That dutch people are thinking Sieneke put shame to the Netherlands is a opinion. Although, a true dutch man would enjoy a typical dutch song like this one. It comes close enough to the old singers, who were even in the netherlands before the youth of these days were born. #KeepTheNetherlandsTraditional !
If I didn't know this is from 2010 I'd never guess. It sounds at least a decade older than it is.
ONE decade older? It sounds like the 70s phoned and wanted their music back - or even the 50s.
So Dutch sounds like a happier version of German XD

I'm Dutch, and although this is definitely not the music I listen to (infact, I even loathe it with my entire life), I completely agree with KeithM21 that we here in Holland don't give this song enough credit. It truly reflects Hollands and I guess that's all what it needs. Just have fun and party, something we Dutchies are good at! Ofcourse it's unbelievable corny, but at least it's not pretentious like some other entries.

I'm from Norway and I must admit I'm going to give a couple of votes to this one tonight. Even though there many songs with better musical quality on show tonight I can't get it out of my head. It simply gets me in a good mood:-) So don't feel ashamed you Dutch:-)

I think many people in The Netherlands are not giving this song enough credit. It's a catchy tune and the mentioning of various European cities (albeit in Dutch) will appreciate that.

It's so funny to read all the comments on here. All the haters probably think ESC has become a MTVish kind of show. Well ESC is still a familyshow and im sure NL will do better than a lot of you expect. The best thing about ESC is that you get to hear different musicstyles and languages, which means also retro songs, schlagers in Dutch. Accept it. ESC 4 ever!
ik denk dat de beste omschrijving "bespottelijk" is. Het niveau van het songfestival dit jaar was hoog en Nederland komt met een inzending die vroeger in "op volle toeren" gedraaid werd. Als je echt wat wil bereiken doe er dan ook wat voor. Stuur Moke bijvoorbeeld.

This song is a bit old-fashioned, but it's also typically dutch. Between all balads it will do pretty well.

Ik vind het echt geniaal dat ze dit lied traditioneel Nederlands hebben laten klinken en ook Europa eraan toe hebben gevoegd (d.m.v. hoofdsteden). Ik vind het 'Sha-la-lie, Sha-la-la' gedeelte echt niks, maar de tekst van de coupletten vindt ik wel leuk,. Ze doen me een beetje denken aan 'Liefs uit Londen'. Dit lied gaat niet winnen, maar ik denk dat we een grotere kans hebben om de finale te halen dan vorig jaar.

Speaking as an Australian fan of the contest, I thought this was one of the better songs out there. Maybe no complex, but it stood out and was catchy. I liked it, and think it deserved better than it got.
I thought they were going to show us eurovision winners from the early 80s when I heard this song. Glad it didn't make to the final.
