes.
A wonderful album, contemporary yet oh so true to the spirit of Agnetha. Clever writing and production. One of her finest efforts - a great follow up to the stunning previous release, “My Colouring Book” (my favourite solo Agnetha album). Still can’t believe this album is already ten years old - where did that time go??
A is an amazing Agnetha solo album, love it....I so wish the team would do a follow up ! I only wish they had done quality music videos to " I should have followed you home ' and ' Dance your pain away '
This album helped me through a very difficult time when I lost my brother, grandmother, uncle and cousin in a few months time. Don't know what I had done without it. Now I know I can dance my pain away, I'm strong and positive and very thankful.

This was an exquisite album. It was disappointing she didn't follow it up - it was a success after all. I saw her brief "thank you" appearance at G-A-Y in London. It was short, sweet and surreal
I think the thing that I love about this album, and ABBA's "Voyage" for that matter, is the enjoyment that Agnetha experienced while creating it. Do I want another album from Agnetha, or Frida, or ABBA? Yes...but only if everyone involved does it because they WANT to and they experience the type of joy that Agnetha did with this project. One rule that all of the members of ABBA seem to have stuck to since they broke through internationally in the 1970s is that they only work and create to please themselves. I admire that very much. Thank you Bobby's Brother for taking the time to put together these well produced, factual, respectful, and entertaining videos. You often bring tears to my eyes when you recite lyrics that have deep meaning. And I hope that you also experience joy when you create!
I never thought we would even have something like My Colouring Book from Agnetha so to also have this album was very special. I'm looking forward for your celebration of the 20th anniversary of "My Colouring Book" in 2024.:) It was such a surprise to witness her return after many years of personal struggle and it was also my soundtrack to an exciting new chapter in my own life.
@@roli9091 yes it is.Pretty impressive songwritting and production for the '60s , such a song.As for Agnetha's version it's only my personal so subjective opinion, and maybe i should have spotted this specification to my comment.
It amazes how you dig up so much interesting information about ABBA. This was all news to me except for the performance with Gary Barlow (which I love). But you surprised me because I didn't know the song was from the "A" album. In fact, I know nothing about that album. Didnt know Agnetha had resumed her solo career after ABBA until recently. I though she had gone into hiding in the 80s as a recluse. That's what the mainstream media was reporting, and then we heard nothing for decades.
Woo! I love this album! It's my second favorite English solo output of hers, right after I Stand Alone. My ONLY criticism...and this may be due to the era it was created in...is that I think they use too many effects on her voice on some places, to the point where it distracts me a little. I don't know if that was a stylistic decision or not...the early 2010s was a weird time for music, where everyone loved their shimmery vocal effects. Certainly she didn't NEED any of that, even if she might have been a little rusty. But I do still love this album very much. And how thrilled everyone must have been back in 2013 to hear Agnetha again and see her performing on stage! I didn't know anything about ABBA during that time, and I'm disappointed I never got to experience it. My favorite song is "Dance Your Pain Away"
I think you're right about the era. 2013 was at the very end of the Loudness Wars, and most albums were being processed using less DRC than during the previous 15 years or so. However an awful lot of other signal processing was still being used, and it can make songs sound a bit artificial - if that makes any sort of sense
@@davidwilding7405 It 100% makes sense. I don't know all of the technical terms or the processes, but there was a trend going on there for a while where everyone seemed to want to sound kind of shimmery and robotic? Not that the groups couldn't sing, but they were using it as an aesthetic choice? I don't know. Not to say that "A" sounds robotic! Despite the use of the effects it's a very emotive album.
@@bobbysbrother137 I wasn't super young at the time but it was definitely before I fell down the ABBA rabbit hole. I didn't know my Agnetha from my Frida and the only song I knew was Dancing Queen! Shame on me, but I got here eventually.
@@TheFridaFan Before Voyage, the only Abba song I'm old enough to remember on release, is 'one of us'. And in the 80's I was into Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna etc. It wasn't until my 40's, and I watched a TV documentary about Abba, that I really started to pay attention. Occasionally I've thought it would have been great to be 10 years older, and have seen them through the 70's - but then I wouldn't have had the experience of being a teenager/young adult when Nirvana and Oasis happened. I'm happy we can all appreciate Abba now, through the Voyage era, and look back at their previous music, like looking back at childhood photos. ❤️
Yet another magical voyage through Agnetha's music. Thank you, Bobby's Brother! I want to pay you a different kind of compliment; you have a great voice for storytelling. Paused, clear, emphatic when necessary and artfully articulated. What shines in your videos is the content of that which you are telling. My 9 year old grand niece says that you should narrate fairytales. I believe she is right. Cheers!
Hej Jorge, my voice and narration is one of the least appealing aspects to me. If I could, I would use someone else to narrate, it's definitely hard work for me to do. So your compliment is indeed a very special one, thank you for the encouraging words. And for the sweet words from your grand niece. I thought I already narrate a fairytale? ... :-)

She is a lovely and well mannered little girl. Quite beautiful, too! Her name is Natalys and she will be happy to know that you appreciate her words. Blessings and love.
Hello BB. I love everything Agnetha sings but I especially like her 5 Swedish CDs 1968-1975. I also like My Coloring Book and remember having a listening party on abbamail with a bunch of ABBA fans around the world when we all heard the 1st playing of my coloring book at the same time. I'm sure I liked A but it's been so long since I listened to it, I forget how the songs go. 🎹
Die CD A ist einfach wunderbar und perfekt. Ihre Stimme ist immernoch so klar und deutlich, einfach fantastisch. Ich liebe ihre Songs alle. Danke für diese wunderbare Musik.
Hey BB, An idea for another video (not that you need any)…mistakes in Abba recordings. One I have always thought is in SOS - in one of the chorus the word “love” sounds like it is slightly muffled, like someone has briefly put their hand in front of the speaker. Anyhow, just an idea…love your videos and always look forward to new ones!
Brilliant, BRILLIANT album, with fantastic vocals from Agnetha. Not a single filler track here. Melodic, human, heartwarming, tastefully produced and arranged, great musicians as well. Personal favorites : "Perfume in the breeze", "Bubble"' and "Back on your radio". But the entire album is just outstanding, really. And yes, there is a link between this album and "I Can Be That Woman", both carry the same emotional warmth and beauty.
If I thought you’d ever change your mind) a more than beautiful song in words and melody and amazing voice from Agnetha … this song is full of great emotion ❤ from heart.. thank you for this beautiful song that we can hear it always and in all times ❤❤
Thanks for making this video. "The one who loves you now" is my favorite. It's been a great enjoyment to see the music video while listening to Agnetha's impeccable sound!
As usal an exelent video from you. The duett with Gary makes goosebumps on me! A good album from Agnetha-one of the best singers in the world. Keep on your good work🌟
Gosh, I cannot believe it's already 10 years ago this year - I remember buying the album like it was yesterday! And watching that live performance...! The audience's reaction when Agnetha entered the stage and right after she started singing said it all - truly, as the BBC host said, "the biggest welcome ever"! My heart was pounding when I was watching that!!! Like you said, BB, she overcame two of her fears in one go, flying AND singing live, BRAVO, AGNETHA!!! "I Should Have Followed You Home" is also my indisputed favorite on "A", starting with the few snippets I heard in a TV commercial in Germany. But really, like you said, each one of the songs is amazing! Whenver I think of "A", the lyrics to "Back On Your Radio" come to mind, as Agnetha literally was "back on our radios" and telling us: "Tune into my frequency, I missed you for a long while". I also remember when Agnetha said: "I'm so glad to be here tonight" that flicker of hope inside me that maybe, just maybe this could also mean a possible ABBA reunion? After all, the buzz around the "hologram show" as it was called then, was already starting, even though at the time, we had no idea what it would be. And now, 10 years later, here we are - what an incredible voyage!!! Listenting to the album's opening track for the very first time, I had exactly the same feeling as when I heard the opening line of S.O.S. for the first time: chills and that indescribable feeling of recogizing someone familiar - a friend, even - from back in the day. Thank you for the music and your bravery, Agnetha, both in this album and in the decision to rejoin Frida, Benny and Björn a few years later!!! We are forever grateful!!!
excellent job BB . I love this album the best especially when you really loved someone and I was a flower and I should have followed you home. Agnetha is my favorite , i adore Agnetha
Thank you Bobby's B - you've again done a superb prècis of what in my opinion ranks as one of Agnetha's best English albums (on par with "I Stand Alone"). Sophistication throughout, vocals that showcase her incredible range to suit the feel of each song and above all true artistry and a beautiful production by J.E & P.N. 🩵🤍🩷

@@bobbysbrother137 ISA!!!This album was a huge hit in Sweden.Lead singer of alt-rock band Pearl Jam , Bill Corgan(!) had named this album as a 'lost treasure' and Agnetha one of the best female voices ever! not to mention his positive comments on Abba the band.
The problem with this album is that while the singing is really good the album as a whole is rather bland. That being said, the song "The One Who Loves You Now" is simply gorgeous. Her best album by far is "Elva Kvinnor I Ett Hus". Strong production and melodies.
@@vladpezo8080 No really , compare it to "Elva kvinnor i Ett Hus" where Agnetha wrote and produced the whole album and is such a masterpiece of a an album and it has contrubutions from all ABBA members. It is actually better than all the ABBA albums released up to that point! "Ring Ring - "ABBA". Of course it can't quite compete with the next five ABBA releases "ARRIVAL" - "THE VISITORS" which are the five best pop albums ever released! The "A" album is not a bad album by any means but cant hold a candle to that album.
@@rogerolsson9707 Roger, agree 'Elva kvinnor i Ett Hus" is a great album 👌 .. but for me not really to be compared with 'A'. The latter is done in her early 60s so should expect something very different, in her words 'more mature'. Like with any album I'll listen to this when in the right mood and immerse myself in the story being told.
It's actually "I push my sorrows in a cart". Agnetha is identifying with a homeless person (incorrectly named in the lyric as "a homeless"). It's a nice metaphor but awkwardly phrased - much like the album. It all sounds so blandly Europop. Agnetha doesn't push herself anywhere challenging for herself or the listener and the songs are too blah. I rarely listen to the album but I like the dance version of I Should Have Followed You Home. My Colouring Book has much better songs, production and performance.

I'm looking forward for your celebration of the 20th anniversary of "My Colouring Book" in 2024.:) It was such a surprise to witness her return after many years of personal struggle and it was also my soundtrack to an exciting new chapter in my own life.
Believe it or not my absolute fave off this album is...'Past,Present,Future', far better than the original version.it's so 'desperately' Agnetha.
@@alexioverdo5225 I love Agnethas Version, but I'm a massive Shangri-Las-Fan too, their original is (also) heartbreaking.:)
@@roli9091 yes it is.Pretty impressive songwritting and production for the '60s , such a song.As for Agnetha's version it's only my personal so subjective opinion, and maybe i should have spotted this specification to my comment.
A wonderful review. A is an exquisite, quality work.
Good thoughts! Pity you actually missed it on release, because you’re so young. But I hope I could bring you a little closer to that time. BB
I thought I already narrate a fairytale? ... :-)
@@bobbysbrother137 dear Bobby, everything worth doing, is worth doing well. Your efforts, as difficult as you find them to be, are rewarded by the countless followers of your channel.
I came across your channel a bit late so, I haven't had the time to view every single one.
My grand niece loves ABBA because I introduced her to the group.
A plus in every way!
Wonderful, Bobby! You said it almost all like I would say it! Thank you so much for your effort!
Bobby's Brother - others have already said it, but you're bloody awesome, pukka, the dogs boll*cks, and from my part of England 'Proper job' 😁
Great and precise narration, the passion for Agnetha and ABBA clearly shines through....Thanks.
Brilliant ✨ 🙌
Thanks
Hej Clay, many thanks for the generous support! I really appreciate that, it’s very kind of you. Cheers, BB.
Agnetha brilliant, live forever.
I love this album ❤
I visited Sweden about 1985 and remember going to to a theator which looks like the images I see on this video. What is the name and location of this place? I live in the US and plan a visit this fall as my grandfather was born in Sweden in 1875 in Dalarna I love everything ABBA and Hope to go to the Voyage concert also. Is this Album currently available? I found you soon after you started your channel and follow your latest news . I was a big fan of ABBA in 70's and 80's. Love your passion.
current
As far as I know, it is the Drottningholm Palace Theatre
10 years ago?! Oh my god!🤪 But it can't have 26 years between releases, can it? She released "my colouring book" before that in 2004.
Thanks. It’s been 26 years since an album with original songs (“I Stand Alone”, 1987), as I emphasised.
@@bobbysbrother137 Na, dann.
@@alexioverdo5225 I know, right? It's one of my all-time favorites.
'A'?Aaaahh!
Молодец! Спасибо!
The problem with this album is that while the singing is really good the album as a whole is rather bland. That being said, the song "The One Who Loves You Now" is simply gorgeous. Her best album by far is "Elva Kvinnor I Ett Hus". Strong production and melodies.
Exquisite album. Nothing bland about it.
Review my album Usmellfish-Walking fish
Do you think ABBA will be entering Eurovision next year with a new song?
I’ll be having a new video about that topic later tonight.
@@bobbysbrother137 well I think they may enter via the ABBATARS with a new song, It will take me back to when I saw them on the tele in 1974, Waterloo was my first ever bought record ! Look forward to your videos, smashing stuff kiddo 😉
