I have always wanted to teach second!! :) I have laminated them and re-used them as well, and I had a great experience with it. I recommend it.
Thank you for the advice! I think I might need to try laminating them! :)
So happy you get to stay in second and in your current room! Regarding anchor charts, I started to laminate the ones I would make year to year. The anchor charts that I am not creating with the students though because those ones I will create with my new class year after year. The ones I laminate are like the ones that I made, for example, main idea, characters, setting etc. I created those anchor charts and have them laminated and when I introduce them, they stay up and we refer to them all the time. Looking forward to your classroom setup videos :)
Thank you for your support! :) Thank you so much for sharing your experience on laminating!!
I also teach 2nd grade and it’s honestly THEE best grade. Not too young and not too old😊
YES! I have loved it so much!!
I taught 5th grade for 9 years, and I laminated anchor charts. It was great. However, we kept switching curriculums and how certain skills should be taught. So, I ended up not using them after 3rd year or so.
Thank you for sharing your experience with this! That is a great point to keep in mind!
Hello! Enjoying your videos this summer :) Curious as to what behavior communication you use for parents. Last year I used a daily calendar with which the kids colored at the end of the day depending on their color on the flip card chart (green, yellow…). Do you use something to communicate daily with parents concerning behavior or just communicate with them on an as needed basis?
Thank you for your continued support! It means so much :)
I tried something very similar this past year to what you did with a calendar where the students colored in what color they were that day. I plan to use it again this upcoming year because it worked great! That is what I use to communicate their behavior daily but if there is something specific that I want to inform parents about then I love using Class Dojo to reach out and message them.
